I'm seeing color differences, like more saturation, but is it a lighting system? DS1 had lighting and shaders, and for some unknown reason DS2 just turned them off entirely. It's why it looks like a very basic early 2000's PC or PS2 game and why DS1 looks better. THere's nothing wrong with the models and world for the most part.

I'd prefer they left the textures alone. Just a proper lighting system, not even as good as ds1, would make a huge difference.

Textures are being rescaled and swapped within the DaS2 material sets, there's nothing custom new or awkward. Like for example fixing the brick scaling in all the late rooms in the Forest of the Fallen Giants upper area (Like the room with the bonfire right by the king ring door)

You get a far better idea of the changes if you watch his past streams on twitch, he doesn't post nearly enough pictures of it.

I've seen some people post some gorgeous DS3 screenshots so there's some preset for that game right? The big difference is it fixes the low contrast and grey/haze look that DS3 has and makes it look more like DS1.

It's free, it will release in 2 forms. A mod that is the lighting/texture side of things, and a full version with includes enemy placement changes along with the textures and lighting.

The textures/lighting only version will pass the archive verification test meaning you can use it online safely.

the sword you can get from them is amazing tho, greatsword with a moveset that will catch 90% of pvpshitters offguard. had loads of fun with it

Certain areas like that or Majila looks amazing and gorgeous. Those are areas where it seems liek the limitations of the lack of lighting or shaders doesn't affect it much. Then you get to other areas and it's clearly looks like an early ps2 game.

Claymore. DS2 had the best claymore in the series.

Both this and Partizan are god-tier PvE AND PvP weapons because of the R2s. The strike damage is very useful against armored enemies in PvE and the wide sweep rollcatches people for days in PvP

I know I'm going to sound like that guy but I beat the tigers on my first attempt. I may have been overleveled but it was a while ago and I don't really remember. I do remember rolling like a mad bastard for what felt like a very like time while tigers were coming at me from every which way. I exhausted my estus long before the end of the fight but managed to scrape through.

I really like halberds and spears. Can't really pick my favorite one.

Some screenshots and areas make DS2 look better than 1 or 3 even. 3 has this awful grey haze everywhere. Do you like blue and grey? Because that's the only colors 3 likes. 2 has more variety, and some areas are gorgeous but the internal lack of lighting system at all holds it bakc.
