It's weird the way they completely stripped away all of his character development to the point where he's acting like Alex Mercer before the virus got him

Me too. People hate on its protagonist but I didn't find anything wrong with him, just a father after his family, forgettable, but not horrible like some people would claim. Mercer's character was fucking demolished for no reason and even if you read the comic its still fucking retarded. I also remember the PC port having a memory leak that had to have me stop and reset my PC every 3-4 hours of playing, wonder if that ever got fixed.

Probably not and it doesn't play well with AMD drivers either, a misfortune I learned for myself and the fix was to manually remove catalyst registry entries just to get the game to stop chuggin curdled cum. Performance-wise anyhow.

If there ever fucking is then they should just retcon Mercer's character butchering into it being an imperfect clone of himself or some shit. I don't care how dumb it is, anything to get rid of what Prototype 2 did to him.

For me, it’s the Whipfist. Hijacking helicopters and shit was a fucking blast.

I always thought that they could retcon it just by saying that consuming so many people including elizabeth green started turning him insane, and maybe that affects the plot of the next game too with Heller starting to go down the same path after inheriting all the mass and memories Alex had and more

I remember 2's protagonist chimping out at a computer despite him absorbing the scientist's intelligence.

We should get a Venom game with PS4 Spidey's budget that's like Prototype but with less shapeshifting and more crazy combat abilities.

I just remember not liking Heller because he acts so righteously about his own daughter in a game where you go on rampages eating and killing innocent people for fun. It just made him come off as dumb or a hypocrite, whereas Alex you know he's an edgelord so you accept it when you go on a rampage with him in the first game.

Why was this game so fucking fun and why has no other superhero game ever been able to fill that same hole for me?

Blackwatch soldiers were so autistically evil in 2, at least they kinda explained it with the intro where Heller was supposed to be taken off duty due to his mental issues but reinstated to be thrown into the meat grinder that is the red zone

Only problem was how the mutants are all the fucking same. They're glorified punching dummies for you to knock around, which is a role they fulfilled perfectly. But damn, I wish there was a lot more variety in enemies. Fucking with the military was fun, though.

Protoype was fun as fuck because you could basically be a super evil bastard with no repercussions. One of the few games I loved just killing people randomly on. I wish there were more games where you could be an unstoppable monster.

If there's another game, it just needs to ignore P2 and carry on from P1. Maybe the nuke brought Alex back down to basics and he has to unlock his moves again or some shit while getting Dana out of the city.
Even better, have a dynamic infection/extermination mechanic in the city where hives pop up and fight it out with the military in a constant exchange of territory.
Maybe even have Alex create his own Blacklight hive and start producing his own infected abominations loyal only to him.
