interdimensional CIA nigger
He smell like apricot
Gay man
I want to FUCK him. Understand?
>woah so this man has unlimited power and can bend everything, even time
>has clear limits shown in Episode One
HLA really did shit on previous HL games lore, didn't it
Dude can be locked away how is that not a limit.
Arent you literally breaking him out of prison in Alyx?
he is a nihilanth he has the same powers
he is turbo captialist as opposed to the combine who are turbo commie
Gman is the developers. His ''employers'' are Gabe Newell and whoever is the project lead for Half Life games.
He is just the developers breaking the fourth wall. Gman is who puts Gordon (the player) wherever he needs to be and Gman is the one who puts Gordon in stasis between releases.
This is all there is to it, and it's as lame as it sounds.
Nigger, he was literally imprisoned in HL:A
You can walk freely around your room.
You can't walk through a wall though.
Just imagine to him traversing through time is similar.
There are limitations, but they're beyond our understanding.
He's Gordon Freeman in the future
Employed by a mysterious party
Enemy of the Combine
Has interdimensional powers
Impeccable grooming and suit
Allowed to nudge and alter things ever so slightly
Uses "hired" help to do his bidding
In conflict with the Vorts
Admires Freeman, even as he discards him
Has hots for Alyx
it actually sounds cool tho
Why didn't the Nihilanth just stop time to kill you during your boss fight?
I want him to suck and fuck my tight little boy ass.
From what i gather he is beyond time and space mostly. With some limitations tho.
Best question is who his employers are. If he has this kind of power , how about them?!
Also, in HLA, was he captured or just wanted to meet Alyx?
You know what Gman reminded me off in his scenes in ALYX?
NuValvo DeSanto fucking suck. I hope they give the other IPs to someone capable. Half Life now is for pajeets and YouTube children. Just go look at the comments on how epic the ending was and how epic half life 3 is coming. Those aren't the comments of normal people.
why doesn't gman just stop time to kill anyone he wants dead?
His employers are all the important people at Valve. They spell it out for you. Gman straight up tells you that his employers were keeping him from making another Half Life game.
Even if he was massively powerful. Showing us he has time travel and can change anything was just piss poor and lazy.
>its a retarded time travel retcon
god fuck these campo santo faggots
Because he isn't a boss dummy.
>who at his employers
Its gay that newfags don't realize he's spoke of employers way back when. This isn't a new thing he's referenced. Fucking zoomers.
Glownigga
>Gordon goes through hordes of shit in 3 games
>Is NEVER, NOT ONCE, given a chance to "nudge" anything by Gman
>Woman comes and lets him out of his closet, suddenly the genie grants her wishes
Yeah okay. Gman is just a simp white knight huh
well, you see. Alyx can talk
Is campo santo apart of valve now or what?
Gordon is a hyperautist. G Man has no chips to bargain with.
>Enemy of the Combine
debatable tbqh, his group could work for the highest bidder, especially seeing that he actively makes deals all over the place with different parties. The Combine gained a lot from the conclusion of Halflife1; not only had the G-man's meddling gotten rid of the Nihilanth for them, but the Earth and the superior portal technology that Blackmesa had been researching was within the inter-dimensional empire's grasp
Quick rundown on him:
> Freeman bow to the G-Man
> in contact with space-time organization
> rumoured to possess reality altering abilities
> control everyone with a corporate fist
> owns a cool suitcase
> direct descendants of no one or anything that we know of
> will form contracts with the first freed Earth leaders
> in the process of terraforming Earth through the combine as their own pet project
> own basically every DNA in existence
> first time travellers will have contracts with the G-Man
> said to have infinite IQ
> Ancient slavic scriptures tell of a suited angel who will descend upon a land of great knowledge and bring an era of contracts and unprecedented employment, this is the G-Man
> Employs people to research anything just cause
> You likely have G-Tech with you right now
> Every living thing will eventually form a contract with the G-Man
> In regular communication with his supervisors, forwarding their will
> Discovers ancient artifacts and promptly has them destroyed to control the balance of power
> Can speak any language that ever existed, exists or will exist
> Combine allow him full access to the Dysonsphere within the Quantum Singularity
> Entire species entrust their futures to the contracts they form with him
> Is literally timeless
> G-Man will guide humanity into a new age of wisdom, peace and love
He can't just change anything.
He explicitly says there are consequences.
Contracting Alyx is a way to motivate Gordon.
Gordon has been his major focus, and now he has a way to get him to do what he wants.
Giving Alyx her father was evidently an easy trade to achieve this aim.
The Vortigaunts tied Alyx and Gordon's fates together in Ep2.
lol but gets btfo by these dudes
Mob boss.
