OH MY GOD

>Seething poorfags

YEESS BEAUTIUUL NO VR MOD

I can't for the life of believe people spent £1k on something I'll pirate and play for all of 10 minutes for free.

poorfag lol

Actually, I own over £1k in Magic the Gathering cards, which are only getting me even more rich. Enjoy your McDonalds toy that's gonna be out of date in less than a year. Hopefully CEX still give you £50 store credit.

>people actually have to fix a fucking $1,000 videogame

Attached: 92179371298321.png (600x800, 1.11M)

laughable reply, made me chuckle

Where does this 1000$ meme come from? An Odyssey+ is like 250$ and the game itself is 60$.

>$300
poorfag lol

The Valve Index is $1000, and uninformed poorfags think that you need that headset to play HL:A. (You don't.)

Honestly? Good for ya'll
The ONLY way VR can exist as a medium is by making VR and non VR co-exist in a game, sure it may be a fuckton of work. But you can easily make it be done, literally just make a VR game, then add a non VR mode after the fact.

We're going home Yas Forumsros

obviously a vr game is best played in vr and poorfags gonna poor, but i'm just glad the valve modding scene is back

I agree, theres only so many things you can only do exclusively in vr, so may as well have desktop only features

but then you get cases like payday 2 where people complain vr have an advantage since they can corner peak and such

unironically this.
This game has EVERYTHING from previous games in it.
Which effectively means, now we can rework the ENTIRETY of HL1 and HL2 AND the episodes in VR without the jank of third party tools like Gmod VR.

I'm so fucking excited you fags don't even know

Vr mods when

>being mad at corner peeking when normal fags can run at light speed

Thats honestly why I think L4D3 would be perfect for VR, show how VR and non VR can coexist in the same game, by giving VR advantages non VR doesn't and vice versa.
Like have VR be able to shove as long as they can see the zombies infinitely, or have them be able to more precisely throw grenades/smash molotovs on zombies

soon

What are Gordon's pronouns?

>posting cringe

This was easy, all of the default HL2 weapons were already in the Source 2 code. I'd like to see them solve the problem of the multi-tool puzzles, or reaching through windows to pick something up.

reminder that every enemy previously, damage numbers, HP numbers, ect. are all in the game.
So we can probably forward port maps from other games into Source 2 and have them work.

Valve are unironically geniuses lads
>Make a new non spaghetti engine
>Add the ability for easy porting of mainline half-life games into it so modders can do it with ease
>Add weapons, models, damage numbers, ect. in so modders can once again forward port their entire line of games into source 2 for free AND have VR capabilities

Xen/Xin

>make q and e lean
>lean through window
>press grab

I think they want to see how the community wants the game to be played

Attached: 1584292173229.png (1057x1271, 517.64K)

They wouldn't have literally forward ported EVERYTHING from HL1 and 2 if that was the case.
This shit is obviously for easy forward porting for modders when the SDK releases and I couldn't be happier

The game was made around VR, you incels. Removing VR features would be like cutting 75% of the game.

Oh no no flatchads will even have superior h2 weapons
1 thousand euros well spent VR cucks

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOOD, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!1

That's the point. They want to call it boring and unoriginal and that would give them an excuse.

>literally just make a VR game, then add a non VR mode after the fact.
That won't work. VR and non-VR games are totally different from a design perspective. It's like porting mobile game to PC, but even worse.
Non-VR games to VR will end up being too complex and having too much complicated mechanics and really bad pacing and/or movement.
VR to non-VR will end up too simplistic, short and watered down when it comes to game interactions.

People already whining you don't need an expensive headset anymore.

>Thats honestly why I think L4D3 would be perfect for VR
L4D as we know it would be horrible for VR. There's a lot of movement in it. Moving in VR while doing shit is kind of complicated. Using controller based movement is never an option for VR.

Can it be played on windows 7?

Are they going to make the zombies faster too?
They were slowed down for the VR experience.

>I am impressed massively at your talent but by doing this you're just harming the game and community by changing the way it was designed to be played. I hope you can use your skills for some amazing mods within VR-Alyx though.

It's not broken though.

l4d is literally impossible in vr unless you chastize the gameplay and remove versus

.../......
Please do not misgender him

LOL

>I'd like to see them solve the problem of the multi-tool puzzles, or reaching through windows to pick something up.
From what I've seen of the game it would be easy to go around.

seethe

You wouldn't have to chastize the gameplay at all but Valve fucking would. The hunter having "teleport" movement gimmick is genius since its basically a leap arc anyways

Same with Portal, they could do it they're just faggots that worry about motion sick people too much. If you're motion sick dont fucking get VR. It took me two fucking days to get used to it

Kek the vrfags are trying to tortanic a fucking mod lmao

Am gonna download that game and play with my keyboard and mouse and there is literally nothing James can do about it.

Attached: Jap.jpg (324x479, 23.66K)

you could easily noclip past the puzzles and use the console to spawn any item you need

>I am impressed massively at your talent but by doing this you're just harming the game and community by changing the way it was designed to be played. I hope you can use your skills for some amazing mods within VR-Alyx though.

Based as fuck

VRfag's smug bubble is bursting right now

OH MY GODDDDDDD THE CROWBAR!!!!!!! HOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

look at this literal who
the community has always been about modding and experimenting. this is exactly what gaben expected to happen

>chastize

Attached: nzup.jpg (500x375, 27.96K)

Imagine buying the index for $1k to play this when I'm playing it right now with my $300 rift-S i've had for ages

this is a board for underage children who like hating on videogames, what did you expect?

>NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST PORT THE ENTIRE HALF-LIFE 2 TO VR! ITS CHANGING THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE PLAYED

after playing through the game on normal with a shitty oculus I'll probably replay it on hard with a mouse and keyboard assuming the mod is decent

I want to play HL:Alyx but after watching a playthrough, it's really easy to see that it's a mediocre shooter/horror game with horribly gimped gameplay at best which only selling point is being a game on VR.
Honestly making it non-VR is just gonna emphasize the fact that the AI is fucking braindead and the game have little to no mobility options.
On the other hand I really wanna ask people who played on VR, are tedious tasks an interesting part of the game or any VR game in general? VR games have a lot of them and I feel like doing repeated motions to do basic task taht could be completed in one go (like for instance when putting resin in the printer often requiring you to find them piece by piece and then load them 5 by 5) seems like a cool gimmick at first for immersion but would get extremely boring or tedious after the first few times.

>ITS CHANGING THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE PLAYED

I mean it literally is. Twitter commie is retarded but so is everyone else who thinks the game will be remotely enjoyable when modded.

>Slow af enemies
>Constantly rotating and shaking your mouse
>Repetitive looting

Even if they replace all the gestures with button prompts, it'll just be a slightly better looking HL2

which oculus? because they're still some of the best headsets available unless you played it on the go somehow

Is there a guide or something out there to do this yet?
