>>FRIENDSHIP/LOVE GOOD
what? you want an edgelord game but also have them not hate religion?

It's peak contrarianism, is what it is.

This

final fantasy tactics?

>FRIENDSHIP/LOVE GOOD
The others are fine but this condition is nigh-impossible, it's just so obviously necessary for characters who go adventuring together to at least build up some decent camaraderie or else the game would be boring as fuck.
Literally every game mentioned ITT so far breaks this rule because it's just a fundamental, it's like asking for a JRPG without battles or something.

Bravely default doesn't have any of that kinda minus the power of friendship thing

FFT fails the very first point

>eggs
she'd be making something sweet, or at least pancakes so she can drown them in syrup. it's like they don't even know the characters!

I think Trials of Mana fits this quite well

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
>RELIGION BAD
Religious figures are all shown to be good people with no twist. There's subplot about a cult but they worship the dragon, not a god. Even when you meet god, he's not a bad guy.
>TECHNOLOGY BAD
No tech in the game in the first place, swords and sorcery.
>FRIENDSHIP/LOVE GOOD
Love is a theme, particularly in the Bitterblack Isle expansion, but not an overwhelming one; at best you give gifts to your preferred NPC to make them your Beloved. Friendship isn't actually touched on much, as Pawns are shown to have little in the way of full-fledged human emotions.
>300 year old loli party member
Character creator exists and is pretty fleixible so some people will make lolis but you don't need to.
>waifu audience
Again, character creator means it can be, but the game is also not anime-styled at all. Most people who don't make lolis make amazons.

This game btfos nips so hard, a literal Western joke game that is better than 95% of JRPGs at least.

FFX

>Western
Its going to be ugly as sin isn't it
>look it up, newgrounds tier shit
Yeeup.

it's literally a flash game, yes

>>no religion
Wow the writing must have flown past your head

Koudelka, you're a gypsy girl exploring a welsh castle where things have gone to fuck. One of the party members is religious but it's just treated as a part of his personality and background instead of tying it to a tangible good or evil force.

I think the remake looks great but Angela & Riesz are 100% for the waifu audience, the remake even more so than the original due to full 3D models and each class getting its own outfit. Charlotte is also a loli party member that is older than she looks and acts, just not that old.

The only thing I really disagree with is the friendship/love thing. That shit's great, seeing party members become pals and shit, but obviously power of friendship is kinda shitty, unless the villain uses it or something.

Miss me with that waifu/loli shit though, we need more husbandos. Better yet, a whole-ass RPG with only husbandos.

Attached: tumblr_pg1cc4xVGL1x0pagfo1_500.png (500x322, 112.67K)

FFX literally fails to meet a single criteria on that list short of the 300 year old party member not being a loli

There is no religion in the game proper. You understanding they took everything from hindu is you the player making a connection.
No one in the game has any understanding of the underlying themes. The entire game is them making sense of the situation in the void of that information.

Looks like you misread the writing of the game entirely.

I've got you covered

>>no religion
Did you miss the part where they said the sun is God and he fried the earth because mankind was being naughty?

Maybe he meant the Advanced titles but A2 definitely fails the friendship thing. A1 subverts it though.

from what I can tell that's what FFXV was supposed to be and that shit sucks

Radiant Historia

Japan doesn't make games with that much unironic gay energy unless they're gacha that bait fujos or barafags.

Did you miss the part where no one in the game comes to that conclusion?
The game is specifically about how to make sense of something based on a nonsensical religion that they have no basis for understanding.

I believe you mean SOULFUL.

Resonance of Fate, Desprism, and Shadow Hearts

Dragon Quest 3 I think

The sun is Brahman, and that isn't 'religion bad' when your party is the rest of the hindu gods

>FFXV
I think OP wanted a good JRPG, not some unfinished casual pandering crap that is so easy it makes Neptuina games look like fucking Dark Souls

I need a world without :

>OP breathing

That is all for now

>RELIGION BAD
>TECHNOLOGY BAD
>FRIENDSHIP/LOVE GOOD

Why are these such common things in Japan? Seriously, I've been watching through Space Battleship Yamato, even in a 1974 anime TECHNOLOGY BAD was a thing. The first season has aliens gift humanity a FTL drive and a device that can clean-up radioactive poison, but the beginning of the second season has the captain throw a bitch fit because the military is going to automate the Yamato so you don't need a crew to manually aim and fire all of the weapons. He should be happy that fewer people need to risk their lives, but says the automation is "Soulless" but was always perfectly fine with their android crew mate Analyzer on board.

