Hey Yas Forums let me ask you something. In the first two days or so every random island i visited had an animal and a campfire. The island was médium size or so. But now everytime i visit a random island they are empty and small sized.
Am i doing something wrong?

The first few times the games wants you to meet new villagers to fill out the houses Tom Nook will make you build.
After that you just get pushed into the randomized rotation.

When you talked to those animals you could invite them to your island, and early on, you can only invite 3 animals because your island maxes out at 5 villagers until you can open it up more with bridges and slopes.
This is only my guess, but I think that you only see an animal on the island if you can potentially invite them to live on your island, so if you don't have any more room, they just aren't there.

I am playing as a second resident on my GF's game. I know I can't do shit that progresses the island unless I'm the first villager, but it seems I can't even give other villagers gifts. She can walk directly up to them and give them shit and sometimes get gifts back. Should I be able to do this, too? Or am I fucked?
