Two-thirds of AC: Odyssey Players Played As Alexios

Coming off a recent playthrough of Origins (which I really liked) the game is not as good, but still fun.

I chose to play as alexios because he's cuter.
Besides, the power dynamic at the end is WAY more fun with Kassandra as the big baddie, it's a fresh take in gaming, especially since she acts out that role great. In addition, Alexios adding in the emotional family beats again is something new in games.

Let's be honest, if kassandra were the main character her "father" wouldn't have trained her for battle, her mother would've taught her how to cook and knit or something
then after escaping and meeting markos he would've made her a farmer, not a mercenary

Alexios is a better protagonist. He fits better with the dialogue and kassandra fits better with her dialogue as the antagonist plus it makes more sense.

At many times during that 200 hour game I stopped and thought "damn this must be really retarded/lame/unfunny as kassandra"

I was enjoying Odyssey until I got to Megaria and found out they brought back that fucking Borough Conquest mechanic from Syndicate.

RPG that features romance? Yeah, I'd rather play as a guy. Plus Alexios va has really fun deliveries. I doubt Kass would be better(although this might be prejudice).

I don't quite understand the psychology behind the "why did you play as this gender instead of that gender?" shaming, but whatever. Play whatever gender, species, or race you want and have fun. There is no right way to play other than whatever way you think is most enjoyable.

Personally, when given the choice in third person games, I always play with a female character because I much prefer to look at a sexy female while I play. When the game is first person, I couldn't care less what I play as, especially if the first person character is non-voiced. In such first person games, I will pick a character based on stats, qualities, attributes, skills, whatever, that I think best suits the way I enjoy playing most.

As for AC:Odyssey, I played as Kassandra but I got bored after about 10 hours or so. The game seemed extremely repetitive to me, and not enough interesting (new or unique) RPG elements to offset all of that repetition.

It’s level based with Diablo loot. Lower level than your opponent? You can’t even assassinate them, it just does a little damage and you get thrown off

Correction: It has the same small amount of content cloned and repeated many times over what is admittedly a large and relatively detailed world. Every province (Or whatever the call them) is a series of the same 3-4 missions repeated over and over. Most of the side quests are very boring, and only a few of them are interesting and those are the ones dealing with the mythical creatures. Though a few of the random side quests did end up being amusing or something

Its good but heavily flawed.
They added a ton of rpg systems, and then added almost diablo-esque levels of stat growth in a post launch update.
The monkey's paw caveat, and there is a caveat, is they hampered all resource gains (money, experience, trading items, crafting items) to korean mmo tier to push the quick fix stuff you can buy for real life money in their shop.
My roommate loves the series so he played it without spending a penny but I've heard its bad enough that a casual fan will get fed up with it.

From what I saw it just gets overly grindy late game. I saw my roommate slashing away at dudes for like 5 minutes unbroken and it was all chip damage, everything becomes super spongy.
It isn't close to historically accurate so don't go into it looking for that. Its a straight up fantasy game with grecian trappings. They mispell names just to have them different, change character traits of historical figures we largely know everything about due to meticulous cataloging of their own daily lives and the like.

If you can get it for under 10 bennies its worth it but know they intentionally meddled with the design to push microtransactions.

That's not true. Reviewers complained they had to play the game more than 25 hours, and outrage-peddlers picked up on it. Ubisoft is only squeezing money out of people that don't enjoy games anyway.

I went for Kassandra because of my legs fetish, good thing you can set any armor skin so I usually go for the Misthios set

Haven't played it myself, but as a counterpoint to what this guy said about his roommate, I loaned my PS4 to my dad (who's in his 50's and a casul) and when I got it back he logged over 350 hours in this game. He hadn't played another AC since I think 2, and he loved it.

Its a good timesink game but other user is also right, it is just copy pasted content stitched over and over again all over the place.
That coupled with the intentional meddling is just anons telling another user what he is getting into.
I still recommend it if you can get it cheap and just want a timesink game.
Its flawed, but there are much worse games out there.
