Is this game worth it? I see it talked about everywhere. People said Yakuza 0 was amazing and to buy that, but it was meh I thought. So will P5 be the same?

Street date was broken in aus 5 days ago so been playing a bit. Finished my first P5 playthrough about 6 months ago so it's still fairly fresh in my memory, but enjoyable on a second playthrough.
Game holds your hand a bit less after you get 5-6 hours in, there's a bit more to do, and they've given everything an extra touch of polish.
Haven't gotten to new semester so can't comment on story yet but i'm happy enough with the purchase.

Also being able to play with jap audio and english subs is probably worth the price of admission alone

I was bored by Yakuza 0 but found P5 to be an amazing game

I DID reserve the steelbox, but with Portland in lockdown, I just went and bought the Ultimate Edition so it will available at 9pm on Monday.

I preordered it on Amazon.I hope the virus doesn't affect when it comes. I spoiled it for myself because I have no control when it comes to spoilers so now I know the massive twist but I'm still looking forward to it. Also I'm a pedophile so I'm REALLY looking forward to the new twins cutscenes.

I totally agree. Futaba's arc alone makes P4 obsolete. Her palace is better than anything from P4 and hits much harder than any of their personal stories.

I haven't played P4 or P4G but GODDAMN did Futaba's palace make me feel. I legitimately almost cried when Futaba said her goodbyes to her "mom".

Me too bro. Futaba's palace is a huge feels trip. I cried at multiple points where there were the sad reveals about her, and especially during those final scenes around the boss. hopefully they go with a darker tone for p6, p5 and 4 were a little too glitzy for me. a tone similar to persona 3 would be great, and i'd love a return to classic persona storytelling ala persona 2.

Wasn't planning to get it but it came out early in ausfagland and I had nothing better to do. I was pretty pissed when I realised most of the challenge battles including the ones against the p3/p4 protagonists are locked behind paid DLC. How the fuck is that acceptable when the game itself should be DLC. Other than that all the QOL improvements are great. I'm playing on hard for the first time so I can't really tell but it seems like it's much easier than the original because you get all these extra battle mechanics to your advantage but there doesn't seem to be anything that counterbalances them.

The new voice actress actually sounds hotter in my opinion, I don't mind the change.

Atlus have given every Persona game since P3 a big expanded re-release with new content and balance changes. Kind of like an expansion pack, but also reworking the original campaign.
