>can't find a way to make the enemies threatening
>let's just bump their health up and tell the players the objective is to score points by mashing combos while they're in the air!
Why is this series popular?
Can't find a way to make the enemies threatening
This post really pulls my deviltrigger
because you can score points by mashing combos on enemies with high health pools
Stop lying and actually play on a higher difficulty lmao.
>hurr I mash buttons and number go up!
yah
Just play cookie clicker, it's about as involving and once you get the golden cookie upgrades, more so
not him, but the AI doesn't improve at all in higher difficulties, they're still nonthreatening punching bags. DMC was never about hard enemies anyway, it's about styling on cpus.
>DMC was never about hard enemies anyway, it's about styling on cpus.
see
How'd that in any way fun or engaging?
>and tell the players the objective is to score points by mashing combos while they're in the air!
Yes? Now tell me why that's a bad thing retard
If the enemies aren't threatening they're just punching bags. at that point it's just busywork since there is no challange, no threat
It's like beating the shit out of virgins like you
no challenge, but still fun
I don't give a shit as to why I find it fun or engaging it just is
so basically ?
literally everyone plays these games for the boss battles
the rest is just quick slaughterfest fun with endearing edgy atmosphere
now go back to your cuckshed
>Why is this series popular?
Because DMC1 had actual threatening enemies
So boss battles and the rest is filler?
99% of Yas Forums would get wrecked on even the second highest difficulty desu.
someone make a version of this about this pathetic thread
I have never seen so much wrong in one thread
A braindamaged child could beat that shit
That's the case for most character action games, yes
People don't jerk off MGR because of the city escape level
I stand by my statement. And I include you in that 99%.
this game has so many flashbacks its ridiculous
The reboot managed to tell the story in a far better way
>entire genre based around bad game design
If that were true then this thread wouldn't be filled with objectively wrong statements about the game mechanics
Such as?
>the AI doesn't improve at all in higher difficulties
100% false, stop talking out of your ass.
The better question is why is your mom popular user
It doesn't though.
No gaining a new attack isn't improved ai
Pick any, it hardly matters
So you're admitting there are none
No you didn't. You've never beaten a DMC on DMD and probably not even on second from top (varies by game).
Sure buddy, character action games don't have mechanics or challenge, they're just glorified Musous
Now run along back to where you came from
>I only played the game on devil hunter / watched someone else play this and here is what I think!
Fuck off already. If you actually played the game you'd know the most important thing is not being able to juggle to infinity but avoiding getting hit, and on higher difficulties enemies actually hit you hard enough that you can't afford to make more than a few mistakes. Getting good at chaining combos is a natural part of increasing your effectiveness at the game and your style points will go up along with that. It's extremely obvious that you either didn't play the game, you stopped playing after devil hunter which is practically just a tutorial mode to get used to all the moves, or you couldn't even make it to DMD, in which case you got filtered like the shitter you are. And I wouldn't even hold it against if you'd just accept that the difficulty is too hard for you and move on like a stable person, but instead you have to come here and cry like a bitch that the game is somehow bad because you're not good enough at it. Fucking pathetic.
900 hours on paint.net
Yes, gaining an attack is an example of improved ai in this case especially since new attacks allow more options for the enemy to respond to you.
This is true though
>game tells you how good you are by keeping a score on what you do
>people who enjoy games purely focused on fun gameplay use this as a metric to gauge how good they are at the game and begin looking for ways to improve on it
>people who just want the le cinematic immersive experience take it as a constant insult that they don't want to see because their score is always bad and it hurts their onions pride to be challenged into doing better
every time
>the only way to know you're doing well is by watching a number go up instead of organically like being able to defeat tougher and tougher enemies since every single enemy is a punching bag
>Why is this series popular?
It's not really popular actually. Btw you suck dicks
>Not being able to get good and improve your combos
great
saved for future faggotry
Nah you know you're doing well by doing cooler shit and not getting hit
Not every game is dark souls get over it faggit
>get as good as the game can care to challenge
>not an autist so I dont give a shit about meaningless numbers
>haha while you were enjoying some other game after beating this after a few hours I was beating the same level 10 times on repeat to optimise my score-grinding technique of keeping one enemy faggot in the air for the entire duration big combat while he can't do shit, so much fun!
saint's row 3 had this and it took me about 10 minutes to get bored, the thing is that in that game it's only one of the thousand or so little distractions you encounter, not the whole game.
that and, you know, enemies actually posed a bit of a challenge before you get the upgrades that ruin it
>cooler shit
throwing a punching bag into the air and hitting it repeatedly isn't cool
>not getting hit
about the time a good game would throw harder enemies at you since at this point all challenge is lost
this is ludicrously easy to accomplish by the way
>people that don't play dmc think the entire game is combo videos where you fight one of the weakest enemies that can be juggled
>people on Yas Forums don't play video games
How's your first time being here?
Show us your S-rank HaH runs user
Let's see those DMD mission scores then, no hit runs pretty much guarantee an S rank even if your combo game is weak.
>get as good as the game can care to challenge
That would be getting S ranks on every DMD mission. Your arbitrary Dark Souls mode of "just beat it by easiest way I can manage" is not the most the game asks of you or it wouldn't have a score table in the first place.
1's still the best. Play DMD New Game.
The only autistic thing here is you and every other fag in this thread failing to comprehend that people go for S ranks because it's a fun challenge that feels rewarding in and of itself because the gameplay is just that good.
>but I don't think it's cool
>but I don't think it's fun
Well why the fuck would you pick up a DMC game then? For the mediocre story? You are not the target audience for this game. They tried to appeal to you faggots with "DmC" and we all saw how that went.
getting your numbers high enough for muh S rank, beating everyone on the hardest difficulty is good enough, anything else is pointless fuckery akin to speedrunning
I miss the intuitive mechanics of the original DMC, where you had to switch weapons depending on what you were facing. DMC4's treatment of those enemies was a huge bastardization of how it was designed.
Yeah we get it dude, anything beyond your depth is autism.
throwing a punching bag into the air and punching it over and over again isn't fun
I'd throw a punching bag into the air and punch it over and over again
for how long?
>That pointless dash spam
>The single enemy that attacks once every 30 seconds while the other watch harmlessly
>The constant air juggling, which is the only way to even do combos in DMC5 due to how slow it is
Eh. DMC is now known for sandbag enemies, not difficulty.
The vast majority of people are incapable of beating DMC on a higher difficulty.
