the dude is slow as fuck and there are like 50 different paths to get to wherever you want in the station, just go around him or run away if he gets close. i completed the whole game on my first playthrough without getting hit by him a single time. i don't know how you guys are scared of him. at worst all he does is add another 30 sec - 1 minute to your travel time to your objective since you have to go around him.

You know you can hold down the button to basically fry enemies to death right? It's more powerful than the grenade launcher.

Leon can delete Lickers with the Magnum and you get enough ammo for it to do so and still have plenty for bosses.

Matilda is hands down the best handgun in the game. 24rd mag, super fast ready to crit state, and burst fire gives it more DPS output on bosses than .45 ACP handguns.

His shotgun is literally one of the best weapons in the game for general playing. Being able to outright eliminate a zombie with 1-2 shots (of easy to get ammo) and never have to deal with them again is super efficient compared to anything else you get in the game. It's not really hard or risky to get yourself close to a zombie with it like you're suggesting.

Claire on the other hand gets two shitty 9mm handguns, neither of which is better than Leon's Matilda, and her .45 ACP handgun sucks too. The Launcher is good but inferior to the magnum for killing lickers and for boss fights. SMG is okay for crippling legs and good for boss fights but that's about it.

Not sure why they couldn't just have him chase you through this section. I never looked back and just assumed he was coming.

Claire's story keeps the main line going. She comes to Raccoon looking for Chris, learns he's in Europe and uncovers the Umbrella conspiracy, kicking off her Code Veronica adventures. She also has a connection with the daughter of the game's antagonist, acting as Sherry's foster-mother, as well as providing us with Umbrella backstory.
Leon's story advances what we already know: virus turn people into monsters. His story is just a prelude for RE4.

RE games have always been campy. That's no reason they can't be remade with a more serious tone. They're doing exactly that with the remakes.

pretty much this, Claire's route gives a more humane approach to the outbreak. william and annette are shown as broken individuals who made mistakes rather than simplistic villains as leon's cutscenes show, even splitting in two the scene where birkin infects himself to better show this fact. I'm glad I played claire first because it felt like a better side to the story than leon's goody two shoes.

I thought we were talking from the perspective of playing the REmake and already knowing what's going to happen. Yeah, Claire sets up CV. Leon also sets up RE4.
I thought seeing Ada and Leon was more intriguing because they're functioning adults and their perspectives on each other actually change over the course of the game.
The dynamic between Claire and Sherry is established as soon as they meet and maintains for the whole game.

If you haven't done any 2nd runs, then yes. You get to see the true ending after a Claire or Leon B run.

Unfortunately, the B route is mostly just a miniature version of the A route with some changes and character specific stuff, but you don't get the true ending til you do it, and it's somewhat harder due to Mr. X appearing sooner.
