It happens, idk what you typically play (I only do bullet chess which is 1 minute per player), but you could have been spending an average of 5-7 more seconds per turn which would let you catch that stuff easier. Just because the other player rushes doesn't mean you have to, if 3 minutes is your jam study the average moves it takes and find your flow so that you can spare an extra 10 or 20

Yeah I'm bullet you're typically pre-moving, making inputs for safe or ~90% safe moves before it's your turn so they auto activate. It takes a long time to get used to, you should see my play stats and time for example, but if you're ever looking for a hobby you can't beat speed chess

I usually play on this one app while Im waiting for shit, and it doesnt let you pre-move, so Im not used to that

AI is better than yourself but download lichess and okay against people online for best results, the app is great
