the 2008 recession wasn't nearly as bad as the great depression. the gdp decline and peak unemployment aren't even comparable. what *did* turn out to be bad was the fake "recovery" built on an unsustainable, overleveraged "sharing economy," which explains why we're seeing record unemployment numbers now.
