lol

nothing, it's fine.

beta 1.8

Bedrock edition, especially the paid mods.

didn't they put tranny bees into minecraft?
sounds cringe
they also removed notch
the hunger system was a mistake
removing sky islands was a mistake

.

I’ll save you from reading the rest of the thread:
>old good new bad

I stopped playing but I'm back into it so it's all good now

java, fuck java

Eh, the only thing I really dislike are phantoms. I see absolutely no point to that enemy

>hunger system is about debuffs rather than buffs
>worldgen isn't quite as fantastical as it used to be, way too grounded
>development time takes WAY TOO FUCKING LONG so we only get like one update a year with enough content to renew interest for all of two hours
>Notch is gone
>split between like a dozen different platform versions for no decent goddamn reason
These lads seem fun tho

they need to have a slab update

most of you are probably too young to even remember what the problem was in the first place

They're annoying to a degree but they're piss-easy to kill. Just remember to sleep semi-frequently, you should be doing that anyway as you move from place to place.

what the fuck is that

New Nether beast in today's snapshot. They're passive creatures which live in lava seas, walking along the surface. You can saddle them.

its not so much that they're hard to kill but they ruin the enjoyment of when night comes similar to the hunger bar taking you out of the experience.

Pretty neat idea but fuck that thing looks weird.

I think it's supposed to be some kind of insect. You ride them like pigs, except instead of a carrot on a stick, it's a Warped Fungus on a stick. They drop strings, supporting my insect theory. They can breed, and can also spawn with either the juvenile on top or a Zombie Piglin riding a saddled one.

>playing vanilla in current year
No vanilla version after 1.8 is relevant except as a platform for mods or maybe maps. Anyone who wanted more content beyond what existed then moved on (or should have moved on) to modpacks by that point.

>OH MY GOD A NEW UPDATE AFTER ONLY 13 MONTHS THANKS BASED MOJANG
>WTF ANOTHER NEW BLOCK THAT DOES LITERALLY NOTHING? AND IT'S ***PURPLE***???
>ANOTHER NEW MOB THAT WALKS STRAIGHT AT YOU AND MELEES YOU AND IS COMPLETELY TRIVIAL TO KILL WITH END GAME GEAR??
>AHHHHHH HYPE!!

The problem is that I don't like any of the modpacks I've seen and while I have the creativity to make my own, I don't have the autism (or time) to learn Java. The modding API should have been out five hundred years ago. Probably just going to wait for Hytale.

>I don't like any of the modpacks I've seen
Bruh, there are literally 20,000 of them on curseforge alone.
curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks

>The modding API should have been out five hundred years ago.
Forge is the modding API, has been out for five hundred years, and is infinitely better than anything Mojang itself would crap out.

>Probably just going to wait for Hytale.
>playing anything made by Hypixel
Enjoy your microtransactions and having half the game gated behind the purchase of a $45 "Hytale MVP++++" rank.

Are there any mods that you recommend in particular? I personally like stuff that feels like it could have been a big vanilla update back in the day, which is to say, having a more seamless integration in how it looks and acts. I'm not crazy about shit that adds guns and tanks and crazy-complex science shit.

>They have routinely stated they will never add in sideways slabs
Why are they this retarded?

Eh, I normally like the big complicated tech shit, but if you just want Enhanced Vanilla you could try the twilight forest official modpack (if you don't already hate twilight forest for some reason). It only adds TF, tinkers, and a handful of other things you can ignore if you want. Get the old version 1.6, it looks like they started fucking it up after version 2.0

Use the Quark mod. It adds all the low hanging fruit.

...

Bees are more creative and useful than any cheating mod that you could add.

Bruh get GT new horizons, best fucking modpack.

Mojang has been making stupid decisions long before MS bought them

>reddit defending Yas Forums
You know its just Yas Forums seething over nothingness. They deserve a credit at the end of the credits which no one sees, they didn't start shit.

>white male protag
>kick notch
>ginger girl protag
>nigger protag
every fucking time

>it's another modfag getting angry that people just want to play vanilla
Is it a superiority complex or something?

