BlazBlue is better.

>calling guilty gear kusoge
>when blazblue ctb exists
>when granblue exists

This. Also when DBFZ exists.

Granblue is a deeper game than Guilty Gear

I'll play if anyone on south america feels like joining.

Yes.

Work on the +R caster is still going
No idea how far they are but it looks promising

I just want to play the beta already, I'm excited to try it out

>Play Guilty Gear, you fucking casuals.
gg is legit too casual for me now

Attached: wild throw gg strive.webm (1280x720, 2.81M)

then keep playing the older ones

I would if they had rollback.

Wild throw wasn't casualized though, there's combo throws in the game, they just chose to take it off of Sol. Think about it this way, if it bounced still, now what? There's no jump cancels/air tech, so you just stand there and wait for them to come back down? You can complain about those, but wild throw pretty much had to change to accommodate the other changes to the system.

Are you mad that granblue took all of your pc players?

iirc you have to RC to extend?

I will play the new one but I don't really feel like getting my ass reamed in Xrd by the same two people close enough to me for the netcode to function.

Most likely, we'll have to see, I haven't seen any Sol's trying to extend a wild throw, or even land one, in most of the footage i've seen. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I'll add it to my list of things to test during the beta.

No. They will age him up like they did to May, maybe even more.

I'm going to make a sincere effort with Strive. I tried with Xrd very briefly because I played a lot of Blazblue CT and CS, but I was terrible and I feel really bad when I just get stomped online over and over again.

I have a small group of friends irl who are going to get Strive, so I'll make an effort to.

Congratulations, you are the target audience. According to azedevs, Strive fucks with the old players so that new ones can have a chance against them. Ganbatte, user.

I want this game to succeed so that more jap fighters can have rollback. Also, Guilty Gear is the peak of fightan, for me.

I'm game

I never stopped, old man.
Check this intelligent setup. Could your weary fingers block it?

Granblue Versus is more fun than Guilty Gear.

I love these guys and would donate.

Bedshota is trash tier and will never be playable in another game.

He already isn't playable in Xrd

I didn't want them to dumb it down for players like me, I was mentally committing to learning Strive after the initial reveal because it looked really nice and the music was good and all my friends were into it all of a sudden.

I've always admired GG from a healthy distance, button mashing in AC with friends and just lurking in the old Yas Forums threads where people would play GG on Mame (at least I think it was Mame).

>XRD still has mash to tech
No thanks, I'll wait for Strive

I spent the afternoon tutoring a friend in it! He's liking it more than BB, I'm so proud

Waiting for Strive, I'm way too shit at Xrd

They didn't dumb it down, they changed it so hard that legacy knowledge got disrupted. You apparently have to learn different things for Strive than for Xrd. I need to play the beta so I can form a more coherent opinion on this.

I'm glad he won't be playble so that Bedloli will.

I wish I never got good at fighting games. All the hours I poured into this shit was hardly worth it and I have absolutely nothing to show for it. Fighting games are meme.

so you never played GG and you're saying they dumbed it down? are you even aware of what's different between the two of them or are you just regurgitating opinions you read online?

You guys think someone who gets into the GG series with Strive still has a chance of keeping up with the competitive playerbase? I mean, Xrd is my most played fighting game, but I've grown tired of playing it. Recently I've been forcing myself to play it because of Strive and I just keep getting angry cause' I'm bad.

What's wrong with bbtag?

>actually defending a rushdown character being able to do 40% off a command grab by itself without meter

>hate rape doujins
>tfw consensual sleep sex doujins

But I like Samsho's system more

I see. That's fine then.

When the other user said that they were changing the game to fuck with veterans and give new players a chance, I assumed he meant they were dumbing it down. I have completely reserved my opinion on Strive footage I've seen because I don't know enough about GG to say if it's better or worse either way.

Aside from the UI in the previous build being fucking awful. I can say that with confidence.

I mean that is the prevailing opinion by far among people in the west who provided feedback to the demos they had at events.

>They didn't dumb it down, they changed it so hard that legacy knowledge got disrupted.
by removing vectors for depth. less moves being able to chain into other buttons = less depth. combos only being like 3 hits max without meter = less depth. being able to airblock everything = less depth. I could go into detail if you'd like but I would hope these things are self evident.

The reason those opinions are so prevalent is because it's literally a different type of fighting game than previous GGs. People have a legitimate concern that the series they've loved is moving away from its roots. Even if you believe, like Daisuke, that radical change is necessary for improvement, you still shouldn't blame the fans.

