there's nothing wrong with being homosexual user, just admit it

Its a completely different universe.. you have zero idea about how this specific species of Human has progressed socially and politically.

I can only imagine the sweat, the shortness of breath, the near disabling levels of anxiety that triggers in you when you are confronted with this stuff that you tricked yourself into caring about, when in reality, you don't.

>noooooooo, women can't be guards in my fantasy world

You're shitposting, right? That's not actually the case?

This, but unironically.
Unless they're scantily clad and have bouncing tits, then they can.

holy btfo

>medieval society

So I guess in a short few years which passed between the events of T1 and T2 their society suddenly discovered feminism and got a huge influx of refugees from the southern isles?

Thief, Deus Ex and System Shock 2 are all on my to play list for 2020. What should I start with? Any other lesser known classics in a similar vein?

Arx Fatalis.

who cares about this shit when both females and niggers make terrible guards in a white society

the original system shock has a source port now with easy controls you should play it

go back to your containment board, there you don't have to pretend you play video games
Start with Deus Ex, also add Ultima Underworld, Arx Fatalis and maybe Dark Messiah to that list

Thief is the only one that truly holds up these days, mostly because stealth genre never developed since that time or developed in retarded direction (MGS). SS2 is a prototype for Bioshock series and Prey, if you played these games you already know what it has to offer. Deus Ex is a pretty terrible game only cherished for its le redpill meme plot.

Female guards were actually a thing. A lot of what people know about medieval society are from things based on the ideal situation of fucking being a king

Realistically life was complete shit and women worked just as hard as men did outside of high royalty.

>using niggers as slave labor
what's wrong with this exactly? it's accurate

Kys retard

me wuz gordin tha doar tonite and i swear shawntal dindu steal yo money homie

>pirate thief
NOTHING WRONG WITH ME

there are no black guards in thief II
I know because I just played it recently

atleast don't make shit up if you gonna make a Yas Forums falseflag shitpost thread

>Realistically life was complete shit and women worked just as hard as men did outside of high royalty.
In the fields, yeah. Guards and lawmen were an extension of the armed forces and were only staffed by men

The stupid part is that this wasn't even in the first game at all. Thief 2 takes place within a year after the first game and you see no female or swarthy guards anywhere. Where did all the female guards come from? Hell, all the people int he Church of the Builder are males, but then the Mechanist sub-sect of this church sprouts up and it's filled with Women. Where they they even come from? It's less of them being there and more of them not fitting in to the lore in regards to the original title. They just show out out of nowhere.

He';s not lying, have you played Thief?

Depends on the area, actually.

Nobles would probably rely on it but even town watches had women in them. Guards weren't like police, just watchmen. Government guards, like for the shit breaking into castles or something would only be men

>medieval society

>Guards weren't like police, just watchmen
You're thinking of 21st century mall cops

>half the guards are black
yes he is lying, there were female guards in the city watch but his above sentence is not even hyperbole it's just straight up bullshit

I really enjoyed the first part of Thief Gold... when I was fighting humans and stealthing around stealing shit. Then they introduced fucking zombies and spiders and they were so annoying and tedious that I gave up. You can’t even sneak around them. How lame.

No, I'm thinking of watchmen.
The entire point of fucking private watchmen (eg no for the king's guard) was just to deter thieves. They didn't go around fucking fist fighting thieves. They literally were meant to just be a deterrant and then if shit go out of hand, they'd make noise to wake up the rest of the fucking 15+ guards

At this point stick to games for your kind. Fallout 4/76, Mass Effect Andromeda and Borderlands 3.

>first half of Thief Gold is fighting humans
Did you even play the game? The supernatural stuff starts from the second mission.

What's with all the secondary Thief fans in this thread?

fuck off, as zoomer born in 2000 thief & deus ex are both in my top9 (didn't get into ss2 though)

Not true. To some degree the world of Thief is rooted in our universe.

None, kill yourself you fucking zoomer and play whatever trash heap games that were made for you retarded fucking zoomies.

>you cant sneak around them
But you can? Zombies, for example, have the worst memory of all enemies and will forget about you if you squat in the shadow for 2 seconds. I dont remember how burricks work, but Im pretty sure you can blackjack their asses (which doesnt really make sense, its like blackjacking a cow)

Half of Thief Gold is at best unremarkable or total trash. The other half at worst is unremarkable or at best totally great.

That's a mall cop
Guarding markets, warehouses and the like was the work of the garrison. There were no private watchmen because for most of the medieval period commoners weren't even allowed to own any weapon other than a large knife. What else could they do other than fist fight thieves if they weren't part of the city guard?

Stop making shit up just to be difficult, guy

Has there ever been an attempt at designing the entire City by fans?

Again sweetie, government things are different.

You also forgot to mention that you shouldn't have any qualms about killing zombies/burricks since they don't apply to the kill count, and it's how it should be. Why have an contempt for killing zombies? Just blow them up with holy water or attack them til they go down and run away.

Gold > 2 > 1

I just got to the second level on my first playthrough of thief 1. The one in the mine with the zombies. I'm getting filtered pretty hard, almost called the quits at Lord Bafford's mansion, but then I saw a cool screen shot of a twisted hallway and decided to keep going. Any must know tips for a first timer? Does holy water do anything besides dispel the insects around a zombie?

Same

I always liked Thief, but the random guard shift always felt weird to me.

The main religious institution had a huge schism which revolutionized the entire society, what did you think the metal age was all about? Karras wanted as many followers as possible so of course he would allow women where the Hammers didn't.

So you didn't even make it to the medieval security cameras and medieval mechs? Good for you.

Holy water kills the undead (pointless to waste against zombies but will be great when haunts show up), so do the flashbangs. If a level as simple as the prison filters you just quit now because Thieves Guild will make you howl

I tried all but never finished one
Boomer games have incredible atmosphere but are boring to play because their gameplay is outdated now.

lel nice

if the game's atmosphere hasn't captivated you by that point you might as well quit. the thing that makes thief special is the sound design, how alive the world feels, the guard interactions and the lore... etc

Accurate

Didn't the Mechanists just take people from the Hammerites?

Correct

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic for your stealth fps gameplay

That too, but they also accepted new recruits from other walks of life that were not directly tied to the hammerites, like tinkers and inventors. They started as a splinter faction that quickly became the major religious power, it's unlikely that everyone mechanist was an ex-hammerite.

Female mages and cyborgs are a different thing cause magic and made up sci-fi technology is a great equalizer. But characters that are supposed to be just regular females performing as well as men in physically and intellectually demanding fields, well that's a yikes for me dawg.

Damn so it's like that huh? I think I'll probably just do what I usually do and force myself to finish it anyway, have a miserable time, and trash talk it whenever I see a thief thread. God I hate video games.
