So, what did you guys think of the Switch? It had some pretty good games, but 3 years is a really short lifespan for a console. Not really the most ideal sendoff for Nintendo as a company, I feel like they could have done more before they shut down.

Given: Every year there's been a direct in the Jan-March stretch that often details and reveals upcoming games for the year

Fact: Nintendo has no announced new titles in the pipeline for this year

Fact: If they do in fact have unnanounced titles coming out this year it would be in their best interest to unveil them

Conclusion: We have to assume either the direct has been delayed due to something, or that they absolutely nothing worth making a direct for. The latter option seems a bit unbelievable, but the news drought has been astounding.

Any and all release dates or promises in the direct video probably can't be kept due to the Corona outbreak, so any planned announcements are likely on hold until things calm down and schedules are figured out.

This is by far the longest they've ever gone without announcing any new games. It's borderline unbelievable that they're going to go into the new fiscal year without a single release date for a new title.

Yeah, Corona is probably fucking with them, but they've had AGES to announce something new. They could have done it in January and it would have been fine. They could have done it in February and it would have been fine. They could have done it 3 weeks ago and it would have been fine. But instead they pussyfooted for 6 full months and now they're entering Q2 with nothing on the table.

Their next investor call is May 7th. If they still haven't had a direct by then, I expect them to be totally grilled by the shareholders.
