Smashfags have no taste

fuck off

it is within Hero's nature to suffer, so that's the standard. Joker is still a poor as shit rep. He should have been able to summon other demons besides his default one.

I'm more surprised they didn't put the MC from 4.

Relevancy, you dingus

Nah Joker was reasonable.
P4 was big and really popular, but P5 is a freakin monster that's even more popular.

maybe SMTV will get a shill pick

i love smt 1 and kazuya and all but if we got an smt rep it should've been flynn or demi-fiend

>could’ve used multiple personas
>instead has a shitty bar gimmick that punished the other player for being better

Should've been Jack.

Wouldn't Aleph make more sense?

Hero has suffered enough, why would you want to force him into a kusoge on top of everything else?

Attached: 1558646875638.jpg (640x437, 192.64K)

No shit, the series gets worse with every installment

I would thank god for not bringing cancerous smashfags to smt but it seems they've spread anyway

Nah its Persona, either way its a good idea because Smashfags are insufferable.

I think he meant Flynn of the Hoy Boys.

Attached: 1561273481369.png (216x178, 54.2K)

I'm playing SMT I and I love this guy, he's an absolute badass, though I'm barely getting to the Cathedral and I know the suffering won't end.
I would have liked him as a Pokémon Trainer echo but obviously with some demons, though if he was a fighter himself it would be really cool. I wonder what sword he would use, Hinokagutsuchi? Masakado? What about guns?

>There will never be a crossover game where you play The Hero as you have to team up with Aleph on the Law route, Demi-fiend on the Chaos Route or Flynn on the Neutral route to make a new world.
>the endings allow the alignments to work because it's not a Lucifer/Archangel dick measuring contest

Kazuya is canonically a Neutralfag though, it would need good reasons for him to suddenly shift his alignment to Law or Chaos.

A crossover game with the other protagonists probably isn't going to be canonical, user. Though with how much of a neutral boner this series has, maybe actually writing a good Law and Chaos route wouldn't be a bad idea.

b-but... muh canon...

>Though with how much of a neutral boner this series has
Im not seething or anything just in Nocturne isn't literally a chaos game?
SMTII is literally law the game.

Nocturne before the re-release absolutely pushed you denying all reasons and just resetting Tokyo so you can fuck your teacher.
Gotta remember True Demon didn't come til later.
I also doubt that Aleph actually canonically nukefucked the world. Though I'd be cool with that if he did.

Somebody count how many smash threads there are right now; bonus if you indicate which ones are about the exact same thing and could be condensed into one thread.

Attached: 1542565136570.jpg (650x650, 160.03K)

It is, devs said it themselves, even your world map icon indicates chaos alignment the whole time
>absolutely pushed you denying all reasons and just resetting Tokyo so you can fuck your teacher.
Not at all, it's the hardest ending to get, you could easily fuck up and get demon end, and choosing one of the reasons tends to give you easier fights or free shit. There's no indication that it's even an option seeing how Yuko doesn't actually find her own reason unless you're already locked into that route

I've played hundreds of games and I've never heard of this fucking character in my life. Why would he be in Smash?

SMT isn't Persona though. They're different series.

just accept Persona has usurped mainline. Joker was a great addition but P3 protag wouldve been better.

>even your world map icon indicates chaos alignment the whole time
Even before the Conception, the Demi-fiend is alligned with chaos.

I think Joker was a fine choice for a MegaTen representative, beyond his obvious popularity, he also has a distinct and agile style of movement that makes him translate well to real time combat, he's close to the classic MegaTen hero loadout of a gun, sword and means of summoning, just with a knife in place of the sword, and he has a more visually striking way of summoning than a lot of other MegaTen protagonists, the only other particularly interesting looking ways of summoning are how Raidou and the P3MC do it. My issue with Joker in Smash, or one of them, and also why they never would have chosen SMT1 Hero to begin with is because Joker doesn't represent MegaTen, he just represents Persona, and he largely only represents Persona 5. I think if they wanted to make him represent MegaTen well they could have done, but they weren't interested in that right out of the gate. I don't think there's even any references to other MegaTen games at all with him, except maybe his 8th color being a reference to Hazama, though I'm not sure that it actually is supposed to be a reference to him, I'm not sure what it would be a reference to otherwise.

I also don't think they even did a very good job of just making Joker with the goals they seemed to have in mind, he comes off as really boring when P4U exists as another way of showing Persona characters in real time combat, and they did a much better job there than in Smash. Having dedicated attacks for the Persona is much cooler than just having it attack alongside the character.

I'd prefer Aleph or Demifiend if only for their more interesting designs. Hell, maybe all 4 protags could get the Hero treatment.