Anyone notice how Gman is both blue shifting and red shifting in the last cutscene?
Very neat detail.
Except brainlets out there keep forgetting about those fundamentals. I mean, this story is not that complex is you fallow all the major beats of it, why are people seething about this time travel stuff if it fits perfectly with all the narratives we had so far?
Gmod = garry's mod
Gman = garry's man
Huh, that is some attention to detail for sure.
I haven't played it so I don't know the full story and details but what it seems like to me is, Gman wants to fix the "timeline" into how it was supposed to be. Alyx was meant to die in Episode 2 but the Vorts interfered and saved her. In exchange, Eli dies instead. Remember Gman's "We'll see about that" line?
Now he does a trade to put things back to how they were originally intended.
>Alyx was meant to die in Episode 2
She was meant to die before that, at the end of HL2 when the top of the tower blows up. It seems the Vortigaunts love throwing spanners into G-Man's plans wherever possible.
gman is the guy valve pulls out when they've written themselves into a corner so that they can turn around and face another corner
I didn't wait over a decade for them to just completely nullify this.
how does this game not pretty much confirm that gman is gordon? seriously gman went through all of that horse shit just so he can get gordon back
the advisor Alyx killed was actually the G Man, she didn't kill him, she actually released him from the combine's control
a plot device that Valve lost a grip on as their narrative spun out of control.
That doesn't mean that G-Man is Gordon, only that G-Man apparently needs Gordon to complete whatever objective his employers have set him.
Alien pretending to be a human (powers, speech pattern, employers, eyes, and the fact that the first thing he says to you he associates human flesh with outfits).
He is able to "hire" people (seems like one person at a time, but he can do time shenanigans to anyone, like shepherd) and he basically contracts them out to different races.
Somebody wanted xen to invade black mesa, there to basically be no survivors (the Gman handled most exceptions), and the weird thing is the nihilanth seems to be working for superiors too. Either way the vortiguants were slaves on xen, but now the combine invaded and enslaved humans and vortigaunts. Gman let this happen until HL2, someone clearly hired him and Gordon to fuck up the citadel.
When Gordon does it it's pretty clear a surprise offer was made. Gman probably got an offer from combine higher ups just to take Gordon out of the equation. Gordon is protected by the vortigaunts. In ep2 the moment the vortigaunts are preoccupied gman isnt allowed to "protect" Gordon or alyx, so the combine contract is probably still in effect, but he tells Gordon to get alyx to white forest "in exchange for your survival" IE hes dropping Gordon from employment as long as he takes alyx to the end of ep 2.
Then HLA happens, Gman hires alyx because he has faith shell be better than Freeman. Also because the vortigaunts are probably only able to help one person at a time and they're protecting gordon.
Maybe his powers don’t work in zen?
Ah! So this truly is the Half-Life 3: What Has To Be Done
He controls time and space, this much was knwon, he can go back in time to change things, this was not really known, doing so he gives alyx a deal, he lets Alyx save her dad from dying in episode 2, and in return fires gordon and hires alyx as his new associate, thus setting the plot for half life 3
Massive spoilers ahead wahoo.
The Combine aren't actually invading Earth to take over. They're an intergalactic empire but they don't want Earth for themselves, the Combine are actually the 'good' guys and they are undertaking a self-imposed sacrifice to quarantine entire worlds. These entire worlds have to be quarantined because of the Gman, who is 'infecting' them by picking and choosing individuals to sway the course of time into his approved route. This has happened across the cosmos and the Combine are trying to prevent Time and Space from collapsing or just frankly going crazy, by trying to put a lid on top of everything Gman has caused. This is why they showed up after Gman's caused Resonance Cascade, this is why they imprisoned Gman and planned to get him off Earth, and this is why they tried to kill anyone who found out about Gman's location because then those people become compromised. This is why Alyx, who was already unknowingly under Gman's influence of 'fate', she was referred to as "infected"/"contaminated" by the Combine when she's inside the quantum prison. Gman is a threat to the Universe and every world he has touched, ends up in quarantine until it's fixed.
The father of Bane
fan theories never pull everything together. some theorists focus on in-game story events (pocketbros). some theorists focus on vort lore (gordon is a hivemind liked the vorts since he's controlled by many players). some theorists focus on unreleased content (epistle 3 believers).
That a pretty great theory
you just ran with gman being imprisoned in a giant virus looking structure, right?
probably an alien himself who has beef with the combine
Why does gman take Gordon away at the end of half life 2 under the impression that a new offer was made? He doesnt even imply he knows if Gordon is gonna come back out of stasis (implying the combine literally just wanted him gone as the offer). The combine and gman are probably compatible with each other, gman just seems like a free agent.
