I'm sick of my JoyCons constantly breaking, is this shit actually worth getting? Or should I just switch to full docked mode and get a Pro controller?

Maybe you should stop being a pussy and make decision like a man.

That's why I'm asking, I don't make decisions without knowing what I'm getting into, I already made that mistake by buying a second set of JoyCons. And buying a third party peripheral is, for me, iffy to say the least.

bump. I was about to make a thread asking the same thing. I already own an NS Mayflash but don't like playing docked.
making decisions like a man is making informed decisions, retard

what are turbo buttons anyway

I got em
I like em
fits in the dock
dpad placement feels better
no rumble and only works in handheld mode tho
also can't wake it from sleepmode with its buttons, you need to hit the switch's power button

I have no idea about that type of controller, but the pro controller is excellent.

How do the analog sticks feel? I hate the way the original Joycon stickC feel so crunchy when moving them around.

>I'm sick of my JoyCons constantly breaking, is this shit actually worth getting?
Yes.
But you have to be ok with no vibration, no gyro, and only works when attached to the switch itself (oh also it doesn't read amiibos, obviously).
If you can live with these limitations, it's BY FAR the best way to play a Switch portable.
Drift or other problems don't exist on this thing.
Oh and it does fit in the dock, imporant to remember.
You hit it once plus a button, it will make that button input over and over again if you hold it.
You hit it again plus the same button, it will automatically press that button for you over and over.
You hit it again plus that button, it resets to normal.

There's a number of applications for this, the most pratical i've seen for me was quickly mashing trough certain menus in Xenoblade 2 when i needed to spam certain pouch items.

Very confy, but makes the switch way beefier. not heavier tho, just a bit ugly

>How do the analog sticks feel?
Great, but compared to a regular joycon, the sticks are bigger.
That means you get the false impression that they have a bigger deadzone at first.
That's not actually the case (tested it by calibrating them, you can't actually recalibrate the sticks but you can use calibration to get a good idea on how they're functioning), and the deadzone is the same, it just gets a moment to get used to how much bigger they are compared to a joycon stick.

I have both, prefer the pro controller. The DxM controller is kinda awkward feeling, maybe I just need to give it more time. It also has no gyro, can only be played in handheld mode, and good luck finding a carrying case it fits in.

>good luck finding a carrying case it fits in
ButterFox makes 'em.

t.women

Thanks dude. Big help.

maybe im just lucky; Ive had a switch for almost 2 years now and Ive had no problem with my joycons at all

I love mine. Worth every penny
That's pretty excellent. I might have to look into getting that. Thanks user

>These are on sale
>Really want them
>GF and I were both laid off over the virus
>What little money we have is going to essential food

It's not fucking fair bros fuck China

Stop being a bitch, grow up, and play on PC.
What?
Do you need to play your Mario and Pikachu in public like a fucking child?

Do these get loose after a while? I'm going apeshit because my left Animal Crossing joycon is already getting loose and slides upwards a little when I'm playing handheld.

>Do these get loose after a while?
They're initially stiff, then they settle into any other stick stiffness.
I wouldn't descrive them as loose or anything, they just start off with a bit of resistance to them, and as you break them in they settle into normalcy and stay that way as far as i've felt them.
They're generally more firm than any of the sticks on any joycon, definitely.

Should've been more clear. I don't mean the joysticks, I mean the railing on the side. The Switch I used to have, the joycons were so loose you could flick them off.

>t. Fork-knife player.

Can't say i've ever had this happen, even with normal cons.
You're holding your switch weird, or applying some sort of consistent long term weight to the upper part of the switch as you play?
The railing is similiar to normal cons so if you're doing some weird shit while playing with them it might also cause problems with these ones.

I hold it like anyone else.

You can play that on your fisher price tablet as well, zoomer.

The main problem with those is that they drain your Switch's battery very fast.

>ask legitimate question about a product
>"MAke uP YoUr MiNd"
>zoomer

Honestly I think my first mistake was replying to a wojak poster.

Maybe you're bending them as you hold the cons?
If you're being rough with them, playing action games mashing a lot, you might be bending the switch itself back and forth, that might loosen the railing.
The railing have good vertical resistance but their weakspot is being bent towards, or away from you like if you were trying to snap your switch, so if you're accidentally doing that during a long period of time it might explain why this is happening.

