It's a combination of sour grapes and actual issues with the game/story. The issues are being blown out of proportion by people who cant actually experience how fun the gameplay is so they focus extremely hard on the weak parts of the story. It's a solid 8/10 imo, will be 9/10 when they fix a couple bugs and add more options for how to make movement work (which has already been updated to add smooth turning).

DESU a lot of the criticisms of it on Yas Forums were pretty accurate but the glowing reviews are also accurate

It's really fun and definitely worth playing, but when VR gets more developed the game probably won't have aged well, just like most early 3d games look like shit now. No buyers remorse here either way, I bought my headset for porn and this is a neat bonus

It's really not but OK. By your logic all shooters are just doom clones with new paint jobs. It innovates in a lot of ways and interactivity is really well done in most of the game. Seeing a room get torn apart from collateral damage during a firefight just makes it seem so real.

To be fair user, I think what that guy means is that the quests computing ability isn't well off on it's own, leaving allot of exclusivesto be looking a little less than desired. Pair that with Facebook's unwillingness to swallow their pride and allow other company collaboration, and not officially condoning things like steamVR, it makes for a rough catalog.
Yet Facebook continues to support the quest so virulently, maybe it'll be more powerful in the future.
