It's fine. The only thing holding it back was really the fact that the level balancing was busted, and that's seemingly fixed. Beyond that, you could abuse Break/Topple/Daze, but they seemingly have duration bars that reset, instead of being able to stack them anymore.

I'll buy it as soon as stores near me start offering preorders. I finished the Xenosaga trilogy in August last year and wanted to go into the Xenoblade games immediately, but the remake was announced literally a day before I was going to bring out my old Wii and start a playthrough. I figured I may as well play the enhanced version and have been waiting to play ever since.

Because this took much more effort than a typical HD remaster. All player models and seemingly most of the enemy models and environments have been completely redone, including new models, textures, better animations, etc. It's also running in their current engine rather than whatever they were using back on the Wii. Also the new epilogue which could be somewhere between 10-20 hours of content.

Port = Basically a copypaste with minor, if any, tweaks. Possibly 1-2 minor additions to justify the copypaste.
Tropical Freeze for Switch is an example.

Remaster = Slightly visually touching up what's already there. Possibly update a few models or texture work, but that game is mostly the same.

Remake = Extensively remade pretty much from the ground up. Often just visually with new meshes, materials, effects, etc. but can also include more extensive gameplay changes.
See Crash, SotC, RE2 remake and FF7R.
