Ah yes... because Hector, that paragon of characterization and design, is such a linchpin of the entire Castlevania franchise. After all, Curse of Darkness was a multi-million blockbuster title for the Playstation 2, beloved by fans and critics alike.
Indeed, that very game and Hector included shaped the very foundation of the medium for the better part of a decade. How ever will we be able to undo the damage that the totally 100% canon Netflix animated series has wrought?
Nobody appreciates your faggotry.
Go back to where you came from.
>100% canon
Kill yourself
>Curse of Darkness Hector is a driven, strong-willed, martially skilled warrior guy who kicks the shit out of monsters and creates his own, who betrayed Dracula because he saw the good in the world and married a woman he fell in love with
>Netflix Hector is a doormate whimp who did what dracula told him to and got bullied by female vampires whose only defining features are that he's a mopey emo and he apparently fucks good
Talk about butchering a character, huh?
Cope.
did he marry this vampire or something? They did a great job of destroying alucard forever.
He became her slave boytoy pet
She's a very very qt vampire to be fair though and the ring thing is the shittiest deus ex machina ever
did you watch the new season?
actual spoilers for season 3:
hector is taken captive by the vampire camilla, and taken to her castle in waythefuckoffsomewhere. there he is stripped naked and imprisoned and given only rotten food with worms and weavils on it to eat. one of camilla's sister, the red head bitch who's the "softie" of the vampire sisters, starts hitting on hector and giving him food & clothes and kisses and shit. he eventually gives in to her and they fuck like animals, but then the ginger bitch slips a ring of domination on hector (he didn't know this) and begs him to swear loyalty mid-fuck. this triggered the ring and now hector can't go against her will. season end.
The Castlevania series isn't particularly well-written. Neither are the games.
Hector married a woman named Rosaly, who was a laysister and healer of the church who nursed his wounds he recieved after defecting from Dracula's army, possibly Demons sent to accompany him on his original mission to assassinate Trevor. Hector and Rosaly married and lived together for three years until Isaac found out Hector was still alive. He framed Rosaly for witchcraft and she was burnt at the stake, leading to the events of Curse of Darkness. This vampire chick is basically Warren Ellis making shit up as he pleases.
I guess we won't get curse of darkness the way the anime is going.
The games don't try to be more than they are, the series should have either stuck with the simple good vs evil plot and cliché twists for the sake of action scenes and fanservice or tried to give more depth to the characters to have potential, they instead went for the ebin GoT audience and made it about court intrigue abd shock for shock value without being able to write any of that.
Also, every Castlevania arc would have worked better for this except Simon's, but something tells me they went with Castlevania 3 so they could force their OC shit with the excuse Castlevania 3 didn't have a story, and they even fucked this up by not including one of the only 5 Castlevania 3 chars, even if he himself would have probably been a better sympathetic villain prisoner-ally than Hector since he was turned into a monster and resents Trevor for marrying Sypha going by the fighting game
Asking as someone who decided to pass on the anime; why the hell is it going so SLOW? Castlevania has at least 700 years of events, why are they still on Dracula's Curse? Do they expect the show to get twenty seasons or something?
In a way it's a blessing Grant was spared the misery of being part of this show's legacy.
So the only saving grace of this animu is that this vampire chic that domming hector is cute, and possibly, if there will be any season 3, we will hate her because of how she will use hector
They wasted 3 seasons for OCs loosely based on Castlevania 3 and LoD, 4 at least actually since it's not over yet
They blew their chances, they wanted to go up to Soma Cruz by I bet we won't even reach fucking Simon
Probably they don't want to change the main cast as they think people got attached to them
This was Season 3, next is 4
90% of the OCs and court intrigue dumb shit exists just to fill the gaping whole in the plot the simplistic but effective character of Death fills in the game's storyline.
Oh right I forgot that Yas Forums is filled with hardcore Curse of Darkness fans. That's why you've all been so respectful and pleasant over the years when I talked about how I enjoyed the game.
Can't wait to see what stupid shit you whine about in season 4.
Nah,he's a retard and It's obviously going to end up dead.
I didn't watch this show, but this sounds like shit
There is something wrong with his voice acting. He talks too fast or something, is it just me?
Congratulations you fit in on Yas Forums
Nobody complained about CoD's plot schizo, people just hate the shitty 3D gameplay
Leon is considered one of the best Belmonts but no one likes to play Lament of Innocence
>Nobody complained about CoD's plot schizo, people just hate the shitty 3D gameplay
That's because nobody gave the generic story in CoD the time of day until Hector was somehow ruined forever. Hector was boring as fuck.
I've even seen some of you niggers act like show Isaac is worse than game Isaac.
>Leon is considered one of the best Belmonts but no one likes to play Lament of Innocence
Oh nice a second completely retarded sentence, I was worried you had something good to say.
the writing is arse but the fight scenes are neat (though in need of more frames) and the girls are cute.
in that sense it's not too different from most anime
That's dumb, especially since some characters come back in big ways later on
>put that spotlight on Alucard in Casltevania 3, flesh him out reasonably and make him a fan favorite
>move on, do Christoper, Simon, Juste and Richter
>Richter gets shafted by Shaft, no Belmont to save the day now
>Alucard returns after like four seasons of absence
Casuals would go fucking nuts over it and the show would get a renaissance of popularity. Think about how much they'd lose their shit when Fake Trevor appears and Alucard has to fight him
>move on, do Christoper, Simon, Juste and Richter
lmao are you serious? Yeah casuals would go nuts over Cristopher and Juste!
