Downloaded a ps3 emulator to see how it works with my new cpu's and I can't even come up with games I'd like to emulate.

The 360 was really good for it's time when it launched and the jump to widescreen HD was huge.

i feel like the whole movement that "games need to compete with movies" started last gen. Every game was trying to do the retarded overly dark, lack of selfawareness, serious hollywood esque stories with terrible gameplay.

Xbox 360 was the online mp king from 05 to 13, ps3 was always that singleplayer machine.

xbox dropped the ball when they started making new exclusives while sony pumped them out like morning shits. The catalog of sony exclusives at the end of the gen was rich and versatile.

Yea, but at what price? Peter Moore said the reason the 360 came out in 2005 was to one-up Sony, not compete 1:1, and to rush manufacture which caused RRoD.

I think all multiplats ran better except for FFXIII

That wasn't a gaming idea though; im pretty sure X-Men/Dark Knight taking comic book characters and making them seem more cohesive in a world that they exist in isn't actually a bad thing. The problem was the flood of people wanting to exploit the same idea.

I think the 360 was better as a product but it all comes down to what you prefer between western fps games vs japanese stuff, like the 360 controller was the shittiest controller ever for fighting games

Microsoft has never had a good console that they developed properly themselves. The company is a disgrace to computers.

360 was the overall better machine. It had a good lineup of exclusives but the 3rd party titles ran way better on it usually compared to the ps3. It also had party chats and the ability to plug a headset into the controller. Controller in general was much better than ds3.

first party game development moved into being kinect-focused for a while, or at the very least trying to take advantage of it, it sure hurt the console's library fron 2010(?) onwards

This is retarded logic given that PS3 outsold the 360 by the end, had a much larger and more diverse exclusive library and was generally see as the console for multiplats and 3rd party by the end of the gen. None of that is true for the xbone

360 was for broing out, PS3 was for nerds. Both were fun and had great games but lots of people here have no friends so they prefer PS3.

I didn't start enjoying my ps3 until couple years after ps4 came out and my shit was modded since you had to use the USB dongle. Now I just use it to watch blu-ray ISO.

Halo 3 was one of the best multi experiences, chilling with my boys drinking a couple brewskis while playing customs. I feel fucking embarrassed when I think of the early ps3 experience (shitty singleplayer)

I had both and 360 was superior. Good selection of exclusives, every single multiplat ran better on 360 and it had a MUCH better online experience. PS3 was full of nothing but third world beaners and cheaters.

Gears and Halo were the normalfag highlights but my personal picks were NG2, AC6 and PGR4.
