Be honest, you kind of like Skyrim.
Be honest, you kind of like Skyrim
Sure, is that supposed to be something to be ashamed? Mods get a lot of the credit though.
i like it the least out of all elder scrolls i've played, including ESO, and is the only one i'd not visit again
It’s okay but after a while there’s just nothing to do
I enjoy that game when I was like either 13 or 14. Made 10 different characters and play the main story for 7 of them. Story is kinda ass when you get retold it as you get smarter do to brain development. Killing shit is probably fun still.
its boring, 95% of the dungeons are the same, and at the end of everyone is a mysterious exit right outside
its the epitome of casualized
I love playing it heavily modded. I think the base game was kind of shallow and doesn't deserve to be called an rpg. I have a soft spot for TES though. I like the lore. I hope the Beyond Skyrim project releases some new shit soon, it will prob be unironically better than the base game with even more content.
It's the only game I have ever refunded on steam.
It's worth 0 dollars.
>Check steam
>400 hours played
I guess it was alright.
Someone redpill me on the friend dragons mod. Dragons have a spiritual meaning dear to me and I would like to not fight them.
How does said mod influence the story?
... that's every game bro
Wrong.
>occasionally get nostalgia for it
>realise the game boils down to nothing more than a repetitive grind
>nostalgia still there though
Debatable, I think. I'm incapable of playing it without mods which isn't the case for Morrowind and Oblivion.
No, I don't
It's casualized as fuck. Baby's first open world RPG
Skyrim storytelling in a nutshell:
College of Winterhold storyline
>join faction
>Thalmor guy betrays faction
>you defeat him and become leader of the faction
Dark Brotherhood storyline
>join faction
>Clown guy betrays faction
>you defeat him and become leader of the faction
Thieves guild storyline
>join faction
>Old leader betrays faction
>you defeat him and become leader of the faction
Companions storyline
>join faction
>Old leader gets killed by generic faction
>you defeat him and become leader of the faction (and a werewolf)
>Be honest, you kind of like Mod Organizer.
Cicero didnt betray the brotherhood though, it was Astrid. Outside of that though you are 100% correct
MO is the best manager tho
I do, but only heavily modded
The vanilla combat is so fucking boring and feels weightless as fuck
MO2 is a work of art.
Dream Elder Scrolls game
>procedural-generation Daggerfall size and modern constructed open world hybrid with select locations made for the bigger story, but a massive 'wild country' of land connecting the very big set places
>Takes place in Hammerfall, High Rock, the ocean inbetween that and Yokuda, and Yokuda. Yeah it's back, time shenanigans look I don't want to go autist on the plot in my head but it's Doctor Who City of Death Villain meets Sea Elves meets Thalmor
>you can construct wagon caravans and ships to traverse this wild country, on both land and sea, with more lore characters to make a sort of quasi crew/party, or go solo in smaller Sailships and Personal Wagons
>Proper factions in every town, not simply Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild to compliment Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, proper brawler crews, city gangs, etc.
>special 'hey collect me' are more esoteric than Shouts, like 'lore markers' of the HoonDing and its many lives, you don't get some special super power, you just become able to increase your abilities or stats as you are more in sync with the idea of being the new world-shaper. You know, nostalgic views, trinkets and memories. That sort of thing.
Skyrim is great, but the lack of depth that Oblivion/morrowind had make it less replayable. You can't increase your movement speed or jump height, no actual custom spells, no stat checks for certain guilds, not as many ways to complete quests as previous games.
I like modding Skyrim but honestly it's mainly visual mods, new content mods usually feel out of place for me and the combat system will always be lackluster no matter the mod, so it's like tacking on a bunch of extra shit to something that can never be actually fixed.
I could never last very long while playing it and by that I mean I usually closed the game once I had ejaculated
Kind of, yeah.
>depth
Can we stop using this r*ddit tier buzzword?
it's shit tbqhf
Exactly. I kind of like it, but when I think about it for a sec, I don't actually like it very much at all.
For me it's the falmer heavy armor + shellbug helmet
Only good if you install enough mods to turn it into a different game
I want to like it.
