Spiritual successor, retry their hand at doing the whole HP lovecraft bullshit story that 2 pushed and emphasis on the mute protagonist thing because they took my immersion away with isaac in 2.
start by remaking 1 and take the story in a new direction for the sequel
The answer is obvious

Really not feeling the voice acting jesus christ
its too fucking dark, like this guy needs to calm down with that lighting and rescale the character model because thats too big
It's incredible
>HOOOLY FUCK WHAT IS THAT
>GOOOOD DAAAMIIITTT
I actually like that (ironically, it's soulfully bad like commander boreale in DoW). The problem is the girl
Oh yeah the computer girl sounds super bland, but I like the MC's voice, it's charmingly terrible
fpbp
Fuck sequels/remakes/remasters in general.
By having Arkane developing it
That monster is actually quite frightening but man that acting
>HOLY FUCK, WHAT IS THAT
Retcon the entire thing. Tell the same story loosely again, remake Zelda style. It’s just fiction after all no need to have any sort of continuation.
I don't know how you would continue it - implying that the ending of 3 wasn't a hallucination earth is fucked and so is isaac and carver. The only thing that comes to mind would be a new character trying to amass alliances and an armada to take the fight to the brethren moons with technology that counters them. (Alliances and Armadas though would literally kill the spirit of Dead Space as it's suppose to be lonely and scary as hell - especially if aliens were included in this fictional armada)
Yeah I'm kinda torn thinking about it. On one hand, I really liked Isaac, on the other mute protagonist really worked well in the first one too.
EA
HIRE THIS MAN!
Dead Space: Issac
skip to around 3:00, there's no way this was intended to be serious
Yeah that wouldn't really fit well. That would just seem like it's trying to be Mass Effect.
Those zombies move like they're right out of Cry of Fear
Don't you mean,
>Dead Space: Ellie
Have it follow a different character, make it take place in the past on those ships you explored in dead space 3.
no idea how the lore and stuff would work, but I'd just want new weapons.
alright here's what you do -
Left 4 Dead but Dead Space.
Jump it 30-50 years into the future.
Earth was consumed and survivors live on colonist ships. Story focuses on new character who's job is to salvage supplies from abandoned ships and Earth's surface.
STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP
>On one hand, I really liked Isaac,
I really don't get why so many people feel this way, a silent protagonist was pretty much perfect for the type of game Visceral was going for but then in 2 they turned him into a snarky wisecracking Nathan Drake action hero and completely ruined any horror elements for me
That sounds like what they had planned for Dead Space 4, and honestly it doesn't sound that bad after Dead Space 3's DLC.
I didn't really get snarky wisecracking from Isaac I got moreso a scared shitless depressed man. I agree though that I like silent protag better.
No need for retcons. Have 4 about Isaac saving Earth from the necromoons
>All out war on the surface between Earthgov remnants, Unitologist rebels and the rising Necromorph tide
>Isaac must go deep beneath the sea to find the original marker where Altman sank it long ago so it can be used to weaken the moons. Cue plenty of underwater segments functioning like zero-g
>It ends with Isaac dismembering the moons with the cannons of an overrun battleship, which just happen to be arrayed in the same shape as a plasma cutter
I replayed DS2 again a couple months ago and he has more than a few smartass one liners. I dunno, it just kind of ruined it for me and is probably the main reason why the first game is still my favorite one
Part of the horror is that the player feels alone because they don’t even get humanity from Isaac.
>It ends with Isaac dismembering the moons with the cannons of an overrun battleship, which just happen to be arrayed in the same shape as a plasma cutter
This is just stupid enough to be awesome
This.. Not having any dialogue really hammered home how alone you were in that game.
It's basically the most logical way to reset the series while also keeping within the themes of the first games.
Preferably this. Something new with the spirit of the first 2.
But if it were a revival I'd follow a new protagonist, divorced entirely from Isaac and the rest, follow their journey and discovering both what we already know and new things post 3. Maybe have an extra lair of mystery where we can see evidence of Isaac's journey but we never fully learn what happened to him. Gameplay-wise I'd do away with fighting humanoid enemies at all and go back to slightly slower horror, keeping 1's pacing and 2's ironed out mechanics in zero-G and weapon variety. Play with the idea of the necromorphs/markers being able to assimilate allies and pre-infected enemies or NPC's like a better version of the Thing game from ps2. Keep a silent protagonist but a variety of non-enemies that can become threats for the feel of paranoia, maybe make it so you're not an engineer so you can't do things that Isaac was able to do in order to progress.
I don't know how you guys can't fucking love that over acting, full ham, too angry to die voice acting. I'd buy it just to hear him scream obscenities.
>indie game looks bad
>made with unreal engine
every fucking time
Port DS Mobile to PC and retcon 3
>mobileshit
disgusting
Retard. It's a prequel to Dead Space 2 and the best spinoff game to come out of the franchise.
I do love it, it's hilarious and hammy as fuck
Dead Space VR
get ready to shit your pants when you encounter Stalkers
FEMALE PROTAGONIST
good mobileshit is still mobileshit. cope
I have some idea. I'm not a writer or anything so if it's shit then that's why.
