once you get past the flimsy tools they dont break, i have the same shovel from when i started so idk why yours is breaking so much. switching tools is tedious but whatever, there are a lot of tedious things in games. You shouldn't play this game with a rushy mindset thinking "oh im gonna do this then this then this then this". I literally just walk around and do whatever, maybe i'll shake some trees with my net out and catch a bug that i see in the area, then i walk past the river with two fish shadows in there and grab them. After 10 minutes of wandering around mindlessly i head to the shop and sell my inventory for 5-20k depending on my finds. doing stuff mindlessly doesnt work as well in this game because of the order of the daily nook+ miles how the hell did your shovel never break? do you ONLY use it to dig up fossils and never use it for hitting rocks? for me, i have to try and keep numbers in my head for the flimsy stuff so "oh if i use this one more time, it will break, time to use it as craft material for the upgraded version". although the OP dug up trees, which i didnt know you could do, i have never done that, but i had 3 flimsy shovels and 1 regular shovel break on me since the "night" of March 19 overall weapons breaking is fucking difficult since everything needs iron ore and iron ore is the mineral that spawns the least for me like i have a bunch of hardwood, softwood, stones, and clay and have 0 iron ore and wood now it changes when you get the town hall, it get good only after playing the game for a couple weeks

Yes, I think each tool recipe requires 1 gold ore. You get them from hitting rocks but the overall odds are pretty low. I've had better success hitting rocks on mystery tours but they're still pretty tough to find. No idea about silver in this game though.

Hey guys. So ive been playing this game since 2 days before world wide release. And I honestly have to say, I’m pretty pissed. They cut out a lot of content. Nooks cranny only has one upgrade, you can’t go to islands with friends, The Gardening Store was cut out, Brewster was cut out, Kicks was also cut out. Dream towns are also cut out, the observatory cut as well. I thought they delayed it to make it better, but from what I can see they just delayed it because they honestly barely started on the game... This feels like a Beta version of the game...
