Also, it depends on how long it is.
XB1 is a pretty long game so an epilogue might be around 4-8 hours, depending on how hard they want to go with it.
I think it's definitely possible they end up in XC3 world. 'Future's Connected' definitely implies that the futures of XB1 and XB2 will meet up somehow but maybe XC3 will also be a parallel story and we see the protagonists from that game AFTER that game is finished

Playing this game with Yas Forums and /vg/ for weeks was the most fun I've ever had here. It's not for anyone but if the weak points don't bother you at all it's a fantastic game.

I think you could play them back to back (though maybe with a few days break over each). Xenosaga I is kinda boring honestly, Mitsuda really fucked up with the music. Xenosaga II does have better gameplay depending on how you like your battle systems, but the designs changes and voices change are a clusterfuck, besides it feels like a side story. Kajiura salvaged the game a bit thanks to her god tier cutscene soundtrack. Xenosaga III is absolute Kino and one of the best jRPG of the PS2, and even though it doesn't perfectly conclude the Xenosaga story, it's a fitting ending. Kajiura also made a killer soundtrack once again, and she had reigns over both cutscenes and gameplay music. Worth playing it for that alone, it's not on par with XC2's OST, but close.
Also, I hope you like cutscenes heavy games. It's Metal Gear Solid tier.
