my favorite ff

Probably the best FF game, this or FF8. I like the world of FF9 more but 8 is the only ps1 FF game they actually managed to finish on time.

Best game of the PSX era and my personal favorite of the entire series.

VII can suck tranny cloud's dick.

I hate how when I try to look up Garnet online, I get flooded with Steven Universe shit.

Based and retropilled
The strategy guide can go fuck itself though

Have you heard this unreleased track before? There's comments in multiple vids of it saying it was intended for a boss fight with Beatrix at the Iifa tree, but who knows if that's true.

Garnet's soft butt!

Best characters, best world, best music. Easily a contender for best FF game ever. Disappointing final boss, though the penultimate one more than makes up for it.

The sad thing about dying is never being able to play this game ever again.

>...and there's a giant green harp at the bottom, baby. Then a smaller tree shows up outta nowhere, it's insane.

Necron isn't the total asspull that I thought it was as a kid. Necron explains just before the fight how Kuja's actions were a type of cosmic irony that invalidated the idea of life itself.

ends tomorrow

I'm still bothered by the lines that weren't translated in the English version, except as ... and other shit that got lost in translation.

IX, X and X-2 were the peak of the series

t. played almost every FF ever made

Still hate ATB and the main character's weapon choice but I impressed all 100 nobles.

Best final fantasy and one of my favourite games of all time

what the fuck? so garnet was actually talking that whole time?

When I marathoned all of the Final Fantasy games, it was one of three that I was glad to be done with, sorry to say. I might have appreciated 9 more had I not played 1-8 before it.

bruh you don't really need to impress the 100 nobles and the elephant woman.
there's like 3 extra moonstones somewhere in the game.

No. But there are things that didn't get translated.

Off the top of my head, when you talk to Vivi in the Prima Vista and all through that Mr. Zidane spiel, he says "..." if you talk to him again.

In the Japanese version it's something like "I found a way to be helpful." (Or something like that.)

Rescuing Garnet from Alexandria has another example when Brahne talks.

Eiko talks in third person as well...

It was more of a personal thing. Did it on my second try though so I'm not too ashamed. I'm not old yet, dammit.

>you don't really need to impress the 100 nobles
cope harder

It's very good. Vivi's one of the best written character, Squeenix's magnum opus.

>I impressed the 100 nobles and I all got was this lousy moonstone
lmao

my favorite one in the franchise

To this day, I'm still proud I've completed this game at level 1.

a 11/10 game turned into a 7/10 because of the faggot amarant

chibi can ruin anything

Necron himself came out of left field but he's still one of my more favorite FF final bosses cause his fight is good and the music is kino.
>That transition to the battle theme right as the party is floating up to face him.

Tried playing it last year. Interesting first disk. Second disk became boring filler and I gave up. So pretty much like any FF game.

Zidane was surprisingly refreshing for a FF protagonist, but none of the other characters (or story) captivated me. And it has the slowest fucking combat in any JRPG ever. Probably why there's so little of it. I had to go out of my way and grind just to get basic skills learned. I mean, the highest level armor in the first disk only takes 120 battles to learn, and I was halfway through Disk 2 before I finished it.

Too slow

game's kinda childrish

big dumb heads
little monkey man bow tie
faggot shit

>I couldn't impress 100 nobles
Keep on copin'...

Good game, story, graphics an music. Nice way to bow out of the PS1 era. Also, has one of the best girls.

I hope you all are smart enough to realize that Vivi narrates the epilogue and dies before ever seeing Zidane had survived.

Good, shame PS4 version is trash

2nd best behind 4

I thought it was Zidane dreaming/being in a delirious state after that final Kuja encounter.

It doesn't have any of Beatrix's musical themes in it as far as I can tell. At 00:11 it has what sounds like the backing of Terra's theme in the really synthy instrument.
youtube.com/watch?v=J31c0Q6WXys
My thought would be maybe a Terra version of the Iifa tree.

moguri is a godsend

Named my daughter Beatrix cause of this game. Yeah I kinda like it.

>entire city obliterated, people possibly killed that depended on you for survival
>ok next scene
>some black mages fall off a ship
>sad cut scene time

Great game. My favorite, however it does stand to some fair critisim. The loading time when you enter a new zone for a random battle takes a long time. After that it loads normally, dont know why but it does.
Story is a very Story Book style mixed with darker tones that question mortality.
Design and world build is beautiful but its not for everyone.
Characters are the highlight of the game each having their own meaning and struggles along the way.

Can anyone explain to me what / who Necron is and why he is the final boss?

Every single time this game comes up everybody says that Necron just appears out of nowhere with no real explanation or reason

>Zidane was surprisingly refreshing for a FF protagonist, but none of the other characters (or story) captivated me.
you are a good man and should have a bountiful of children

Necron was pretty much what you get when you destroy the Universal crystal. He is an Eraser, not death but erases the concept of death. The crystal was supposed to be the perfect balance of life and death but with it gone you are given something that was on the path of creating a void.

1000 rope skips gives you an absolutely useless item but I still do it every time
I entered the Zone once and did 3333 skips just because I could

kinda like, look what I can do moment?

Something like that, but mostly I was just enjoying the feeling of absolute control

the only people I met that actually like FF9 were furries that liked it "cuz it was cute and chibi xD *glomp*"

stop hanging around furries dude.

The first disc and the start of the second is top tier comfy, before they start getting into world-ending threats. I like the whole game but there's a special kind of magic to the early parts

The Italian translation was great, hands down the best part of the game for me. I quit at some point during the second or third disc though.

Attached: ffix-quina-cit.jpg (1440x704, 282.21K)

I figured he was just a metaphor for the character's collective fear of death, like it was a symbolic boss battle or something

>Be me
>Be young, don't know English yet
>Mom buys FFIX
>We have gaming days where she plays it and me and my sis watch
>Translates everything to us so we know what's going on
>She runs from many fights and gets stuck often but its still fun to watch
>Did the same with Grandia
I wanna go back bois.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels so, I love the later parts of the game too but if it was that it wouldn't feel nearly as special if you weren't saving that comfy world from the first parts of the game.

Best game ever made.
