So basically, if I am understanding correctly, the difference between the PS5 and SeX is that SeX will have better ray tracing and should run all games in 4k without much issue, while the PS5 will have almost none to no load times at the cost of having worse ray tracing while maybe not hitting full 4k in more demanding games but getting pretty close? At the end of the day, the PS5's PC GPU equivilent can still do 4k Ultra settings at everything that moves and never drop below 30fps, and even has a stable 60fps at 4k ultra on tons of games. SeX may technically be more future proof, but we all know by the time these consoles start losing their edge they are just gonna release "Pro" versions anyway.
Anyway, knowing all of this, why is everyone doomposting over how it's over for Sony? The power gap between the two is signifigantly less than the gap between the Xbox One and the PS4, in the PS2 gen the power gap was huge with the PS2 being the significantly weaker console, and Wii absolutely destroyed PS3 and 360 despite one of the biggest power gaps in gaming console history. PS5 and SeX are pretty close in specs, and ultimately the differences are going to end up with demanding games running 1900p on PS5 while they run a full 2160 on SeX, a minimal and almost invisible price to pay in exchange for no loading times. The fact that the SeX can do much better ray tracing is going to be the biggest and maybe only major graphical difference between the two systems that you won't need some hardcore analyzer like digital foundry comparing side by side for you notice.
the xbox will perform vastly better, have higher fps, higher graphics settings, way better ray tracing, more games fit on your system, better everything. the ps5 will have 1 second faster load times, maybe. ps5 might have a few exclusive games that have a unique design because of the ssd, maybe.
its that simple. xbox can also possibly be upgraded with faster SSDs than the ps5's anyway with the third party NVME cards.
Grayson Sullivan
sex will be the lead platform. That is all that matters. I will be having sex next year for sure.
Xavier Torres
Backwards compatibility is another huge one. SeX seems like it's going to be completely (possible hardware-based?) compatible with Xbone along with all of the 360/OG Xbox games the Xbone is BC with. They also seemed to imply that that BC list will keep growing. I'm buying the SeX because of that, Snoy fucked a golden opportunity to blow SeX out of the water with their unbeatable library on PS1-3. They're not even supporting all PS4 games at launch.

Problem is Playstation trying to compete with xbox. They should've keep console 9 tf and less cost cooling solution. Sony is not being based, a overclocked console with variable frequency is not helping developers. This will cause heat and performance problems. They making a big mistake with that. 5.5 gb/s SSD is most unnecessary thing about ps5. Just 1st party games can use the full potential of ssd which is 10-15 games. Basically Sony making same mistake with PS3.
Elijah Scott
Doesn't matter if the Xbox has no games. Xbox One X is hilariously more powerful than the PlayStation 4 Pro, but no one noticed or cared because there's nothing to play. When there is, the games run worse on Xbox, ironically. Look up the Resident Evil 3 benchmark between PlayStation and Xbox. Consoles are about the experience. Something you shills clearly don't understand. If you care so much about specs get a PC.
Benjamin Morales
PS5 and XSX have exactly the same CPU, GPU and RAM. The difference is that the XSX has more of each. The XSX CPU has higher clock, the GPU has more CUs, it has more Ram... The PS5 on the other hand has a slightly faster SSD. If this translate to 4k/60fps or not it all depends on what the devs want to do. Like on consoles devs often choose to go lower frame-rate to push graphics.
Kevin Gonzalez
Problem is sony is trying to compete with microsoft in getting partnerships with component manufacturers, thinking that they are making something revolutionary. Fucking dipshits like microsoft isn't twirling it's tentacles in every major manufacturer and developer.
Noah Diaz
Any game that can be played on the xbox one will be playable on the SeX. All accessories will work as well.
Logan Flores
Yeah, this is the bigger picture of problem.
Carter Long
Basically PS5 is going to be shit and SeX is going to outperform it along with most PCs (PCfags won’t admit this though)
Leo Lewis
PC Gamer page of something already admit it.
Caleb Turner
remember that the PS5's variable frequency tech is scaling based off of power limits, not thermal limits. GPU will only run at max speed if the game isn't CPU heavy in the moment, so the 10TF figure is only for movie games. Sticking a fan under your PS5 won't magically make it run better, but could prevent total thermal shutdown if Sony fucks up the tuning.
Sebastian Clark

PCfags on Yas Forums won’t admit this*

>while the PS5 will have almost none to no load times youtube.com/watch?v=4DKLA7w9eeA They will be the same in practice. Sony really fucked up by betting on the SSD >At the end of the day, the PS5's PC GPU equivilent can still do 4k Ultra settings at everything that moves and never drop below 30fps, and even has a stable 60fps at 4k ultra on tons of games. Yes, PS5 is more or less equal to the 5700XT
Charles Cooper
this has always been the case, save for current gen. One year into the new gen, and midrange PCs will offer similar performance. 2 years into new gen and midrange PCs will outperform the new consoles.
