Your reputation, if you take this deal, will be shot to fuck as an indie. Only big game devs like Gearbox or Rockstar can survive that kind of shit.
Your game won't fucking sell on the EGS. Nobody is interested in generic indie game #32523 on Steam, they won't be on EGS.
These two combined means you'll be reliant on Epic's cash, and eventually they'll run out. Deals like RDR2 and Borderlands 3 exclusivity are expensive as fuck and the Fortnite money train can't keep riding forever.

Rami doesn't actually seem to work on any of Vlambeer's games, he's just the guy that yells online a lot and sometimes markets them. Jan-Willem seems to be the actual brains behind "their" games.

The only problem with Epic is that nothing lasts forever and the general consumer is obviously not committing to Epic's game launcher. There's no real point to pretend like its not true, we all know Epic won't last in this market. So anyways if you keep signing Epic's deals it will run dry eventually, and then you end up with a bunch of angry faggots who you know "were wrong" that hate your company and will shitpost PR endlessly for each release. Not that that really matters to most, it probably would be more cost effective for a small company to make deals with Epic, but countless large companies are not banding with Epic since it wouldn't be worth it for them.
I think the question here is if the devs that could make more money by signing into Epic have that sort of artist's itch to want to be loved. You know, its a question as to whether or not they consider flattery from fans to be the fruit of their work.
