WHY CAN'T I EMULATE PS2 GAMES IN THEIR PROPER SPEED WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR MY PC TO HANDLE?!?!

WHY CAN'T I EMULATE PS2 GAMES IN THEIR PROPER SPEED WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR MY PC TO HANDLE?!?!
I SEE POSTS FROM 2011 SAYING THEY GET THEIR GAMES RUNNING WITH NO ISSUES I'M SITTING HERE IN 2020 TRYING TO EMULATE A GAME FROM 2005 AND I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK WITHOUT SLOWDOWN WHY??!!??!

Have you tried to download more RAM?

Get something better than integrated graphics from ten years ago.

I'm sorry man PS2 emu needs at least GTX 1080

Shut the fuck up animesissy

get a better computer or a ps2 for $20 you fag.

have you tried reinstalling windows?

THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO RUN A GAME FROM 2005
I'm a poorfag AND can't take delivery due to corona (my liver is fucked)

wait for ps5

I think it's funny, the only issue I had emulating PS2 games was that the speed of the music on the radio would change depending on how fast I was driving my car in San Andreas.

Going really slow the music played in slow motion, going fast the music was sped up.
It was weird.
I'm glad they announced San Andreas on Steam literally days after I tried to emulate it.

I remember getting full speeds with a 660 Ti + 3570K, so I'm not sure why it's so slow for you. I know the 4460 isn't as good but it shouldn't be that much worse.

The PC version of San Andreas is fucking trash though

how is this even possible? am I doing something wrong? did I miss a crucial step?

>I'm glad they announced San Andreas on Steam literally days after I tried to emulate it.
what? San Andreas was on PC before third party games on steam were a big thing

What game?
DQ8?
Disable widescreen in-game and use native res.
Also switch the graphics plugin's settings to see what runs best (OpenGL, DirectX, etc.), do NOT use software mode.
Skipdraw setting on 1 if you're really playing DQ8.

I couldn't find a CD of San Andreas for sale back in 2008, I was a stupid teenager.

>What game?
Yakuza
>Disable widescreen in-game and use native res.
Already doing that.
>Also switch the graphics plugin's settings to see what runs best (OpenGL, DirectX, etc.), do NOT use software mode.
I tried everything and honestly? OpenGL SOFTWARE works best (still shit but about 10% faster than anything hardware)
help?

>not downloading a [Hoodlum] version from e-mule in 2005

>software works best
either yakuza has something fucked up to emulate, or the emulator isn't using your grapchis card properly.
Are you using an up to date build and plugins?

Why the fuck is your computer hardware from 6 years ago? Get a fucking job.

>or the emulator isn't using your grapchis card properly.
uhhh
>Are you using an up to date build and plugins?
I downloaded the emulator like 3 days ago, it comes with all the newest plugins right? otherwise no.
anons... please... times are tough...

Rockstar sucks Sony's succulent dicks

What game and what settings?
IIRC epsx or whatever emulator does ps2 had a lot of settings to fiddle with

not him but
>CONSOOOOOOM

To run PS2 games at a good framerate you need a RTX 2080 Ti, 16GB 3400MHz RAM and a Ryzen 3850X MINIMUM.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

My 3570k is older than your cpu and doesn't have these problems.

My rig is a few steps lower than those specs and I ran DQ8 with 60fps patch and double native res at full speed with a few places going at 90% speed.
There's something wrong with his setup.
maybe he's missing some framework or has outdated drivers.

What game, OP? Some games just aren't emulated well.

Have you considered emulating PS1 games? You could probably run them with that hardware and there are some really good games on that console, I like Ace Combat 3 for example.

ps2 emulating depends a lot on the game
example games that run on any toaster: kh1-2, budokai/tenkaichi
example games that need actually good cpu: ratchet & clank 1-3, jak 1-3, tekken tag,4,5

coronavirus is too scary, we'll have to reschedule
Yakuza
tried nearly every setting and while some work better than others the best combination is far from ideal
you're joking right?
right?
;_;
Yakuza
I WANT TO PLAY YAKUZA DAMN IT

Attached: blush.png (904x720, 780.29K)

haha consoles btfo pc mustardo race :)

Man, is it so hard for you to check your emu settings? Tweak it a little bit.

there are some ps2 games that run fine on your specs, but you shouldn't expect stable 60fps for more cpu intensive games, im guessing yakuza is one of them

Yakuza seems fine.
wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/Yakuza
I have to assume the emulator isn't using your GPU right.

I DID THAT AND IT DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING

Attached: nomnomnom.gif (189x189, 273.5K)

update the emulator or downgrade to the stable version

>wiki.pcsx2.net/Yakuza
According to the latest test in the wiki page a guy with a 2600k and a GTX 750 managed to run it at constant 60fps

Maybe your config is just wrong and that's why it's not running well

is this alright?
I thought I installed the latest stable version, in case I installed the wrong one, could you link the correct one for me so I don't fuck it up yet again?

Attached: my specs.png (436x720, 82.86K)

>I thought I installed the latest stable version
Don't use the stable version, use the experimental, it's better.

>use the stable version
>I am
>use the experimental version then!
ok..?

Have you tried buying a ps2 for $5?

go suck on a black cock you anime tranny lol!

see

Close down all the programs you're currently running on your PC and take a screenshot of your processes in task manager.
I'm dead serious about this.

Listen to me, with long running emulators the experimental version is almost always better.

PCSX2 is no exception.

Try unchecking the 8 bit textures. With that enabled the CPU does more work.

>mfw I have two cracked PS2, a slim and a fat
>In fact I'm playing King's Field IV on the fat right now

I want good PS2 emulation more than everything in this world, but that may not happen

Attached: 1523727745175.png (1280x720, 633.87K)

That either doesn't do anything or makes it worse, I can't quite tell but it's not a huge change.
I can't, there's a lot of personal stuff in there, you'll have to wait about an hour.

nevermind i managed it
excuse the subhuman language
I can't even find an unstable version

Attached: my specs.png (944x980, 116.19K)

it usually defaults to software emulation iirc., this obviously needs to be changed to hardware rendering to speed things up. the options menu is completely retarded. you need to go to the wiki of w/e game you're trying to play and use their recommended options.

what game are you trying to play?

Yakuza, wiki has 4 people all saying it works perfectly for them...

ok, yeah i should have read the thread before commenting.

just read the wiki, it's probably something stupid like setting the right speedhacks, using the right renderer, etc. this emu is super finicky but i've never found a game I haven't been able to play and upscale, your computer is fine and much better than at least one of those potatos that ran it on the wiki.

Have your tried messing this and speedhack settings?

Attached: srhsdjrstj.png (296x48, 2.02K)

but that's the thing, I'm trying and trying changing the settings up and I come up with nothing each time.
I tried looking it up, found a 2011 thread on fucking neogaf where they posted their options, tried it and that didn't work either.

Here are the experimentals

You don't need that anymore

Here's something emulatorfags (I am an emulatorfag) won't usually tell you. There have always been problems with PS2 emulation, they just don't notice, forget, or flatout ignore any problems the game might have. They don't notice things like the shadows being fucked up, etc. as long as it's playable.

I wouldn't mind that too, the thing is the game ISN'T playable since most of the time it runs at about 80% speed.
okay, fingers crossed...

On OpenGL you don't need it.
For some reason openGL ran worse than dx10 here, and dx10 required it when I played it this year.

The fact that you're talking about DX10 is making me cringe. That's been obsolete for years. Get the latest 1.5.0 dev build from here

nope, still runs like crap

dx11, my bad
>using cringe unironically
that's pretty cringe breh

I already posted the dev build link here but you missed it.
