Just got halfway through Super Gore Nest and I feel like I've already completed an entire campaign's worth of content so far. I scroll through the Codex and I see there's seven enemies I have yet to encounter. How much fucking content did they stuff into this game? The effort that devs poured into here is a breathe of fresh air.

honestly yeah, originally i thought the levels being larger would make them feel kinda empty but the levels have a reason to be this large and its pretty nice

Shocking to see a game that the devs actually gave a shit about during development. Everything the seems like a labor of love.

Games great, the only 2 main issues I have is that the fast travel mechanic is useless because you can only use it mid-mission and if you have to leave, then you are forced to redo the mission again to unlock them. That and Doomguy fucking talking

well fast travel was most likely built to look for secrets amd it always unlocks just before the level ends.
why do you have an issue with Doomguy talking? his voice is fine and what he says is pretty appropriate to how he know him and to top it all off he only has 3 lines

I think the game is somewhat too long, but it's a good ride and introduces cool stuff through its entirety.

the talking parts were so short it was inoffensive, and does well to paint doomguy as literally mentally broken before he found purpose in being a dedicated demon holocoaster. Plus, the VA for him is pretty damn good. I expected to hate it but I thought it was p cool to be frank

i would take less levels in order to make them less linear and with more open arenas, some of the fights in corridors just fucking suck specially against archviles or barons

Its not the voice acting or the dialogue I take issue with. Its just the principal of him talking at all. Being a slaughterhouse in a suit of armor is what works best for Doomguy and making him talk just ruins it IMO.

meh, i imagine it more as this was before he was so unbelievably insane that he just couldnt even speak anymore. it fits since the flashbacks take place after Doom 64

i don't see the problem with doomguy talking, especially since it's just lines you'd expect from the comic and repercussions of evil

When "GOTY" is a poor, story-heavy clone of the vastly superior original Doom (DOS), I think we're just about done with gaming.

the codex' state that after a while in his sentinel training he just stopped talking altogether. The doomguy in the flashbacks is doom64guy, the one who locked himself in hell by choice.

I never imagined looking for all the secrets in a Doom game was fun, but it is.
The maps are also very well done and everything feels polished and fresh, even the arenas.

Ultimately it wasnt a big deal and I was still able to push past it and enjoy the experience. I can understand why other anons wont mind because it was so minimal, but it was off putting for me at first.

I can understand nerfing the punch from how strong it was in 2016 in favor of the blood punch, but they nerfed it to be completely useless which pisses me off

I think the platforming is fun. Swinging on the bars feels nice, especially when you pair it with the rune that enhances your speed after a glory kill.

There shouldn't even be the option to melee (besides the retarded blood punch and the glory kills) if it's just gonna be useless. I really don't like the dependence on glory kills.
Platforming like this doesn't work well in the game. I'm really just talking about the sections where you HAVE to platform. No enemies, slow turning with you gimp arm hanging out, and just slow in general.

Yeah, I understand why some people don't like it but I think it's neat. It feels satisfying to me at least to nail a jump from across a long chasm.

Played the tutorial, finished the first mission and skipped the cringe cutscene.

I haven't launched the game since because they jumped the shark so hard and went in a totally different direction. Good thing I didn't pay for it either.