Drakengard

>EVERYTHING bad
>Murder GOOD
>Dragonfucking GOOD

FFVI unironically
>only religious portion is side content with Kefka Doomsday cult tower
>characters use technology to practice magic and travel around
>you can choose not to get everyone back in WoR
>the only loli party member is not annoying at all and has some backstory with another party member giving her credence for existing as well as unique skill in battle
>only 2 waifu characters and they're the most narrative-focused of the cast rather than being sold on character design

>RELIGION BAD
In almost every depiction of any media the church is always a mafia, which isn't really far oof from what the vatican does

Technology literally bad though

everything is an analogy to the nuke and the american occupation

Not him, but OP if you're reading this I greatly enjoyed FFXV.
I put 100 hours into it at launch, no updates.

Except for all the times your side uses it

Pic related
>"Religion is alright lmao but DUDE TECHNOLOGY REALLY FREAKING ROCKS"
>no lolishit; instead we get beastmen, robots, and a hot amazon princess
>we get some "Alright guys. We need to work together if we want to stop this thing" but doesn't go full "POWER OF FRIENDSHIP"
Only caveat is the love interest miiiight be a 10,000 year old teenager, but she might've just been born 10,000 years ago, then got sent thru a time portal and grew up in present day.

Radiata Stories
FFXIV (though it's an MMO. Also the pope is the final boss of the first expansion, but overall I don't think that the game is anti-religion, most of the cast are religious)

Shit , fuck every suggestion in this thread, get fucking Shadow Hearts op. Godlike rpg that saved them in that era dias disappointing shit like ffx was coming out.

Their religions and general way of life doesn't revolve around technology, or didn't for thousands of years.
Being on an island nation the idea of "the other" is highly pronounced, which also makes kin stand out more as well.

>it's like asking for a JRPG without battles or something.
Are there any JRPGs without traditional combat? I'm curious now.

I put 80 at launch, got the Platinum, and I found it to be really mediocre and unfun

Just play one of the Mario & Luigi or Paper Mario games.

>Wanting a game without 300 year old cunny
Go back to the gay bar.

Nips have always seen technology as simply an aid for humans. It's why Mecha are usually analogous to conventional personal weapons rather than tanks or helicopters, an extension of the pilot rather than just a weapon used by them.

FFVII

Mother 2 is kinda close, the Friendship/Love Good thing is the only one it really kinda fails at and even then.

paper mario games have power of friendship to beat the final bosses

I'm okay with stories about friendship being a source of support for characters.
It's just when friendship literally becomes magic that I start rolling my eyes.

>need

You need food, water and a roof over your head.

You only 'want' a video game for a completely arbitrary reason

So almost never

Mario RPGs are FRIENDSHIP GOOD by default. Otherwise you're right.

I fucked up the spelling, it's Dewprism or otherwise known as Threads of Fate

>RELIGION BAD
This is westerners getting mad that gods are just powerful humans that can die and be born in polytheism, instead of an all encompassing entity of monotheism
>TECHNOLOGY BAD
Unironically more common in the west
>FRIENDSHIP/LOVE GOOD
You're basically playing kids games and it's a common message so they don't grow up into hikki neets

>waifu audience
This board is getting dumber by the day.

Damn that sucks, user.
I think I play games differently than most. I honestly spent 20+ hours just running around the world riding my chocobo.
I also never fast traveled in the car, I always rode it out and listened in on the conversations.
The world honestly felt so alive to me.
But I might be retarded because I never see anyone ever making the same points I do

Attached: 1579184038501.jpg (295x350, 18.27K)

FF7 was kinda anti-technology.
Persona 5 was close. While previous games you used your friendships to power yourself up in the endgame, 5's social links just help you get out of jail. It's the power of fanboys that magically power you in the endgame.