>Fuck china!
>Buys Chinese made product

What this thigs are named? I want one for me switch.

Nah, nothing like that. Maybe it's because when I play handheld I'm usually lying back on the couch or my bed where I hold it at almost 90 degress. It's like ravity just pulls the tablet down and the joycons slide off because they're held up by my hands.

Hori Split pad pro. they're like $50

yes. pro controller is worth it

The problem is that the latches in your joycons are getting worn out.

You can buy third party metal replacement latches that last much longer.

I figured it was like that. But how are the latches on the Split Pad?

No idea, I don't have the split pad. Hori tends to make good shit though.

>Still no Start/Select buttons.

+ and - replaced Start and Select back when the Wii came out.

they're good pads but can't be used disconnected from the console
also you also lose the kickstand

they stay attached while docked, so its switch to these pro joycons and dump the old ones, assuming you use the pro controller when docked

>Still no Start/Select buttons.

reverse lite when?

my favorite update

Would these work while the Switch is in Android mode?
I've been using mine for Steam Link to play PC games in bed lately.

I mainly play my switch in portable mode, so it doesn't really bother me personally.

I ordered a wired hori controller since I mostly play docked, but might actually get this thing too for the occasional handheld play. Fucking hilarious that both of those combined still cost less than a pair of joycons

Hold on a minute. They attach themselves to the console and lever let go?
How does that even works?

I don't understand how so many of your manage to wear and tear and break your controllers. I constantly play games and have on every console in existence barring the Sega Saturn and I have never once come anywhere close to wearing out a controller and its sticks/buttons/triggers, let alone breaking one.

How much this does this one cost? My right joycon stops working suddenly and the price for a pair is ridiculohs.

No, they just don't have batteries or transceivers so they don't work unless they are connected.

they can't be used wirelessly, so its the direct connection to the console only

the joycons are of absolute trash quality
you know your product is abysmal when the people in charge of making it can't even account for the flex cables bending all the time and eventually breaking
what a cheap pile of shit

I've heard they drain the battery like crazy, can anyone confirm?

The flex cables are inside the controller. They will not move around unless you take the thing apart. You'd have to take your joycons apart a fuck ton of times for the flex cables to break.

Well that settles it. I am getting one of these. A shame that Nintendo couldn’t make these for real considering the amount of shovelwere the SWITCH already has.
If can take them off and play as regularly should and if they can keep working even after years of abuse, it seems like a good deal for the buck.

Possibly true, since they rely on the switch for power.

>You'd have to take your joycons apart a fuck ton of times for the flex cables to break.
>they literally break if you tug on them a little bit too hard
then why do people get bent cables? Why did my SR+SL+LED (which are all part of the same component) stop working? I'm waiting for my fucking triwing screwdrivers to arrive (fuck nintendo for using this garbage aswell) so I can open it up , take a picture of the fucked cable and shove it up your retarded ass

How are your joycon's breaking? If it's drift or unresponsive buttons, then use rubbing alcohol. I just used it a few days ago on all 4 of my joycons and they work good as new. They still drifted when docked but then I found out that was because the dock was behind the TV, not because of the controllers.

whats the point of getting switch if you are going to play tv mode anyway??? if you dont care about portability then you should get a pc or ps4 or even fucking xbone

Attached: 680459497180.jpg (264x300, 8.61K)

joycon drift is just people getting cat hair and dirt in them and living in filth

I mean, if they're retarded enough to fuck up something as simple as a ribbon cable, that's unacceptable.

I've personally had no issues out of my joy-cons.

>werks for me

pro controller is amazing. i use one now and love it. dont know about these, but if they make the joycon bigger its proly better

Not true at all. There's no rumble, gyro, or bluetooth. How the hell could a literal controller with nothing else drain more battery?

Literally the best way to play portable Switch, no exceptions.

>fuck China
fuck your government for mishandling it before it became a goddamn pandemic. Most countries (except South Korea and a few others) are as much to blame for their incompetence as China

Bongs, where the fuck are the switches?
Sold out fucking everywhere apart from the lite and I need something to do during lockdown.

>bought a Switch
That's where you went wrong man.

A man consults his available resources and peers to gather enough information to make an informed decision. You sound like the impulsive buying spawn of a single mother, and also a faggot. Faggot.
