Because it's a high IQ genre not meant for brainlets who aren't aware of proper braking and racing lines
amerifats dont know how to drive manual
Is there a single good racing game with a good story?
I feel like devs at this point don't even include a story at all, just a series of races and then that's it
Good answer.
What the fuck does that have to do with a video game you shit for brains
I kind of enjoyed need for speed 2015. It had live action cutscenes.
Because only Gran Turismo players know what an apex is.
How would you even make a good racing game story at all?
That's like trying to make a story based around sports like baseball or soccer.
Because it's a really, really fucking boring genre that even with VR cannot replicate the adrenaline and feeling of fast you get by actually driving
Playing racing games instead of focusing on your own car, tuning, body kits and mechanics makes you pathetic.
Japs did it pretty well in the 90s, just add anime girls and VN style convos
I'm a long time Gran Turismo player, but this game here is actually quite challenging.
Close racing is pretty fucking fun if you aren't racing a bunch of monkeys who have no sense of racing etiquette.

Some of my favorite games of all times are racing games
>Carmaggedon
>Twisted Metal
>Split Second
>Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
Yea man, I should just focus on my lamborghini huracan that I drive at 800 miles per milisecond through empty ass roads
>doesn't replicate the real deal
netiher does a videogame shootout
Why not both? I'm going to start getting all the pieces together to do a rb25 swap soon.
The 2JZ is the most overrated engine to ever exist.
Based and 2.5litrepilled. The 25 seems to be a real good bang for buck option.
Ok boomer. Go hop in your iroc z28 and fuck off
Forza sucks and NFS Heat sucks. But vroomers are so desperate they'll pretend their good games.
Being back midnightclub and burnout
Is need for speed good again yet?
GT Sport for me
The last one I played was Payback, and I have never seen a more retarded upgrade system in my fucking life.
Driver: San Francisco
That's the best you can get if you value "story".
Is that the one where you can jump from vehicle to vehicle?
Yes.
Found the retard that let's the game shift for him
This is the most accurate sim I've ever played. Also a GTchad. Wish I had pcvr for this
Is it any good?
>tuning, body kits and mechanics
this is ruining your car, not "focusing" on your car
Autos are and have been superior for years now. Only reason to drive manual is muh feelz
It's just hard to talk about since the last good arcade racers like Need for Speed are over a decade old, and even simcade titles have less mass appeal than those.
>he modified his irl car
OH NONONONO did you also get your meth addict cousin pregnant?
Blur
Split second
Motorstorm pacific rift
Pro street
Simple as
>implying
>This is the most accurate sim I've ever played.
More than Asetto Corsa?
For me, it's the Lamborghini Miura.
where is all vegetation?
I'm terrible at racing games that need you to drive like you're driving a real car, Wipeout is arcadey enough that I can still make mistakes and win a race. Plus 2048 has one of my favorite openings to a game
been playing a lot of iracing
>focusing on your own car, tuning, body kits and mechanics
I feel bad for your Civic
it's one of the best games you'll ever play...if you can find a way to play it it ain't on steam uplay
>proper braking and racing lines
this really isn't as impressive as you're trying to make it be
Because it requires actual skill
>clutch 0%
miss me with that gay shit
this, why do it yourself when the car can do it for you
>t. is afraid of three pedals
i drive stick eurotrash you're not special
autos for commuting dd, manual for fun car. As it's meant to be
this one gets it
i just got crew 2
its okay...
Who said anything about making it impressive? Brainlets can't do the basic fundamentals
>modern WRC cars
>using clutch for anything but starting
I like need for speed for customization. has any game beat shift?
how is nfs heat?
by far the best game Ubisoft ever made
I just finished NFS Most Wanted on the PS2 (emulated), happy that it was as good as I remember. now I'm downloading Pro Street, gonna see if emulating it on PCSX2 works or if I should get the pc version instead (I heard both are riddled with problems)
I just recently discovered that I can use my G29 to play GT4 on PCSX2. It's quite amazing.
I actually intend on picking up GRID and split/second some time soon.
Why did Namco stop doing mainline Ridge racers anyway? The time is ripe for a new one.
brainlets are the main demographic of racing games
Brainlets are the main demographic of video games.
Every 'AAA' game is a cinematic movie with 10% game in-between cutscenes.
FPS games are dumbed down to the point where you don't have to have good movement & aim anymore, cause moving reduces accuracy so you have to sit still and shoot another target standing still.
MOBAs are gimped RTS games.
Fighting games have been simplified to hell, autocombos up the ass to 'appeal' to casuals that won't stay past the first week anyway.
Racing games do appeal to casuals, but racing sims never will. It's too much work to get decent at a racing sim, because if you suck you're just gonna run off the track and crash until you get it right.
Same applies to rhythm games. You can simplify those as much as you want, but the top echelon of rhythm game players are still going to be doing some borderline inhuman shit.
Racing sims don't appeal to anyone outside of actual autistic people because they're fucking boring.
It's a moor, so it's pretty sparse.
Only if you can't race worth shit.
Wheel-to-wheel racing is properly exciting.
