Poorly.
I got lots of ideas, and graphical know-how, but everything else I suck at.
Thought I could cheat and power through the development by using Unity + tons of Assets (engine stuff), so I wouldn't need to type a single line of code in the oldschool way. I loathe that shit.

Can't figure out why the textures on the diagonal walls are not being aligned properly and I think it's going to give me a fucking stroke at this rate.

I'm too tired to work on my RPG Maker project despite the fact that I'm only awake for 5 hours and on nofap for 8 days

so-so
im making progress but not as much as I would off quarantine

Gave the undocking camera on my docking rings an actual camera. Now I'm fixing up some background stuff

I want to make a Turn-Based Strategy. What (free) engine should I use?

2D or 3D?

3D
I'm tired of drawing sprites and wanna try lowpoly with lowres textures to imitate some soulful old shit

monster fusion

Probably Godot or Unreal then, if you want something free.

But everyone on Yas Forums was saying Godot is bad although I still don't understand why exactly

What's the game about?
I just find it kinda jarring that a detective-looking man in black noir trenchcoat is walking around luscious green adventurous RPG meadows. Feels like he came from a different game.

C# is awesome but unity is not, that's all I've got to say for now

Unity has your basic needs covered. I bet there's even pre-made sub-engine or two for just that.

The game takes place across two different dimensions; the human world and the monster world. The human world is more in line with where you'd expect to see the main character. Here is a very, very rough tileset.

Here's the game's intro script, hopefully it can give some context even if said context is very confusing. pastebin.com/MQ3qViwA

I want to make one but I have no clue where to even start

How does one make killing enemies FEEL good?

What do you do to make a game?
Is it just programming or what? You make some animations and textures, music, and then just write work code to mix it together?

I'm too autistic, so I'm spending hours looking at old american city maps to come up with a layout for me to make my own

>You make some animations and textures, music, and then just write work code to mix it together?
yes

had to restart a significant chunk because I've lost track of everything and it became unworkable

I need to learn to organize shit better

what kind of game?

Good sounds, good particle effects, good sense of motion and impact from your weapon

Why does no one ever share any playable builds in these threads?

Dont give up skeleton

People don't download random executables from Yas Forums

megaman clone

What are they gonna do? Download cp for me? If ya struggling to make a game I doubt ya know how to make an effective virus.

Noticeable audiovisual feedback when your shots connect, nice explosion when they die.

Nah I've seen a few people do that, they rarely get any attention though

what a low IQ zoomer post

You mean demos? I've had playable demos available for a while now.

I think I'm pretty much finished with all the graveyard levels. I'm honestly not even sure what I'll work on next.

Just let me set up my itch.io
page

Its gone be a minute.

It's a big game.

___ ___

Its super on hold because im already in the industry, working 50+ hours a week (multiple projects) makes it difficult to have energy to work on your own stuff.

im not actually planning on finishing it, its more of fun sandbox for myself.

its a multipler third person soft area shooter aimed for casual fun like mario cart. Pic related is an early draft of a player character model.

>engine
>unity

What is your game going to play like? I hope it plays like Mount and Blade but in space sorta like Starsector.

It's a space game. Space is empty.

Unity

thanks doc
unironically an awesome design though

It plays like Freelancer. Exactly like Freelancer. This is absolutely a coincidence, I assure you.

Thanks doc

>that spolier
killed me

>unironically an awesome design though
Thanks!

here is an earlier version, the shoulder is black because the normals where inverted and gennerally the design was alot less defined

Attached: Project_PartyShooter_Golem_reworked_wip.png (595x601, 90.7K)

i feel like you made the right call with the newer shoulder. it fits his design more.

what do i use to make a 2d online multiplayer game?

is it possible to purchase video game music from previous video games and use them in your own video game

Attached: 1583002765823s.jpg (117x125, 2.26K)

yea the earier version was meh, im thinking of redoing the colors scheme, same colors but different. i feel like its alittle dull at the moment

Attached: golem_2.png (527x741, 57.12K)

try making the explosion from the dying enemy move outwards at the same speed as the shot
so if your shot moves one inch a second, the explosion should too

There's a lot of stuff in space, more than you realize. This is more of an open world RPG than anything else too.

Attached: UnderspaceVauldricRegion.jpg (1616x3636, 3.27M)

what kind of multipler?

I downloaded unity and did the microgame tutorial yesterday
today I have downloaded cinemachine and am going through a tutorial on that

Fuck, a spiritual successor of Freelancer. If only it is singleplayer and fun

It's singleplayer and multiplayer, each have their own campaigns, though it's like GTA5 where the singleplayer campaign is heavily story focused while the multiplayer campaign is more an excuse to do crazy activities like pulling off a heist on the space equivalent of Area-51.

theres 0 time to react to shots, is the point that you inevitably get hit then have to rely on medical drops?

Made another enemy today.
He is pretty good.
Going to make some for enemies before I design levels

Why is the bee constantly taking little shits? Why are enemy projectiles so fast but the player character is so slow?

you can't just say that and not show us the fucking enemy

the point is that you git gud

bees have dots behind them, that's just the way the world works.

Attached: 95747686-cartoon-bee-flying.jpg (1300x1300, 69.55K)

ive been doing monsters since in quarantine. just cause I cant really edit atm so they're easier

i took too long a break now i forgot everything

That makes more sense. Well good luck user.

you too!

its bad fix it.

I want to make my game very difficult and challenging because I don't like easy and casual and handholdy games have become lately, but here's a problem: in my endless hypocrisy, I'm shit at games myself. I am rusty. I'm slow. I have been playing less and less over the past several years, and now I can't properly playtest my own game to gauge how difficult something is.
What should I do?