Demifiend couldn't, he's too unlike other SMT protagonists. He fights without weapons, and to have him and not give him Freikugel or Gaea Rage or any of the moves you actually see him using in the game would be lackluster, but it wouldn't make sense to have other SMT protagonists doing those moves, except maybe Flynn and Nanashi, but even still those moves are so iconic to Demifiend that I'd rather they not be used by other characters. You could reasonably make echoes of everybody else because they stick to the sword, gun and comp loadout, but not Demifiend.

Why couldn't he use magic but people like Flynn and Nanashi could? The only SMT games i played are Raidou and SMT3.

yeah I was just thinking the same thing to myself there

Sakurai outright said the decisions are made by Nintendo and they were made well in advance. Smashfags - and Sakurai himself - have nothing to do with it.

The picks are 100% corporate synergy shit.

Attached: SakuraiToRosterfans.jpg (680x428, 49.06K)

Comps are magic bullshit in 4/4A for no reason

I think Nanashi and Flynn can only use magic because their demons whisper their skills to them.

I am on top of the hunger chart but why the hell would they choose such an uninspired design. That's not taste, and it's not even the first protag of the series as a whole. Nakajima is. pic unrel. If anything it's Jack Frost who should've made it.

Attached: MT2_Armoured_Protagonist.png (485x868, 569.87K)

There's no good reason for why Hero and Aleph can't do magic but Flynn and Nanashi can, they just changed it because having no skills on your protagonist is boring and limiting. If the lore of the matter meant anything then the Law Hero, Chaos Hero, Hiroko and Beth wouldn't have been able to use magic either, but them and your companions in if... all can while you can't. The real question is why they ever disallowed the protagonists from learning magic in the first place.

That's not Nakajima dumbass

>pic unrel
retard

FUCKING ILLITERATE

Attached: 1460401058529.jpg (640x780, 133.21K)

I'm guessing they did it to make the protagonist feel like a regular guy relying on human skills and demon assistance to fight through an apocalyptic wasteland
Tho they never really are regular guys lore wise...

>Tho they never really are regular guys lore wise...
They used to be

No (numbered) mainline SMT protag is a regular guy. AFAIK only Demifiend comes CLOSE to being a regular guy and that's just because he isn't the reincarnation of something.

Hero is a reincarnation of Adam and Aleph was created in a lab to be a Messiah. They're hardly average joes.

Was Demi-fiend at the hospital at the time of the Conception because Lucifer chose him to be the Demi-fiend or did Lucifer choose him because he was at the hospital?

Hero being a reincarnation of Adam didn't do much for him. At the end of the day he was pretty weak and fragile, physically and mentally. Otherwise he never would have fell into despair and let those guys kill him in a cave-in. Aleph the genetically engineered super messiah is in no way normal though, agreed.

Second one. He was an average joe before that

>picking legacy characters or reps from games on the console
>or the popular entry's MC
I just wanted all sorts of megaten music in smash, even the Persona stuff's anemic as fuck.

Attached: 1479441378496.png (230x240, 64.26K)

They can't use SMT's logo in smash though. It's a fucking Pentagram.

It may not have done much for him, but it still does make him special. Being the reincarnation of Adam is not normal no matter how you slice it.

Meme retcon from the gba port, and while Aleph was a test tube baby he ultimately fails at being the artificial messiah they wanted, and gets spurned by YHVH and the lawfags, and is never granted any special abilities or gifts from it

lol, i never thought about this.

>why did they pick the MC from their most recent release and not the MC from a game that released nearly 30 years ago and only has a defunct iphone port, and fanservice DLC as far as official english support?
Gee it's a real fucking mystery

Choosing a character from a fucking Atlus game over an actually decent character like Geno or Crash was the first mistake. Smash didn't need more anime shit.

Blame mods for not mass pruning this.
Least SMT discussion's happening, can't be mad about that
There needs to be another game with the MC having a cyborg arm

Attached: mt2 hero.png (1301x2242, 805.83K)

The implication of him being the reincarnation of Adam is there in the original game with how Lilith behaves towards him. Aleph being a false Messiah doesn't change that being made in a lab to be the Messiah makes him unusual. It wouldn't even matter if the reason had nothing to do with him being the Messiah, just being a test tube baby designed for any kind of grand purpose and going through accelerated growth like him is not normal.

>actually decent character like Geno or Crash

those giant titty pockets look stupid

>Apocalypse almost did but we got a fucking middle schooler instead

>not keeping your spare nerve bullets in your titty pockets

You'll have someone with a cyborg arm in your party in SMTV - Featuring Nero from the Devil May Cry Series

Now that I look at them, you're right. Fuck you

I think original Nanashi had a Demon arm, not a cyborg arm. Doesn't look mechanical to me anyway.
