Its a hella epic game for dummies and teens.
Playing nudoom is the equivalent of watching mainstream news.
Its the Joe Biden of fps games.
It caters to this oblivious, hyped idiot type consumer who lives on buzzwords and inanities.
Its as if a bunch of has beens and marketers gathered in a room and tried to think about what the youngsters like and then just shoved it into one game.
Its the feel of the game and everything surrounding it.

The marauder is easily the worst part about the newest title. He's completely antithetical to how you deal with everything else in the game, probably because they had no idea how to make a "bad guy doom guy" enemy without giving him retarded bullshit. Everything else in the game besides one boss fight you can kill however you want, with whatever weapon you want. Not this faggot. He's cool exactly once, and that's when he's introduced. After that he's just a boring slog.

In fact I fucking hate this lack of ammo trend in shooters now.

Remember Halo? We had 600 rounds for the AR, 72 rounds for the shotgun, 120 for the pistol. I liked it, it was a first person SHOOTER where you had a gun and you fucking SHOOT things.

Fast forward to Halo 5, constantly running out of ammo, having to scrounge every 5 seconds for a new weapon that has a half empty magazine. And the enemy you just slew isnt carrying ammo. Its fucking annoying and I hate it. I predict for Halo 6 you will carry jiust one magazine of any weapon at any one time because then its 'zoom zoom gogo pick up new weapon and smash lol'

In Doom Eternal you start off with just 12 rounds for your shotgun. What the actual fuck lmao. And dont tell me to use the chainsaw, whats the fucking point of halving the ammo and then forcing you to use a chainsaw to replenish it?

It gets worse and worse, 5 years from now first person shooters will just give you the fucking gun with no ammo ever if this trend continues. Its just there to hold, look at and you have to melee everything and use grenades.

There were so many instances in 2016 where I was with no ammo, and no gas canisters - which meant me running around the whole damn arena for the first 5 minutes so I can get a punch+glory kill or a canister or some stray shell or two for the shotgun.

Fact: Eternal's resource management is miles better than 2016 and most of the FPS's out there

Not really considering that there are only 4 ammo types in the game. What it does do is it makes your more powerful weapons (ballsack, super sawed off, chain) more costly to use.

I just did the boss encounter on master mode (the actual boss encounter is significantly more difficult than the later popups) and just felt the need to fucking punch him for my followups on the stagger. I'm sure it didn't do as much damage, maybe the blood punches did, but it sure felt great to wind up on that cunt's jawplate.

I kinda love how underwhelming some of his kill animations are, just disrespectfully short, like boop crushed your head now that imp has my attention

Honestly if not for the unskippable cutscenes in 2016, it probably would've been better than Eternal. At least Eternal has a constant, uninterrupted game flow.

They removed any need to care for health or ammo at least when you got your upgrades and weapons.
Just so they could avoid putting any thought into enemies or level design. Any random arena will do.

Just walk in a circle shooting the balista at anything big while randomly switching to a different weapon doesn't matter which one for some smaller enemies. Spam your cooldowns for free ammo and armor.

Get hit? No problem my dude. Enjoy the one-shot protection and adaptive health gain so there's no actual risk for you, you'll be full without any planning of how you should be going through the environment.

That's it for the hate part. Just gimmicks to empower scrubs to feel good. Otherwise they did create a decent fun game but it has no re-playability for me.

If you ran out of ammo in 2016, that was completely your fault wasting ammo or not upgrading ammo. If you run out of ammo in eternal, you just motor blade an enemy and you're good. Makes the game infinitely more causal.

It looks like Metroid Prime or something with all the platforming and literal Nintendo style floating fireball chains spinning in the air and all these point systems are lifted straight from other games' gameplay loops. The forced story is a joke, at least in 2016 Doomguy literally refused to take part in it as a gag.
Gunplay is a little hit & miss, music is good and the gore system on the enemy models is nice but other than that I think the game is pretty mediocre. Reminds me a bit of Rage 2 but with the meme marketing to actually back it up. Big fuck you to Brutal Doom for ruining the franchise with these glory kills.
Not my Doom/10, Bethesda can have it.

This is true for many levels in the originals if you actually wanna kill most enemies. You could say they're also "forcing" you to use mechanics. But to anyone who isn't a brainlet that means good game design. Devs shouldn't actually put mechanics in the game that don't do anything.

But I think they are bad in nuDoom, especially in Eternal, they look like they took bad designed leftovers from quake 3.

Serious Sam (at least the 1, the only one I played) has less enemies, Painkiller probably has more but the game has enemies that don't move from their spot like the long range projectile casters, and the arenas are waaaay bigger, on average both games you have consistantly less enemies on screen in the big battles.

They are not, but implementation of it suck in both nudoom games.

you know it was like 3 years before I saw a video of this level of play on doom 2016. It must have really inspired some people to master it in the style of old high mobility arena shooters, and clearly eternal has delivered that experience again when this is getting mastered again so quickly by the dedicated, I think not only the existence of this vid but the fact that it happened immediately on release debunks the shitters complaining about the new mechanics pretty handily

The beginning levels were challenging like I said because of lack of tools after that it gets easier by the halfway point I really didn't die anymore.

the master levels at least throw more shit at you, but like I said; the game would be a lot better if they threw more enemies at you.
I have noticed the collision with enemies can get annoying too, which could be another issue with the game.
either way, I'm still having fun with it, but it's definitely not something that is breaking any boundaries.
