wtf is that new button in the middle? also idk if it's perfect but it's the best all-arounder.

perfect for that exact functionality on pc as well so you don't have to reach for the keyboard to save a replay

better dpad and it would be amazing got mine for 2 years and it's starting to not register unless you press more than your comfortable with.

thumb stick placement for xbox controllers is disgustingly bad. Is it made for manlets with tiny little hands or something? Can't understand why you'd put the left stick higher than the right, it makes playing games awkard. PS4 controller is perfection, I wish it worked on more pc games by default

The perfect controller...
is no controller

because it's more ergonomic you stupid cunt

>muh d pad
name a modern controller that does have a good d pad then

Does anyone have both controllers? How does the PlayStation controller compare? I'm going with PlayStation 5 after being with Xbox exclusively just out of boredom, really, and want to know if the controller is good.

The analog sticks being next to each other gives me anxiety about it, but maybe that'll end up being an even better setup.

keyboard and mouse has its place but its objectively worse for a lot of games

>2 closely placed thumbsticks are better than wider assymetrical placement
Nice try, crabman.

That isn't the steam controller OP

have both, use both, like both, as far as stick placement goes it's personal preference
I will never not think the PS4's big touchpad is fucking stupid though, and the cable port is loose on mine, had to put tape on my cable connector to get it to stop disconnecting

best dpad by far, absolute best choice for retro

I have both. Xbox better for FPS, PS for racing and such.

>tiny hands
>b-but my nip controller
The irony

this one is more fragile than the bone controller desu

>PS for racing
wat

>not using a series 1 elite
>not having sets of magnetic thumbsticks to hot-swap on the fly
>not having the option for upto 4 paddle buttons on the back
>not having fully remappable buttons and mutliple profiles
>not having a choice of traditional or circular D-pad
>not having a Brook adapter that adds a fully functioning gyroscope for motion control, built in rechargable battery, full bluetooth functionality while maintaining hard-wire option
>not being able to use your controller on Xbox, PS4, Switch, any android device, or a PC

If you want to post a perfect controller, at least fucking try.

This post made me nostalgic for THE DUKE.

>inb4 poors complain about price
Pic related cost me $110 bucks. Got a secondhand "broken" Elite that only needed minor cosmetic fixes, a Brook adapter, and a set of gold paddles/D-pads

>complains about small hands affecting xbone controller design
>praises close side-by-side stick design that would have anyone but handlets accidently hitting their thumbs together
Regardless everyone itt is retarded because both controllers are fantastic even if the corporations that made them are not. I tend to prefer the DS4 because of the higher priority d-pad placement, since I play a lot of 2d games.

Xbox dpad was designed for mouth breathers who never touch it other than changing weapons in call of duty

The knockoffs are. My legit Saturn pad is somehow still going strong after like 25 years of severe abuse.

did the saturn play cds or something? what's with the stop and play/pause on top of the buttons ?

Underage

objectively better for any shooter, strategy, assfaggots, RPGs. basically anything that benefits from mouse cursor or precise which is a ton of games. for games that need more precise movement you could get one of those keyboards with a joystick and you have the best of both worlds

*precise aim

>not wired
D R O P P E D

only problem with it so far. i don't know why they persist in this folly.

Unironically my fav controller of all time.

The level of comfy is unprecedented

Second fav, Airflow OG Xbox controller

Attached: wiiu.jpg (800x600, 39.95K)

If it's anything like the xbone, it can be wired. Flimsy at best though.

because it's superior in literally every way
actually no, it's worse for microsoft because it means they will sell less controllers because they will be more reliable, based microsoft taking the loss for the customers

>trying to play a third person RPG on that shit

no thanks. i have an xbox one controller for such a purpose

Attached: Xt8drk1.jpg (450x450, 25.65K)

Not a controller but the Vita's dpad is perfection
Too bad with controllers the production costs have to be so low none of them will actually have good shit on them unless you mod it yourself

>piiu
>comfy

nintendo shills are really out in full force

Attached: IftnEMR.jpg (542x574, 135.74K)

if it's an rpg with more inventory management and bindings its better on kb&m

The Wii U damage control is going to be fierce, but you need to fight them every step of the way. People unironically think the gamecube and the n64 are good consoles now.

>Nintendo shills

I don't even own a switch bro and I think breath of the wild is merely OK at best.

3d games are fucking garbage and Xbox d-pad sucks. Best controller is Saturn controller

well the only other explanation is you've never touch another controller in your entire life

>Paddles are fucking useless because they're softer than your penis.
>Multiple joysticks because some retards actually would prefer to put themselves at a disadvantage and not use the tall ones.
>Remapping your controller to fuck up the inputs you've memorized. When most games just offer controller remaps anyway.
>Hair triggers that aren't supported in most games.

Just get some thumbstick grips. The only thing on offer for the elite is the circular dpad.
Enjoying your $110 dollar dpad?

I like both. PS4 feels good in the hands, my only issue is the fucking charge port and the short battery life. Xbox also feels good, actually superior, but it tends to have lesser build quality; the brand new white Xbone controller I bought has this creak/crunch in the left trigger, and the earlier Xbone controller models would explode if you breathed on them too hard. Xbone also has the stupid Micro USB port, but at least I can use AA's, and it has native compatibility with most PC games. I intend on buying a Series X controller, just for the USB-C compatibility.

I've played with this monstrosity only once in my life, but it was absolutely god awful.

...

yu can use battery

nearly 2 decades later, they still can't make a single good D-pad. Impressive.

>no gyro despite MS's biggest franchise (not counting minecraft deal) being an FPS
are they retarded?

I only keep a gamepad for emulation and lazy ports.

-PS4/5's controller is slightly bigger (despite looking slimmer)
- The bumpers and triggers are more ergonomicaly-agnostic (you can fit your finger in more ways, they aren't molded in a manner that fits your finger in specific ways - think of a right-handed only mouse VS a neutral mouse)
-Analogs, D-pad and face buttons are all bigger
-face buttons have a flat surface instead of Xbone's rounded surface
-D-pad is actually good
-Retards say the touch-pad is useless despite it working as up to 3 separate buttons. Somehow retards think that if a game has no swipe funtions it means the pad is useless despite being extremely usefull as extra buttons where needed

That's it I think. For PS5 it'll have more advanced rumble akin to Switch's joycons but this time you'll actually feel it considering everyone either gets the plastic attachment for the joycons which ruins the rumble or the Pro controller which has "dumb" rumble. PS5's controller will also have rumble motors on the triggers like Xbone.

KB+M is inherently trash for anything with even a slight focus on 3D movement. KB+M's only advantages are MMOs (dead genre), RTS (dead genre #2) and FPS in which the gap between controllers and KBM has been reduced due to gyroscopy

I'M FINE WITH A MUCH BETTER CONTROLLER THANK YOU

Attached: abortion.jpg (738x553, 33.03K)

FYI PS5 controller will also have USB-C.

The PS4 controller is bigger than the older Dualshocks so the stick placement is not really a problem for me and I have long ass hands. Like said, the battery life is so short, but the PS5 won't have the backlight so it's gonna be ok.

If only we had games to play using the controller.

You can play with your prostate if you use the vibration feature

absolutely disgusting

It's fucking bizarre. This is the kind backwards anti-consumer shit I expect from shitendo hardware, not M$ of all companies.

>more reliable
what is this meme? I've never had a nintendo/sony controller fail on me

how do you know this?

Doing this right now, it's GOTY

Why are the joysticks asymmetrical? I've never seen how this is good. Played several games on xbox and they all felt worse for it.