For me, it's Daedric.
It's literal depth I'm talking about though. The systems in Oblivion and Morrowind have more depth. The same systems in Skyrim are toned down and missing spell creation and acrobatics/speed/jump height modifiers. You used to be able to make your own insane spells and also be able to navigate the world and reach places in ways a less nimble character could not.
There isnt a single thing I like about Skyrim, not one aspect of it.
For me, it's the elven bikini armor with chainmail tights (not pictured)
As a professional asset creator I LOVE skyrim. I'm working right now to make a set of lore matching Doom Eternal swords to bring into the game. I might take on adapting some of the sentinel armor but it depends on how much it holds my interest, I try not to make my job my hobby. Also have dozens of other personal projects sitting idle. Still, if you know how to mod Skyrim is second to none for customization.
The whole hating on skyrim meme is idiotic. It's also likely the last TES entry where modding is as open as it is. Expect the next one to be "Fallout 76" locked down completely.
I dont think even adding customes spells, jump/run speed, missing spells and what not could fix this game.
But user, you love the game because you can change everything about it. Doesn't that mean it wasn't any good to begin with?
This
The combat is the worst fucking thing, it's like they copied Oblivions combat and went: "eh, fair enough"
Everything feels fucking weightless and sluggish as fuck, combat in 3rd person is next to worthless, AI is retarded especially in big Battles where they all just clump into one spot.
They gotta get a whole new combat system for VI, the 2007 model doesn't fucking work anymore
Love it.
Filtered.
Skyrim VR is amazing.
I like spaghetti with meatballs but if i had to eat it consecutively for 9 years I would eventually grow tired of it aswell.
The OST is objectively GOAT.
I kind of hate skyrim but it mods can make the game enjoyable
I love Skyrim.
Best track coming through.
youtube.com
Nigga are you actually comparing VR to the vanilla game?
Wildcat, ultimate combat, revenge of the enemies, tk dodge and other mods can combine and make combat pretty intense and decent.
>dragons have a spiritual meaning dear to me
Shut up furry
>Grab this set
>Use exploits to get the unique staff that works as a key to Sovngard
>Walk around looking like an evil warlock
>Uninstall because I got tired of walking around and there's nothing interesting to do in Skyrim
Mortal Enemies alone improves things drastically.
>Jeremy soulless
nah
VR invalidates combat completely as shown by your WEBM.
VR does help the combat a bit as long as you're not intentionally trying to exploit it like , but for the most part yea it's pretty awful
Skyrim is best used as a modding sandbox
Oh yeah I have that one too. There are plenty of great combat mods.
>kind of
no i loved it. only place that foams at the mouth and goes "IT'S SHIT IT'S SHIT ITS SHIT" is Yas Forums.
For me, it's Whiterun.
youtube.com
Kinda amazes me people play VR when there's VorpX.
>Skyrim turns 10 next year
Where does the time go?
>close to 200 hours
>never gotten further than the battle of whiterun
Really like the open world in skyrim and I normally hate open world.
They're going to release it again, aren't they?
Holy shit that pic makes me want to redownload it
Falkreath...home...
I absolutely fucking love skyrim.
Such a pivotal game in my life dude.
Its just god damn incredible and transcendental and if you deny this youre a contrarian snowflake faggot and you should kys
I liked it in 2011. I hate it now fucking boring ass draugr dungeon simulator
Skyrim can be pretty still.
>as wide as an ocean
>as deep as puddle
What the fuck? I love Skyrim. Anyone who says they don't like it is lying.
I'm surprised that Fallout 4 managed to outdo skyrim in the shallow department while not even feeling as wide.
>MOM HE SAID IT AGAIN!!!!
Can look way better but I don't really know what I'm doing with mods and you can only do so much when playing at 4k. Also I'm not using an enb.
yeah because it's the best aftercombathappysex simulator
it's also rather pretty with mods
Where in the game is this?
I have never played skyrim
Is Oblivion really like this? How was this game even greenlighted for worldwide release?