Fair enough, they could get away with just doing Simon and Richter.
Trevor vs hector when?
Better, and I agree. We need a split season of Rondo/SotN or something, that's what I want.
you didn't actually watch it in english, did you?
Anyone else here want to see Lenore appear in a Castlevania game?
I think Rondo has enough happening to justify getting its own season, it has cutscenes and a number of characters. I'd definitely merge CV1 with Simon's Quest to make one season, though.
youtube.com
Curse of Darkness had a fucking amazing soundtrack. For all the bitching I see on Yas Forums I only rarely see people bring up the biggest flaw of the show - the terrible score.
why is Trevor so lazy in the anime?
Fair enough.
Unless CV1 was handled like Primal and done entirely silently I think its way too bland, and mixing it with CV2 would feel kinda retarded imo
>kill Drac
>oops I gotta get Drac back
>okay time to kill Drac again
>Leon is considered one of the best Belmonts
Leon is pretty terrible, and so is Lament of Innocence.
this isn't Yas Forums
Right, its Yas Forums
>Hes nothing like the game
Neither is the series.
I can't understand why Castlevania fans keep watching this tripe.
You don't have to watch it to know it's complete garbage. Alucard, the strongest character in the series, is portrayed like complete bitch whos getting raped in his ass while he's crying. Trevor, devout christian is now an atheist and a complete beta.
How any fan of the series can watch this shit is a mystery to me.
>You don't have to watch it to know it's complete garbage
lol and you go right to bitching about Alucard getting raped
>Trevor, devout christian is now an atheist
Trevor isn't an atheist you dipshit.
Yes.
>Trevor, devout christian is now an atheist
They literally said god isn't real and the church is corrupt. Get the fuck out nigger
It's an english show, so yes
Keep defending your homo cartoon you inbred mutt.
Outside of the one time they use a bloody tears remix do they ever use any songs from the games?
They could make things more interesting if they take inspiration from Haunted Castle and CV4 for the opening stretch. In Haunted Castle Dracula rises right after Simon gets married, and Dracula kidnaps his bride. Make the trek to the castle a big part of the story like in CV4, make his bride Selena an important character who provides perspective, and then as Simon defeats Dracula he gets cursed unknown to Simon. Simon tries going back to his new life with his bride and soon children, only for his body to start deteriorating after several years. Simon has to abandon his newly-formed family and determine the cause of his rot, and when he learns of the curse the plot of CV2 kicks off, Simon needing to find Dracula's body parts by visiting various towns, treated as a leper and losing strength. Turn hint NPCs into OCs, incorporate the false hints as a follower of Dracula gives Simon bad advice to try and get him killed, etc. Cap the season with CV2's bad ending where Simon succumbs in the final battle, his resurrection of Dracula having been pointless and Dracula getting the last laugh despite being vanquished once again.
lol imagine being so mad at a show that you have to lie about it.
Nowhere in the show does Trevor state that God is not real.
That honestly sounds terrible with an ending that cements the season as a waste of time. Congratulations on killing the show though.
The trek to the castle is what I wanted from season 2 but maybe we'll get it some day.
Not defending his characterisation, just laughing at your complete lack of comprehension skills.
>his characterisation
*the show, bleh.
I can't fucking believe they managed to make an autistic muslim nigger storyline the most interesting one in the whole show.
Even Belmont adventures were garbage this season, and the rest is a trash fire
I really wanted grant DaNasty jokes though
I can understand not liking the bittersweet ending, but what's wrong with the rest of it? Castlevania 2 is one of the more unique plots in the series and making the defeat of Dracula in CV1 the midpoint provides a contrast to most other Belmont storylines where they defeat Dracula and that's the end.
why did richter give up the whip to the morrison family?
based
obnoxious spastics seething
Wonky tonal shifts and time skips. And again it suffers from the problem of
>beat Drac
>oops gotta get Drac back
>beat Drac (oh wait no I die XD)
yeah because it's not like konami already ruied Grant in the canon
He royally fucked up by getting posessed/mind controled and almost resurrecting dracula. The whip was straight up cursed into sapping the life of the user from that point on is how badly he fucked up
Cringe
Retarded shills like this seething that nobody is watching the animated fag series.
Because he used the vampire killer for evil and either it or he had to be cleansed (I can't remember exactly) until the time came to wield it again.
Pretty sure it was the VK itself that was affected by it.
He was cursed by a retcon.
This. The series is a mess but there are exactly zero reasons to give a fuck about it.
>tfw love Richter
>hes the fucked up in the Belmont family
He still fought against Dracula and was a force for good. And it all worked out in the end so clearly God was on his side.
Besides he killed Shaft's fucking ghost, how the fuck did that nigger come back?
Simon doesn't actually intentionally raise Dracula in CV2. He's just trying to collect his parts and burn them at Dracula's castle ruins. He had no clue Dracula's ghost would rise as a result (and it only happened because, according to a guidebook for the game, there was an extra body part in the ruins he didn't know of and burning the parts without burning that let Dracula come back). I think the "Simon's such a Chad he killed Dracula then brought him back to life just to kill him again" meme is taken too much to heart, in the actual game he thinks he just has to burn the body and that's it.
And you can't really do CV2 at all without a time skip, so I don't know how you'd fix that without skipping Simon altogether. Richter's story would have an unavoidable time skip too, almost as long as Simon's.
