I'm level 100. Why is the final boss kicking my ass so hard?

Scale-leveling
Because the enemies level when you do.
Do you want to cheese it? Only way I could when I was 10.
Do you keep making this thread? This happened to a friend of mine actually. He grinded to lvl 100 and then couldn’t beat the final boss so he brought over his memory card and asked me to do it for him. He actually didn’t believe me when I told him I beat it.
Prioritize your party members’ health being high above other things and use things like megalixers and the items you’ve been hoarding.
>"Final" Fantasy
>VIII
>final fantasy "viii"
>Yas Forums isnt mentioned once
It's Squall's final fantasy. Everything after Disc 1 is his dying vision.
Well anyways, if you DO want to cheese it, I believe you need to go to the Island Closest to Hell and just repeatedly draw Aura from a monster there. Then during the final boss battle, keep using it on Squall so he can use his limit break over and over.
lrn2junction
>he can't into junctioning
level scaling is fucking dumb
what were they thinking?
Because instead of trying to understand the game's systems you powerlevelled like a scrub and got punished for it.
People unwilling to expand their horizons are incapable of enjoying FF8. Leave the game to those willing to let go of their ego and transcend preconceived knowledge.
Usually I'd agree, but since strength in VIII is tied more to your junctions/GF than level I think it makes for a good system
On an unrelated note, I'm at the missile base segment on disc 2 and can't find the fucking key to open these locked doors at the entrance. Any tips?
I have max HP and 100 Meteors assigned to strength.
it's just odd, grinding serves no purpose, and enemies shouldn't scale with you
>Instead of making dozens of monsters, why don't we just have a decent selection and make them grow stronger along with the player, so they can get stronger spells even if they return to a starting area
Squaresoft was going bankrupt in the late 80s so Final Fantasy was going to be their last game, hence the title. Unknown to them, it would be the start of their biggest franchise.
>I'm at the missile base segment on disc 2 and can't find the fucking key to open these locked doors at the entrance. Any tips?
I think you have to interact with the thing in between the doors.
because FF8 has level scaling and never warns the player
>grinding serves no purpose
Gives you easy access to much better spells and item drops.
then what's the point of having a level system in the first place
idiot trap
unfortunately Square thought too highly of most of it's player base
Imbeciles.
Ultimecia caps at level 65. OP has 35 free levels on her.
it's still levelscaling
And it's completely irrelevant for the situation at hand. It isn't the reason he can't beat her, he's just bad at the game.
scale-level
junctions
also, use items to raise your stats
OP here. This is how my junctioning is set up.
ugly
post a better pic then
can't. selphie is always ugly
I didn't say it had to be selphie
good job being an assumptive ignoramus though
but i was talking about seplhie the whole time
rent free
>level scaling is fine in Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Fallout 4 and Skyrim
>level scaling is fucking evil in FF8
never understood why people have double standards.
because it's done well in those games
plus no mainline FF game before 8 had levelscaling
No she isnt you double liar.
Squall doesnt need Hit since you can do crits manually with r2.
There's a small bit of level scaling on Bizarro Sephiroth and Safer Sephiroth in FF7
All I ever wanted was a Selphie gf
I finished this game without a guide when I was 11. Fuck is wrong with you retards
> INB4 enemies level as you do
Everything at Ultimecia castle is maxed regardless of the player level except maybe Ultimecia herself. and you can beat anything in there, including Omega weapon at your starter level
you have to dissolve your father's card, my friend
Kay.
>any rpg
>wow i'm lvl 99 and the boss is SOOOOO EZ. Where is the challenege?
>ffVIII
>WTF level scaling is BULLSHIT. LEMME LEVEL 1 the final boss LMAOBBQ
literally me
jghg
I haven't played it since around the time it came out, but I seem to recall when I got to the end, Squall was about level 99, and other characters were about 35.
Which is odd for me, because I usually try to keep my levels even.
Does that happen often when playing FF8?
I'm amazed by how good that hat looks on her
This guy gets it. Bosses are capped at a certain level, only enemies in the overworld scale with your level. If OP cant defeat ultimecia, its because hes a dumbass.
Stay at level 1 and beat them all. This is what auto leveling does.
>Does that happen often when playing FF8?
only if you run around grinding right at the start when you only have squall to level
>He used his Holy Wars
He's fucked
Dude, just wait for her to take your HP to 1 and use a Holy War. Then let Squall let er rip. If you've got Rinoa try to roll for Shooting Star. Wait 5 turns and its over.
>he doesnt know
hmghkgkgkgkgkkkkkkkkkghkgkgkgkgkgk
You shouldn't level up.
That's why people that know the game try to rush no encounters with Diablo and only fight to draw magic for junctions and obtain G.F. abilities and such.
>He didn't win a rosetta stone in the prison by playing cards, then wait until after the NORG boss fight before levelling
Point at him.
Point at him and laugh.
Why don't you have auto-haste, auto-life and do non-stop limit breaks?
Didn't you even play the game? The Chocobo World game. The real game.
Does auto-life exist in ff8? I remember checking the spell list and being surprised reraise wasnt there
Based and STR/VIT/MAG/SPRpilled
No. But it's all the same shit really. Point is, Boko the chocobo's quest to find his waifu was the real game.
Because it's hard
