yesterday we had a good lore thread, it appears they may have retconned Dr. Hayden into being Samur and Vega being The Father. So that would make Samuel (Samur) Hayden a Maykr himself.

It wasn't obvious to me until it was brought up but it's a potential explanation. Hayden didn't seem to care about Vega being backed up in 2016 either...

There's a time gap between 2016 and eternal. Hayden obviously took the crucible and went on a journey learning about all kinds of shit during that time.

when doomguy plugs vega into the Maykr machine in Urdak, he says he's The Father. and since The Father ran off with Samur...put two and two together. who is Samur? There's no one else and why does Hayden know everything there is to know about the Maykr? He also has dialogue takling about Khan Maykr and all of this would have been different under different leadership (himself) so all of his actions in 2016 could be explained easily by him being Samur, who put Doomguy into the immortality machine.

The only thing that doesn’t add up is in 2016 we see pictures of him being human, and stories of him being born into a wealthy and well known family, getting his first Masters Degree at like 16, etc. Although I suppose reincarnation isn’t totally out of the question here

Hayden wasn’t really written as a good guy, if you read the codex he knew a Demon Apocalypse would happen if he brought Argent to Earth, and did it anyways because he was so up his own ass he thought he could stop it without the Doomguys help. That’s why he was torn to shit when you get to ARC HQ.

We'll probably find out in the next two DLC, they left it dangling for us, two big mysteries, Samur and what happened after 2016. Hayden fits but it would admittedly require a retcon. but there could be other explanations that fit better.

Theyre called Maykrs. They’re aliens from another dimension/planet with godlike technology. Long ago “The Father” made them, but he went missing. Since then they’ve become corrupt, parasitic, having races like the Night Sentinels as their servants while also having a back alley deal with Hell to receive argent energy (which effectively keeps them immortal). Hell invades a planet, The Night Sentinels put on a good show, the planet is consumed, the souls collected are refined into argent, and the survivors go on to become new Night Sentinels

I feel like 2016 Doom was supposed to get DLC that led to Eternal, absolutely nothing at the start of Eternal makes sense following 2016 Doom.

the enemies also(on top of leading their shots) stray of the path and try to cut you off, so the best thing you can do is to move in random directions instead of circling them in the arena.

I mostly just hate that he stops an entire charged ballista shot if even one part of the arc hits him, it should just stop the part he touches to it can still go through and kill everything behind him.