Dylan Cox
>no loading times >expecting the game engines to be perfect retard
Aiden Jones
do you know anything about specs? The difference between the Xbox and PS5 specs is literally smaller than the gap between a 5700 and a 5700xt. Both are stronger than a 5700xt- I estimate the PS5 to be as strong as or slightly stronger than a 2070 super, while the SeX should be as strong as a 2080 super. To give you a an idea of the the difference between those two cards- the 2070 Super runs Ass Creed Odyssey at full 4k and 40 FPS. Never dips below 30. The 2080 super runs the same game at a full 4k at 44 FPS.
Both of these cards should do locked 30fps and 4k ultra PC settings on most games, and also easily be able to do a 1440P+ 60fps performance mode if the devs care enough for that. Games designed around higher frame rates, or less demanding games, should easily run 4k 60fps. Devil May Cry 5 for example, should easily run ultra settings at full 4k and 60fps. SeX's biggest advantage is that it looks to be capable of more efficient ray tracing.
Kevin Rogers
it's running off of upgraded 5700xt architechture and is running at 10tf instead of XT's 9. PS5 might be a bit closer to a 2070 super in this case.
Mason Moore

Of course none of this really matters if all the multiplats are based on the supposedly weaker console and ported barely enhanced if at all to the more powerful one. That's how the PS2 dragged the GC and Xbox down to its level and held them there for the entire generation so consistently well that normal gamers didn't even realize there was a power gap.
Easton Cruz
>basing your comparison on one single, badly optimised game's performance The 2080S trounces the 2070S in most games >The difference between the Xbox and PS5 specs is literally smaller than the gap between a 5700 and a 5700xt 5700 vs 5700xt is 1.8 TFLOPS so 22% less SeX vs PS5 is 2.8 TFLOPS so 23% less Stop talking shit, dumbass.
Jonathan Miller
Xbox is better than PS5. It's now all about pricing. I wonder how everything will fall out if PS5 is $499 and Xbox is $599.
Ethan Lewis
Pretty much. Differences will be imperceptible just like they were with PS4 Pro/Xbonex with the PS5 versions likely loading in measurably faster.
Spotted the coping Xbox shills working extra shifts.
Dominic Perez
That's not true at all - even at the same settings PS2 games would run at shit unstable framerates while the Xbox versions would be stable as a rock. If anything, it's better that way.
Tyler Nguyen
This is correct, the way things went before PS4/Xbone was that the new consoles would be noticeably better than most or even any PC at launch, but then within 16 months new PC components would come out that would outclass the console. This is why for years the general sentiment towards PC gamers were that they were autistic sperglords obsessed with specs and the PC itself more than the games they played on it. They would be playing inferior hardware for at least a year, many third party games did not get ports, or if they did they would release with butchered controls. When the good hardware did come out for PC, it would cost at least 3 times the price of the console equivalent. Things changed a bit in the PS3 era, as PC part prices came down by a lot, and in many ways it was the golden age of gaming on a PC- more and more games got PC ports and controller support, Components were cheap enough that in some cases it may even be cheaper to build a comparable PC to consoles- this was helped by the fact that many PC gamers hadn't made the jump to HD yet, why do 1080p when you get more frames and higher settings at 1280 x 1024? This was also one of the first PC generations where console comparative GPUs came out in less than a year from the big console launches. When PS4 and Xbone came out, they were using parts that were WEAKER than the current PCs of similar price points. PC Master Race boomed, and with it's popularity came loads of ports and day one releases for games that are normally console only. But Component manufacturers got greedy- GPU prices have been soaring the past 4 years- the prices of comparable components are absolutely insane- a GPU that matches the PS5 is going to likely cost more than the PS5 itself, and the SeX looks poised to offer such great price to performance that buying a PC or even upgrading your PC if you have anything less than 2080 is going to look like an absolutely retarded financial decision even if the SeX launches at 599$
Tyler Bailey
>imperceptible just like they were with PS4 Pro/Xbonex this is what snoyboys actually believe.
Jayden Peterson
8th gen consoles were only so weak because
a. The Wii was such a success that Sony/MS were questioning if pursuing extremely powerful systems had a future b. 7th gen had been a bloodbath in terms of money down the drain for both Sony/MS
Jace Nelson
Coping how, snoynigger? So far, SeX is shitting on the PS5 by miles.
Nathan Morgan
LMAO you are literally pre-coping because you have already committed to buying a censorstation for the movie games and dont want to regret it
Brandon Kelly
40fps on the PS5 vs 60+ on the SeX is absolutely a noticeable difference
Alexander Martinez
I'm sad that Google didn't join the money bloodbath with Stadia and lose $5 billion. We would have gotten some crazy experimental games.
Hudson Perez
The delta is like 20%, so wouldn't it be like 40fps versus 48fps?