>Dead Space 4 begins with the Awakening ending being a hallucination
>Earth still has some time left. Isaac and Carter formulate a plan to stop the moons. >They realize that their only real chance is the planet crackers.
>After their explanation to some earthgov guys is dismissed as the insane ramblings of some lunatics, Isaac and Carter are imprisoned.
>time skip the moons invade!!
>This allows Isaac and Carter to perform a jail break amidst another necromorph attack
>they reunite and decide to look for a planet cracker.
>conveniently there is one still on earth.
>majority of the game takes place in rundown spooky ishimura like ship for nostalgia points and max scary, and it's just isaac and carter trying to repair the ship
>also ellie hallucinations because why not
>big twist is that ellie is dead or some shit
>because DS3 exists some human soldiers have to exist as enemies
>earthgov soldiers trying to contain outbreak and reimprison you
>unitologists trying to save the moon
>final battle is planet cracker vs moons
i don't know if the dead space universe really deserves a good ending but GOD isaac deserves so much after the shit he's been through
>7:10
This game's writing is incredible.
That's actually kind of cool
Ramshackle colony ship fleeing earth gets stranded in a mysterious and growing debris field full of ships infested necromorphs, first act traversing wrecks both old and actively infected, second act unitologists discovered as cause for refugee ships being rerouted along with enhancing resultant necromorphs with makeshift armor and mining tools as an enemy roster update, final act moons arrive to consume the debris and colony ship infested but the protagonist blows it all up the end. Melee combat rework and nonlinear ship to ship exploration the primary mechanical gimmick.
DS1 & DS2, with no changes, except now being in VR w/ melee.
Do a prequel, player is Altman at the original black marker site on Earth in the near-ish cyberpunk future based on the novel. We get to explore the origins of the series lore as well as the makings of turning a regular man into a martyr to jumpstart a cult turned religion.
Weapons are improvised construction/excavation tools similar to the original set; cutter, linegun, ripper, flamethrower, detonator, javelin/rivet analogues.
Seethe and dial 8, transcel.
Already happened, and she was actually pretty good.
Remaster 1 and 2, all DLC properly ported and added (implemented well in the game).
Good PC ports.
>How would you revive it today? (besides retconning 3)
Does Deadspace have Cryofreezing/Stasis sleep for long trips, maybe for prisoners?
It does now.
You play a prisoner/awakened person who is revived by the chaos of the religious civil war launched by the Unitologists/Earth being consumed by the Necromorphs. You fight to escape the planet, managing to do so just shortly before the Brother Moons arrive to consume everything. In the aftermath, you return to investigate a lone distress signal, as earth itself has been stripped bare and the moons have left.
The distress signal is Isaac's ship from the end of 3, he's survived somehow in the wreckage. Otherguy didn't. Isaac is now batshit crazy and fixated on killing the moons once and for all. His plan involves hunting down each moon and destroying it with a planet cracker.
There is no hope for humanity (probably). Only revenge.
nice projection tranny. stop having shit taste and you won't have to seethe so much
Why can't they just make a game with no voice acting aside from grunts? Look at Doom 64, just make Dead Space mixed with Doom 64 and you got the perfect successor.
It's so strange how the franchise was once on top of the world and mega popular with spinoffs and other media and now is largely forgotten
As good as Deadspace was, Deadspace 2 and Issac absolutely losing his shit and swearing when you repeatedly stomp was better
EA happened
Yeah. It seems like for a while EA wanted isaac to be their mascot
Of course the stupid faggots on this board appreciate this godawful writing and acting; It's complete cringe.
EA was pushing hard for the dudebro 18-25 demographic during that period, with marketing like YOUR MOM WOULD HATE DEADSPACE and the fake protests for Dante's Inferno. They never quite manifested the response (AKA Profits) they wanted, and then DS3 failed to perform to their absolutely mental expectations despite all the jewry and executive meddling crammed into it, they took the series out back and killed it. Like they always do.
EA is a vulture capitalist company. It's essentially a parasite, living off the decay of others.
FUCK YOUR MARKER
A game where you play as an 'illegal' space junker/engineer, and you get trapped on some old ships with necromorphs sounds appealing. Just you, the ships and necromorphs.
Think like urbex, how people go into old buildings and take all the scrap and copper wires to sell them.
GODDAMNIT I TRUSTED YOU
i love that he's so fucking done his first reaction is rage
Junking in abandoned ships ala the first part/orbit part of DeadSpace 3 is unironically what the developers wanted/intended for Deadspace 4 if they ever got to make it, just scavenging in the ruins of humanity alone and isolated.
I miss when the suits actually had a unique, memorable design and didnt just look like the generic sci-fi bullshit of DS3
I don't care for playing as Ellie.
Just playing some nameless dude who has suits that look like Isaac's on some abandoned ships, while looking for junk and fighting scary monsters is very appealing to me.
It's a minimalist approach that'd work well with that indie game too if they didn't try to make angry Doom man.
Was this supposed to be funny?
