I watch his stream to see if his streaming personality is likable and relatable enough to have some kind of pulling power. I ask him about his subscriber base, his plan to expand the channel and about his basic bussiness outline (the source of his earnings in all of this be it ads, twitch revenue or some other shit).
Then we work out a plan to introduce it part time to see if it works out for him and if he can expand his exposure fast enough because nobody will invest in a bussiness that takes 20 years to give profit, including his father.
If it all works out I leave him be, who am I to control his life choices beyond saving him from obviously irrational decisions that will crash and burn in a few months?

Just to further explain, my younger brother has pretty mild aspergers (he's quite normal to be honest) but he's incredibly, incredibly fucking smart. He's 18 now and got taken out of school at 14 anyway because of mental health issues, but with only 2 years of 4 hours compulsory homeschooling a week he got better grades than 99% of people in the school he went to. He's told me repeatedly that school was a massive waste of time for him because he's not just smart, but actually genuinely interested in learning shit on his own. The fucker's being programming since he was like 10 and planning to study physics at university.

It's only a waste for entrepreneurs, not smart people. If you don't intend to be running your business entirely by yourself and never to work for someone else, you need school for the piece of paper they give you at the end. Employers look for diplomas and ESPECIALLY college degrees. The secret nobody tells you is in almost any field, they don't care what the degree is in. They're looking for proof that you're committed and have the dedication it took to earn that degree. "I didn't bother because school is beneath me" is how you get denied a job.

If you can do it, the more power to you. But I wouldn't go all-in on something, especially something as volatile as streaming, and doubly so at your age.
Go to school, work on your craft, and when you're old enough to live on your own you can show me if you can make it. Now let's go for burgers and you can tell me your plans for streaming on the way.

I can understand that, but in the UK (not sure how US works) even if you don't go to school, you still have to sit the final GCSE exams to get those basic qualifications.

However, it's not the be all and end all if you don't get them. You can still go on foundation courses at college and such.

Skill is important, but dropping out is a gigantic red flag to these people that you're too flaky to trust with a valuable position. I used to work in medical tech, and I learned very early in my career that most skill, if necessary, can be taught on the job. But if the person you've hired doesn't have the patience to learn, it doesn't matter what an excellent portfolio they have, they're worthless because they can't do the job you need them for.

If he had like a steady 2-3k viewership, was good at teh game, and had around 1k subs a month (2.5k a month for him) I'd let him do it.
