They managed to censor adventure time but Steven universe was too gay for them to censor.

i am a far left winger and hold that view. i dropped the show when it got to the thanksgiving episode involving "dude your uncle fucking hates us and wants us all to fuck off and die but uhhhhhh he has problems too so he's good :)" and it only gets worse from there. pretty sad. as for the other villains, christ knows i love a good villain redemption but there's a limit on that kind of thing.

the issue is with the tv networks that actually order and air the episodes. they don't like shows with long-running stories, and they don't like serious stuff. fortunately stuff like netflix is making it more possible for quality cartoons to get made but we're still a pretty long way from anime. it basically boils down to "it needs to be episodic and highly merchandisable or it's not gonna sell and we won't air it."
