He basically talks about how much of an asset Alyx is (easily could say an allusion to her breaking him out), and that it's required that Gordon gets her to White Forest alive. I assume this is due to her needing to be there for Eli's death, so the time shift shit she pulls in the past can then actually take place and she can be abducted by him.
I know there's no point speculating too much until we have details about HL3, when we get a chance to see how much each of the characters actually recollect Eli being killed. I'm also interested in what happened from Alyx's perspective. Even though she was put in stasis at the end of the new game, she had to be around and kicking for HL2-Ep2 to work. So did the stasis only happen after White Forest? Or did she break out some time between Alyx and HL2?

He is like an HR for some sort of a race that's weaving their webs on Earth using their hires to do dirty jobs. The Combine trapped him using Vortigaunts as a power source. But it looks like he got out either by accident or by someone else from his race's doing. I'm leaning towards the latter, looking at how nonchalant he was during the ending. It looks like Gordon will have fucked up at busting him out in HL:Barney, and then his high brass will have to resort to creating a time paradox (the building) and hiring Alyx prematurely.
