every big youtuber has gameplay series on HL:A, game peaked at 300k views on twitch, HL:A trailer has 10m+ views with almost zero marketing done, game released only couple months after being announced to critical acclaim claiming 1st place on global best sellers list on steam - and that's not counting copies given for free for index buyers. To give you and idea how well index sold, last year it sold 150k units, 100k of which were after HL release. After restock it sold out within 10 seconds. I have 7 friends who own alyx out of whom only 3 have played it. Rest is still waiting for their indexes

It's been a long time, the story of episode 3 was leaked, and the cliffhanger doesn't mean anything anymore.

All the games were made to sell the engines they ran on aside from Episode 1 and 2 but that was to show off more of what they could do with it.

if it was a retcon then Eli's death wouldn't have happened at all yet we see exactly the opposite in the ending. Alyx's deal with the Gman could not have happened without Eli dying.

Oh it shows, Alyx feels like a different character now. I think Eli stayed intact because he doesn't get to talk much so he doesn't get a chance to be ruined, he just has to say Baby every now and then.
