Nope. These games are in a relatively niche genre and its the fifth entry so newcomers are somewhat scared off by being late to the party. That said, I don't get how MH sells many millions more despite that series also being action heavy.

Making sure a game works as it should is literally a developers job, finding a bug in DMC5 is funny because the devs fixed a thousand others you never got to see.

Itsuno prides himself on the polish of DMC, so yeah no shit he feels a bit bad when players find stuff like that. He works extremely hard to make sure that won't happen.

Dragon's Dogma had such a bland story to begin with anyways, a soft reboot of it is probably guaranteed for the second game just because the biggest complaints of the first game were regarding the lack of an engaging story or interesting characters (apart from Grigori).

What little is known about the anime seems really interesting. It's still about the dragon, but it's exploring darker subjects which, to be honest, were not touched on as much as they should have been in the first game.
