Now that Alvis is a blade, does that make Shulk a driver? I can see how they can make this happen because already had the power to decide who get to use the monado and who doesn't in the original game, we saw that in the final battle.
But there is still some other weird things that break the some rules about blades, because Alvis has multiple weapons that are use by different people.

We've speculated about this years ago in XB2 threads about Alvis.
Alvis is separate from the Blade/Aegis system since he disappeared from XB2's universe when Klaus pushed the button, which was before he created the Blade system and repurposed Logos and Pneuma into Aegises.
Alvis is from the Trinity Processor, but he predates the Blade system and got sucked into Xenoblade 1's universe before the Blade system was created.
He's more like a personified version of the conduit rather than an Aegis.
