openrct2 lets you play the rct1 scenarios if you have rct1 installed, it's in the options menu
it's basically a massive bugfix/improvement mod for rct2 that adds some features like optional multiplayer and modern os support
Yeah, I have 1, 2, and Open on the desktop. Will scenario completions be recorded? Like, if I open up 1 and go to scenarios will it show that I beat one if I did beat it in Open?
yep. there's a thing in the options menu where you can specify the directory for rct1 scenarios. if you set it to the right directory, they show up in the scenario listing just like rct2's do and record your completion the same way.

Finished FFXHD and instantly started up FFX-2. Loved it on release when i was like 12 but here i am at 31 replaying it and while i'm not "EWW IDOLS GAY" because the whole point is the world drastically shifting when its not on a cycle of Sin wiping the slate clean every ten years anymore you can feel the low budget nature of it right down to ui stuff.

Tried doing that in preparation for Parkitect, but with 1 through 3 and all expansions, unfortunately after being spoiled by modern game design and quality of life i only managed to get bored to death by RCT1's expansions, they're unbelievably repetitive and the win conditions start to get ludicrous after a point, you're not building parks, just roller coasters and the paths that lead to them, built a nice park? Fuck you better start ruining your fucking aesthetics right now with a dozen floating coasters and rides all the way to hell and back if you want the park value to attract enough costumers, forgot campaigns even for a second? tough luck pal better restart you're not gonna make it. And then there's modding which is a fucking nightmare.

The strategy is to make your park enticing enough so that you can charge $50+ for entrance, then you advertise like mad. In no time you have more money than you know what to do with. Then you can modify the park to be an aesthetic wonderland.

Money is rarely a problem, pretty sure a few good coasters are better for money than entrance fees will ever be, advertisement is boring and by the time you can go fully aesthetic its probably already over.
The scenario can be finished, that doesn't mean the level has to be.

Slogging my way through DOOM Eternal. Weapon swapping for every enemy is a pain in the ass, especially on console where I can’t just hit a number to change to a weapon. Gotta make sure to chainsaw on cooldown since sufficient pickups is a thing of the past. What a disappointment.