Fallout

She's making a complete breakfast user!
She has to make eggs, and candied bacon, and pancakes with fruit and chocolate chips mixed in with a ungodly amount of syrup, but she's feeding every one so she's got to make it balanced

Attached: tumblr_a8dc67ffdecef2c2a66595e5a3b5d24d_94282697_1280.gif (576x792, 87.57K)

Dragon Quest is good for most of that.

>church is good
>people love orbal tech
>friendship/love is good like in real life, but it's not personified as a power up or anything
>loli parry member is 11 :^)
>All the "Estelle's game" shit is Yas Forums being autistic as per usual. The game is ABOUT her, not her showing you panties or confessing to you, the MC-kun.
Don't play the newer games.

Japan's religions have generally been Shinotism and Buddhist, and despite the huge number of temples, neither have had a huge church/organized flock outside of community festivals that they aren't shamed for ignoring. Other huge world religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism on the other hand have historically been about shaming their flock and killing their competitors. Japanese games usually have Gods as good and neutral forces as much as negative ones, and even then the evil forces are almost always the ones being supported by an organized and overbearing church presence. I guess it's a nation of fedora tippers that didn't have to rebel against their parents to get to their conclusions.

>While previous games you used your friendships to power yourself up in the endgame
Doesn't the P3 ending have a ball of friendship magic go into your body to get you back on your feet and seal Nyx?

Yeah, you are better off just using the english name.
That sorta thing shouldn't bug me, but it does. I knew someone who would call "Ghost in the Shell" by it's japanese name. First time he did I asked him what anime he was talking about and it's like just use the english name you nerd.

Only when it came to Mako. Can't condemn an entire thing based on one application. It's not like they do that either.

Forgot pic FUCK

Play blue dragon or lost odyssey for xbox 360.

>TECHNOLOGY BAD
you can't be aware that Yas Forums exists and tell me technology is an objectively good thing.

Any JRPG made before FFVII.

friendship is magic though. There is no reason we should be doing it instead of taking what we want from anyone we see.
The fact we integrate it into our lives is a work of magic.

Sounds like you shouldn't play Jrpgs

that's not a JRPG

>RELIGION BAD
>TECHNOLOGY BAD

>300 year old loli party member
>Character creator exists and is pretty fleixible so some people will make lolis but you don't need to.
Selene ends up living in your house if you do her quest and shes very old, probably over 100. Granted she's not a party member I think its worth mentioning.

Yeah

The World Ends With You on the DS is absolutely excellent if you haven't tried it. The ascetics and sound design are kind of polarizing to be frank, and the ports range from serviceable to active butchery. The core message isnt so much FRIENDSHIP GOOD but rather if you shut yourself off from people you deny yourself the opportunity for growth, and in a life and death situation you better grow. Also it deserves points for utilizing every single unique feature of the DS in some way that doesn't feel contrived, and the difficulty is highly customizable with a balance between risk, skill, and rewards.

uuhhhhhh

Define traditional
Cause there's definitely weirdo ones like Arc Rise Fantasia, which is a shit game but tried some shit you don't usually see in JRPGs

t. posted from my iPhone xX_sEpHiRotH_Xx

Well the child character category it passes since she's an actual child, not 300 years old.

You know, looking at the box pimp out that Sakaguchi, Toriyama, and Uematsu were all on this, it's a little odd that Blue Dragon didn't really make much of an impact. I guess that's the fate of being an Xbox-exclusive Japanese title, outside of maybe Metal Wolf Chaos (Otogi series were the better Xbox From games though).

>Shadow Hearts
Also Koudelka.

Yes just take 1 game out of 9 set in the same world cherrypicked and tell everyone to ignore the rest.

Don't listen to this propaganda

Maybe you're just a bitch user.

Shadow Hearts is just the shitty animefied sequel to Koudelka after it failed to meet the sales expectation it deserved
