2D sonic are way too much overrated. They want both to be a normal plattaformer and a “press right to awesome”, which kinda breaks the game. You end up playing it in a slow/medium speed until there is a speed movement in which you see your character run until it finishes. I mean, they aren’t bad, they are playable at least i can force myself to finish it when bored, but idk it could be done better if they choosed one of the two options. That’s why i preffer sonic boost game, yeah they’re game that are simply “press square and sometimes jump to see the hedegoh doing cool things” but at least it doesn’t deny it. The problem is Sega mostly do bad sonic games, so which translate to bad sonic boost games.

People only like Classic Sonic just to be "hip" and fit in. Nobody actually enjoys those games anymore. They're dated as fuck.
Remember when people trying to act like CD was the best Sonic game, the
sega remastered, everyone played it and realised it was only ok and inferior to the others 2D sonic games? That’s just usual on the sonic fanbase
It's fine to have a preference but I think one can definitely say that
2d games have more non linear paths than 3d boost games, making them more replayable
2d games have more fun physics, that 3d boost games can sorely use. Running down a hill in a boost game doesn't change your speed. Even Adventure games make you go faster down hills.
Aside from Unleashed, boost games have been lacking in the story department.
I must say that both your points are true. And is still kinda sad that team sonic, in the fourth times they tried, they couldn’t replicate the same physics from old sonic games, which was one of their best poinst
Sonic games are replayable. Going as fast as possible is rewarding for people like me who memorized the game and learn how to use the physics properly.
I don't replay games anymore, and I expect most adults don't. That's why there's so many new Sonic players who complain that they can't go fast. It's not the game's fault, you're just beginner.
>another one that doesnt understand the concept of trial and error, memorizing, learning right paths and replayability
The problem is that Sonic Team isn't composed of the same people who were members of it earlier. A lot of young talent from Sonic Team, left Sega after Unleashed and worked on Mario Odyssey at Nintendo.
Sega needs some of their old talent back, and a different direction in general
idk user, i don’t to learn to git gud at a game, but have fun. if they game is enoigh fun then latter i want to git gud and have a high school, but first i need a “hook”
2D games are great and if you played them yous know just how wrong you are. Suck my dick.
