This is a tech demo. It's not made to sell itself. It's made to sell VR which it does really well. Same as boneworks. If valve owns the first successful VR system then they are going to dominate the market. I hear people saying they don't like VR as a concept. I don't hear people saying that the index is bad VR or that Alyx is a bad VR game. The only complaint is that it's expensive and they can't afford it. Nowadays cell phones cost $1000 and you have people buying new phones every few years. People are disconnected with how much they are actually willing to pay for entertainment.
