I use twitch prime to sub to people if I watch them for more than a week, since my stimuli-overloaded brain usually can't focus on anything more than a day before giving up on it. But that's about it, I'd never pay an additional fee to sub or donate, I don't understand why people do. I mean, I understand why they SAY they do, but I see people who sub to like 5-6 people, there's no fucking way you're watching all of them every month.

i feel the same way. im not a faggot e-celeb but if i was id have a hard time dealing with the fact that some dude who JUST got paid or whatever is dropping his hard-earned cash on me. doesn't matter if he claims he's totally good for it, id always have a hard time believing that of most of the people that do it, it seems wholly a "paying for attention" thing to them. like again if i made it as an e-celeb i can probably make do with sponsorships and offers from people that actually have the money to do business(or maybe id eventually own up to the fact that e-celeb is ultimately a scummy "career" because itll likely force the donation beggar out of you and ill quit to become a decent human being again). save it up and if you actually do have some cash to burn spend it on yourself or someone closer to you and not some parasocial version of me

You don't have to beg for shit, people will just dump it in your lap. The only thing I find 'begging' helps with is the twitch prime shit. People meme it, but the majority of twitch's userbase is so fucking fried that they don't remember they have it. Just saying "hey remember twitch prime exists" and I almost always get 1-2 subs, it's fucking eerie.
That said, sponsorships for streams are much much worse than on youtube. Youtube you'll average about 4000 USD or more if you're more popular from most sponsors, streaming you usually get kickbacks, basically like a cpm for people who follow your referral link. The only time I've gotten flat sponsorships with an upfront cash payment is when a game company wants me to play their game. Nexon paid me for lawbreakers, maplestory 2. MS paid me to play pso2's beta. But those are few and far between because they can almost always get someone to stream it for free with just the giveaway of a key, or an offer to promote the stream. I got an offer from epic (or rather, phoenix labs) to stream dauntless, but the only thing they had in that offer was 5 keys for dauntless. This was right around launch and I assumed the game was gonna flop since it basically disappeared from my radar after mhw came out.