>massive pain in the ass to set up, let alone automate
in exchange for
>mid-tier food
>slight boost to nearby crop growth speed
>a sticky block that's entertaining for 20 seconds but pretty much useless

it'd be cool if the lodestone output a Redstone signal the closer you got to it while having an attuned compass in your inventory. You could then make a piston door that was keyed to a lodestone and only the person with the right compass could get in.

>it's another severe autist gets angry that he's the only person left on earth that hasn't gotten bored of strip mining diamonds after 11 years episode

Java Edition? Nothing its great and the bug fixes are finally getting it some stability.

Bedrock? It has no end game because its redstone is broken and shit. Paid bullshit, etc.

I miss the old greentext story threads for Minecraft. I honestly dont really remember what was promised then, what was never delivered my memory of that time is a bit fuzzy. I've really enjoyed the last few major updates finally giving some life to some of the more barren areas of the game.

>world generation is still boring
>dozens of useless food items
>useless mobs that add nothing to the game
>combat still sucks
>still no cave update
The devs have put more emphasis on adding bloat to the game instead of addressing things that actually matter. Im hoping that the combat update in the future is a step in the right direction but that's probably still asking for too much

So ugly that it's cute.

What do you want updated about the caves? I kinda stopped playing around they took away the world customizing sliders.

Minecraft combat is simply not very good. Anything focused on combat is not particularly good, including all adventure mods.

The best way to play minecraft is a super crafting/gathering focused mod and cheat shirt world gen like slimes

Everyone's bored of strip mining diamonds, but far fewer people are bored of vanilla as a whole. Have you considered there's more to the game than its strict progression?
Getting diamonds is the START of a good vanilla playthrough, even if they're some of the last stuff in the progression.

Nothing.

Wish they would update caves but Nether update is the next best thing.

Get Quark. It adds several new cave "biomes". Nothing groundbreaking, but more interesting than vanilla.

Probably the same thing most people want updated about caves.
Some combination of these:
> Bigger
> More features than "Uhh ores and dungeons sometimes"
> More intricate generation
> Underground biomes
> More depth (and while we're on the subject, CUBIC FUCKING CHUNKS)

Modded is neat, but those that I've found way into it seem to be people that lack imagination to make anything. Mods are fun but grow boring faster than the vanilla game because they are usually just replacing a big chunk of the game rather than actually adding anything.

Best ones are the ones you barely know are there because they blend right in. But even of the few I used in the past none were worth not going to 1.13 and beyond to keep.

The biggest problem I have with caves is how similar they are to each other. They all look the same and it makes exploring them incredibly boring. I think they should be more like the caves in this mod: curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/worleys-caves
The caves in it are much more random in size and length.

>Best ones are the ones you barely know are there because they blend right in
Yeah, that's why I haven't found any mods I like so far.

that's pretty impressive

When will they add a new redstone component? I really wish they'd add a directional slime block.

t. zoomer who loves bedrock edition

Have you tried the buildcraft/tekkit line? Honestly after a few months of messing around with that it ruined vanilla for me.

If you don't want something super space aged or advanced I saw a thing for a mod called Create where it's a similar sorta thing but it's in a lower tech type of package.

Vertical biomes are now a thing with the upcoming Nether update, so they'll probably integrate them into the overworld in a future update.

cool ideas are never added this is mohjang we are talking about

Bedrock is fucking awful for redstone.

That would be fucking awesome. You can still do something similar with an item filter and a named item, though.

See, I'm not quite of THAT mindset. There are plenty of mods that don't quite mesh with the vanilla game but add enough uniqueness that they're plenty worth it. Thaumcraft sticks out like a sore thumb in any of its iterations but I find it quite fun. Chisel violates the very spirit of Minecraft in a way, but I love it all the same. Buildcraft takes a lot of potential tedium out of mining.
Basically, if the mod gives me an excuse to build a new, neat-looking "workshop" (but ONLY if I have some actual choice and variety on the matter), encourages automation within the general spirit of vanilla, or if it lets me take vanilla style building to new heights, I like it.