Lincoln Russell
The delta is only 20% with the bullshit boosted clocks. For sustained performance, the delta is more like 30%.
Lincoln Perry
This is correct. Even if the Delta were like 30%, the SeX would only be pushing about 50ish frames on games that the PS5 runs at 40.
Jonathan Adams
>This is correct, the way things went before PS4/Xbone was that the new consoles would be noticeably better than most or even any PC at launch Stop talking shit, moron. The 3070 will be as good as a SeX at launch, better than the PS5. The 3080 will trounce on the SeX and PS5. The only reason the Xbox will be so powerful this time is because of the premium aproach taken by microsoft this time, wich is obviously not the case for the anemic PS5.
Hudson Rodriguez
This level of Xbox cuck delusion will never not be amusing
Joshua Richardson
>No games >Have to zoom in 500% on a horse's scrotum >RE3 has worst framerate on the fucking "mid-gen upgrade" Xbox cucks are impervious to facts and shame.
Matthew Flores
>Snoy doesn't understand basic maths If the SeX runs a game at 60 FPS, the PS5 is going to run them at approximately 77% of that framerate, so 46 FPS. Though the CPU, RAM and thermals are also going to be worse for the PS5 so we can expect a few frames less than that.
Bentley Martinez
>ignoring VRS provides a 20% fps boost for no noticeable loss in image quality >ignoring that PS5 cannot sustain 10TF without melting >ignoring that SeX has advantages in CPU, mem bandwidth, RT performance, etc... >"i-it's only 20%"!
Angel Cruz
If SeX runs game at 48 FPS, PS5 will run it at about 37 FPS, ignoring other hardware limitations of the PS5. You're a dumbass.
David Watson
>console niggers STILL fall for “muh teraflipz”
lmao. imagine being THIS uninformed
Isaiah Wilson
You're also forgetting the fact that PS5 has absolute garbage for RT API. It's a joke.
Jacob Bailey
lol what are you talking about. The consoles aren't even out yet. Imagine licking corporate dick this hard
Kevin Hall
>SeX is going to outperform it along with most PCs Shills deserve the rope.
Your ideas are only correct when viewing price to performance. If you scale up your price point (say, by the cost difference after buying 10 or so games?), then the pc typically outperforms the console. Nobody is revolutionizing hardware just to slot it into a console. The GPUs already exist, they're just being modified and tailored to work a bit better. They're not the highest end GPUs that are being put into consoles, never have been. By the time these things are released, midrange cards will outperform them.
However, from the ground up, buying a $600 pc will NOT outperform a $600 console. Probably takes closer to $1k to get the console specs. However.. It's also a pc. It does computer stuff as well a games. The value is debatable, depending on your uses. Plus games are cheaper, and there's a hilarious amount more of them to choose from, and always backwards compatible. Don't even try to include pc in your comparisons to consoles, it's not apples to apples unless you're just benchfagging.
Jack Allen
>use your own made up figures to get a single percent over the 5700 vs 5700xt performance difference lmao ironic
Aiden Rivera
Hardware differences below.
Xbox >Larger hard drive, expandable from day one with consistent speeds internally/externally >Better controller and more controller options >Better GPU with consistent performance >Better CPU with consistent performance >Better raytracing capability >Better RAM >compatible with existing xbo peripherals >Can use regular external hard drives for legacy content
PS5 >Faster internal hard drive
Thomas Hall
Have SeX.
Dominic Richardson
Very origial.
Adam Harris
ps5 also can use legacy hard drives ps5 also has expandable storage but maybe not at release but it's not proprietary xbox has 6gb of worse ram ps5 has better audio
Carson Moore
>ps5 also has expandable storage but maybe not at release but it's not proprietary and passive adapters will be out within a year because the SeX still uses PCIe4 NVMe >xbox has 6gb of worse ram Games basically never exceed 10GB VRAM. the 6GB of 336GB/s is used for OS/audio/CPU shit and the 10GB of 560GB/s is VRAM >ps5 has better audio pic related
also xbox ssd can only write to the slower section of the ram meaning anything the GPU pulls from the SSD goes through that or has to be afterwards moved to the faster RAM
Christopher Nelson
>source: my ass
Lucas Nguyen
>Alex from Digital Foundry has been making Snoys cry like crazy on cuckera by completely disassembling their arguments the PS5 may be faster and explaining why it won't have any impact on open world games or even linear corridor shooter games like TLOU Based
No you are not >also xbox ssd can only write to the slower section of the ram meaning anything the GPU pulls from the SSD goes through that or has to be afterwards moved to the faster RAM [citation needed]
Christian Green
>throws in random statement with nothing backing it up >accuses other of "making up" figures while getting disproven by commonly availlible data kys.
Jordan Barnes
Overall xbox has better RAM, and the point about expanding the hard drive was that it wont have speeds consistent with the internal one
