Daily reminder that you don't actually own any of the games that you "bought" on any digital store.
Daily reminder that you don't actually own any of the games that you "bought" on any digital store
if i keep steam offline forever will my games still work?
Nice bait nigger. As if this doesn't apply to console kitties too
You don't own any game that isn't Free & Open Source
You should work on your reading comprehension.
ok tim
>download cs 1.6
>put it on a couple dozen flash drives
>sell them to kids at school
You can't tell me I don't own.
>i don't own my TV because it doesn't have a build manual and it wasn't free
This is your mind on pinko.
>b-b-but consoles have it worse
>ha checkmate
Steam fanboys are such retards.
You own the TV, you don't own its function.
the hoops digitalcucks jump through to cope with this are hilarious
I laughed out loud just thinking about your face while you typed this, and you actually thought you were making sense, fun times.
GOG is pretty close since you can back up the installers and don't need license keys.
Owned
I dont own a bunch of f2p shit. Oh no OP is a faggot as always
I know.
You can play multiplayer on those games and get updates? That you "backed up" without any "workaround"?
Also, can you legally sell them?
>using strawman to argue
Yikes.
You don't own anything at all, dumbass, property rights are a spook.
>haha you don't own any of your games
>you're right, but they don't sell physical copies anymore. What's the solution?
>uh... haha you don't own any of your games, lol!
Brilliant.
>Console stops working for whatever reason
>user is stuck with hundreds of dollars of worthless plastic disc
Then you can sell them, moron.
Plenty of solutions could be applied, the easiest of them all is to allow people to sell (for real money not for store money) and trade "their" games on a open market.
Does steam really remove games? I barely buy so dunno, and what does steam say when they remove a game you bought? does it tell you something or it just disappears from your library lol
>steam servers shut down
>user is stuck with hundreds of dollars of worthless steam library
There are sites for that, but it always involves a risk.
>steam fanboy retard assumes everyone that doesn't fanboy a glorified DRM service is a consolepleb or epic games shill
>is a weebshit avatarfag
Steam fanboys are so retarded.
>implying anyone will want to spend money for priced gouged games that can be easily emulated or are available on virtual consoles
No there aren't, its LITERALLY impossible to sell a game that is already in your library.
Uh oh, looks like the steam fanboy retard is triggered. How typical.
That doesn't apply to anything released in the last 10 years. Also stop moving the goalposts, idiot.
Yes there are, retard. Go, you're so fucking stupid.
Usually they just take down the store page, but you can still download the game if you already purchased it.
>implying that moving the goalposts is a valid form of argument
Okay, sell me one of the games in your steam library, send me a link, i'll wait.
>buy physical
>at worst get a box with a cd key
>at best get a cd and install disk
>have to download day1 patch as large as the game itself
>can stick the disk up my ass if whatever store the key is tied to shuts down
Daily reminder you don't actually own the house/land you "bought" in most countries, and is subject to eminent domain, yet people still get mortgages
>day-1 patch 2 big for me
I'd tell you to stop buying shitty games from bad developers, but you're defending Steam like a retarded cultist so why bother.
It totally does, there are already working PS3 and WiiU emulators
Also how am I moving goalpost? you've implied physical is worth more because you sale the games after your console is broken, but why would anyone bother buying from a second hand dealer if A. an easier option is available or B. they can emulate the game at a better frame rate or resolution for free?
I can't play multiplayer in a bunch of console games anymore either, they shut down their servers. At least some PC games support LAN play.
That's right, I'm paying for a service. There is literally nothing stopping me from pirating every game I want except for my own inconvenience. Do you know why I don't pirate? because I enjoy the services provided on steam. This is the reason I don't buy from Epic or any other platform I don't like for that matter, I just don't like there services and(or) the way they run their digital storefront. I am fully aware I own only licenses on steam.
>using false equivalences and moving the goalpost to argue retarded points
Yikes.
you don't own anything not even yourself retard you're gonna die when you die and all your goods will be worthless cause you're a virgin dumbass hahahaha
I don't recall mentioning steam in my post.
And yet, you nihilist pinko retard still think your opinion matters.
Yep.
>Look at me everyone! I’m acting holier than thou!
>lying on the internet
No you have to occasionally log in to steam or the launcher will stop working.
Yeah what of it?
At this point shit doesn't matter anymore. We've entered full tech-dystopia and GOG doesn't even have all the new games I want to buy so fucking whatever. I'll swallow the blackpill.
Swallow your own dick while you’re at it you cuck
Been there done that. But then I sold my PS4.
it does to me while you can cope about your rotting plastic that you don't even use
You're retarded. The point was that non digital copies of games face the same issue.
>Download every single game
>Apply crack
>Unplug internet
Ha, bet you feel pretty stupid now?
I bought mine on GoG and as per their allowances int he agreement I backed up the games on other hard drives and thumb drives and they play perfectly on those GoGless machines and off those Thumbdrives without GoG ever being installed.
Now what?
try selling the game and see what happens
Works for me at my booth.
>legally selling somethig you can make infinite copies of by just copypasting an installer
?
You own the license, which means you can use it but not sell it. You legally have the right to claim your ability to play it as a product in terms of your purchase, and as an acquaintance in terms of your goods.
>enters thread about steam
>cries about physical copies
>cries about not being forced updates
Sure steam fangirl
>on disc DRM servers go down/stops getting OS support
say goodbye to your physical games
Community patches exist.
>noooo only daddy gaben can ram foced updates up my ass
>just pirate it bro
The solution is piracy you fucking retard.