Samsho could be the best game in the world, but shitty netcode + shitty world tour mean you're only going to be playing it with your friends in your house.

even the JP players have that opinion, they just voice their concerns in that japanese fake politeness way. like the guy who pointed out that limited gatlings is actually more confusing for new players than the old method because now they have to learn a bunch of cancel rules instead of just being able to go PKSHD as any character

>instead of just being able to go PKSHD as any character

That was one of the worst things in Xrd.

xrd rev 2 seems fucking ridiculous. is it really as complicated as it looks?

They're changing the UI so you don't need to worry about that. The thing is, the "give new players a chance" does NOT mean it's like DBFZ where sometimes you just win neutral and get mixups by mashing autocombo. The majong comparison Daisuke likes to make is in regards to the neutral. There's a lot more resetting to neutral in this game, the most obvious being wallbreaks. The idea is, even if you are more skilled, the other player could get an amazing anti air, and swing the tides of battle that way. You can't just run grinder oki, you now have to be able to consistently win neutral, and wall breaks give you shit tons of tension to help you with that, but you can't be dumb about it or your opponent will fuck you up sometimes.

Why? At any rate, when you're deliberately making a game to try and appeal to more widespread audience, why would you change things so you have even more dumb little rules to keep track of - when guilty gear has always been infamous (deserving or not) for having tons of little bits of system knowledge you have to learn
look at this guy for example . How is making things more complicated going to help their goal of making the game simplified so that instead of having to actually do a combo sol can just wild throw you for 40%?

I dislike the smell of the game

>it's like DBFZ where sometimes you just win neutral and get mixups by mashing autocombo.
This isn't what DBZF is like either

GGPO+R is already running

>complaining about the airgame becoming safer
>laughingChippandZato.jpg

I bet your dumb ass played Leo.

You're either a fool or a paid shill. Fucking SF2 has oki. Fucking GG overture, the dynasty warriors/moba game, has oki. You can't avoid oki no matter how often you "reset to neutral", people are already figuring this shit out with how they can use the wall that's supposed to prevent oki to actually let them oki people anyway.

The current state of the game is one where instead of ky making you guess on his grinder oki a a dozen times, he just hits you three times and kills you because everything does a billion damage but the game doesn't have the kind of movement or flow that would justify it (like samsho).
Why would I even bother doing gunflame oki as sol even if I had the option when I could just tick throw you with command grab twice and do 80% of your fucking life (while getting a hard knockdown).

The magical idea of a fighting game that doesn't let you run people over if they guess wrong too many times doesn't exist - period. Removing everything that people like about guilty gear to try and appeal to a demographic that won't actually play the game past a week anyway (because they'll get rolled by something else and make excuses) is insanely stupid.

Funny, people are always accusing Strive of having no oki.

sorry, can you rewrite this post so it makes sense? Are you saying you're glad airblocking is simplified because you play characters who can really abuse these mechanics to avoid ever having to block vs just hanging out in the air all day? Are you saying leo, king gorilla himself, wouldn't also love this change?

For whatever it's worth I play answer, not that he'll actually be in this game but if he was he'd only benefit from this games system changes

I do play Guilty Gear, I was yellow at one point and I was quite proud of that.

There's plenty of stupid autocombos, Teen Gohan's is especially obnoxious, but Janemba, Goku Blue, Bardock, there's a lot you can just mash in neutral for little risk and plenty of reward. Also, no one will ever block janemba auto-combo, I mashed my way to supreme ki before someone knew how to block it. Is it the best? No of course not, but the few times a teen gohan mashes L and 50/50s you succesfully, you're soul leaves your body for the rest of the match.

>Why would I even bother doing gunflame oki as sol even if I had the option when I could just tick throw you with command grab twice and do 80% of your fucking life (while getting a hard knockdown).
this actually sounds like a fun experiment. Would you kindly play the beta and document your success rate when pulling such strategy?

Probably not, and if you could it would be OTG anyway, which I'm not sure is even still a thing, I don't think I've seen one in any of the gameplay

strive is drastically different to the point where there's no point playing xrd to train for it

Not really. A lot of the time whena fighting game gets a reputation for being incredibly difficult the reputation exaggerates it, you wouldn't have that time playing Xrd at a basic level if you tried. One problem that I find people have is they think they need to master everything right out of the gate, but it's not the end of the world if you're not doing Burst-safe combos and consistently Jump Installing as a beginner, the stuff you need to know just to play at a basic level isn't that hard to grasp.

Neutral is the same
