There are some allusions to Japanese mythology but they're not the obvious stuff.

it's probably a little darker than generic fantasy, you don't usually see characters wearing human skin and arms in normal fantasy

It'd be fun to see Miyazaki do a bright, colourful, upbeat setting where everything isn't fucked for once. Sekiro got the colour down but that world is a total shithole.

ngl Kitamura is disappointing me. Her tracks in Bloodborne were fucking elder god tier, so when they announced her as lead composer for DS3 I got hype - then thr OST came out and her tracks were bland. But whatever, it's one time, can't use that to judge - but then Sekiro was overall kind of eh too.

I'm still hopeful she can reach in and rekindle that fire that shone through for battles like with Ebrietas and the Living Failures, but I'm expecting another bland-ish score with lots of bombastic choirs, repetitive action ostinatos and no discernable melody or interesting instrumentation.
