Is it just me or does this game feel very barebones, especially when compared to New Leaf?
All they promised are free updates in the form of Holidays (which were included in the base game of every previous Animal Crossing), while all the talk about updates of actual substance are nothing more than speculation.
Is it just me or does this game feel very barebones, especially when compared to New Leaf?
>which were included in the base game of every previous Animal Crossing
Get fucked time traveler
no because im still sitting through the 10 day tutorial you speedhacking faggot
I'm gonna wait this out a year at minimum to see if they'll re-release it physical with all the missing content (seasonal events) put into the cartridge as opposed to selling customers an unfinished Animal Crossing game.
Even the original DS had holidays without patching it in, the fuck is wrong with Nintendo's Animal Crossing team? Lazy fuckers.
Nah like the complete opposite
It's just you.
Blah blah blah what the fuck were you expecting? You fell for the Nintendo hype and now you're bitching over it?
Let me guess, you used time travel and now you're bitching to that there's nothing to do?
It’s miles better than New Leaf
nah they just decided time travelers can go fuck themselves, so take the hint and go fuck yourself :3
>Nintendo hype
More like he fell for his own
I do believe they're gonna constantly update the game to minimize time traveling. At least they don't have always online bullshit.
It's only been a few days so I see no problem. But then again I am not a time travel tranny.
>tranny face
>defending cut content
cringe
t. time traveler seething
The only bullshit in the game so far is restricting nook's cranny by requiring 30 iron ore. If you don't know the two hole trick when hitting rocks then it will take you several days to get enough ore. I'm not sure how casual players are even getting it. I also got salty when you had to get even more ore to craft all that God damn furniture for the new residents, Nook can fuck off.
>All these people time traveling because they want a perfect town already
>When this game has more stuff for you to do and craft each day than NL
I miss brewster and holidays like april fools are gonna be glossed over in favor of bunny day, but i hate that people rush through AC immediately.
Same shit happened when NL came out.
just you time traveling nigger
>remove nearly all shops, buildings, npcs
>castrate museum
>"here have some survival crafting shit instead"
it feels really barren
modchips by team xecuter are functional (but not in mass production) for the lite and nu-switch, so even once the online services for the console are long gone, you'll still be able to download all the DLC.
i fail to see an issue.
Play for more than 2 days, you megaretard
I relate, op. Game is missing a lot of neat shit I liked from New Leaf like the police station, dreams, the kk slider club, etc. Everyone keeps saying they're gonna add those in updates but that's no guarantee. Everyone said that shit about Mario Maker 2, which sold shit tons, and Nintendo left that game to rot. I'll keep playing but eventually after a few more weeks I think people are gonna realize the major flaws
>Make celeste a random visiting NPC with no 2nd floor or observatory for her
>Have to get mable to visit 3 times just for able sisters to get setup
>Gulliver is how you get a gold shovel apparently
I dont get some of these design choices
Sounds like you time traveled, you fucking idiot.
It's been forever since I played New Leaf. How quickly did you get the diving suit? In my mind it was something that took me awhile to get, but I'm probably wrong. I know it's been purged from this game for some dumbfuck reason, but I'm still going to pretend there's hope they add it in via updates. I don't really care about the diving mechanic, but I loved most of the deep sea creatures and the bug/fish collection is my favorite part about this game. It just seems shitty to gut the total number of creatures, but make the museum look incredible.
>no shopping district
>no shoe shop
>no barber shop
>no gardener shop
>no fortune teller
>no dream suite
>no club
>no cafe
>no campsite
>no gyroids
>no paintings
>no swimming
>a large portion of the villagers: cut
>amiibo villagers: cut
>holidays: cut
what the fuck have they been doing during those 7 years? its like i'm playing a demo.
I fucked up ore collection day 1 without using the hole trick, and I still ended up with 28 ore at the end of day 2 just using the free Nook Ticket. You could very easily collect all 30 ore in 1 day, if you have excess miles.
You can literally make your own for this shit. That's the whole point.
Not to mention that they cut down on the dialogue as well.
>talk to villager literally 2 times over the span of multiple hours
>they instantly give you shit for being too clingy
You are supposed to build the village yourself this time round, that's literally the game's mechanic this time round. And Nook literally tasks you with setting up a campsite.
it took a long time, a month or more for me. iirc you had to fully upgrade the shop.
I hope they put diving back in the game at some point.
>what the fuck have they been doing during those 7 years?
Splatoon 1 & 2. The AC dev team came up with the idea for Splatoon and successfully pitched it to miyamoto as a quick-and-dirty project to fill time while the switch was in early development. then it became a hit, and sucked 5 years away.
I'm actually ok with phased content in this game, given how you actually play it.
Is it true there aren't any upgrades for the store? I want my nook mart
I don't mind the idea of phased content, but it isn't even confirmed that there'll be any content outside of holidays yet
the data mine meme about gyroids and café being added could just as well have been content originally planned for the game that had to be cut to make the release
It’s a very gated start compared to the earlier ones where you could do everything at once. I guess they’re trying to slow the pace of it. I’m on the third day and still can’t visit half of the island because of the cliffs.
It’s raining today in my game, that meant Coelacanths in the previous ones. Haven’t spotted one yet though.
animal crossing is probably one of the best games to use the splatoon content model because it keeps the game fresh. given that the splatton team is working on animal crossing, and what they've already told us about holidays, i think that free updates are coming that aren't just the holidays.
I knew that trick from the previous game, I didn’t know rocks could break in this one however. Guess who’s waiting for all their rocks to respawn.
Can anyone answer this?
How do I get to spider island?
Is it night only?
Answer what
>no shopping district
>implying that isn't what I did with the Eastern side of my island.
Residents on the left, commercial on the right. Even made a little bikeshed next to Nook's Cranny.
Answer what? There's no question.
Holy shit 20 iron ore ore the fuck? Bruh I only don' seen near 3 rocks, and I've only acquired 1 iron and made a personal crafting bench.
what's the hole trick?
Do Coelacanth still apparat when it’s raining
Dig a hole behind you so you aren't pushed away from the rock and can hit it more
You dig 2 holes in front of the rock and then stand in front of them when digging. It means you don’t get pushed back and can get the full amount of items from the rocks. It’s the old bell trick.
Huh, thanks. I wonder why preventing knockback means more drops though
Just visit other islands to farm.
2 visits and you will have your ores.
what good is larping about having a shopping district, when its all just cosmetic and there is only 1 actual shop in the game?
You can fuck up and dig a hole by accident instead of hitting the rock, and when that happens you can’t get anymore stuff out from the rock
Because eventually you’ll get pushed back to the point you can’t hit the rock anymore. Log you prevent that you can get the full amount of items.
The timing is very tight, so it's tricky to manually reposition yourself when you get bounced back too far
>isn't even confirmed
its obvious it will be. why should they spoil the surprises now. this is done by the splatoon team (or rather splatoon was done by the AC team) who by now has a solid rep for that sort of thing. animal crossing is one of the best selling franchises in nintendo, and one of their biggest system sellers (bigger than zelda, and right below pokemon) there are millions of people who buy a nintendo solely for animal crossing and will play it nearly every day for a decade or more - there are people who still play the gamecube AC regularly. There's no way nintendo isn't gonna take advantage of this market.
Aesthetics. Making things pretty and going for themed areas is the name of the game here.
it has to be raining and nighttime
that works for bells but it doesn't work for ore the rock just disappears after one hit.
was the item dupe glitch fixed?
>Even the original DS had holidays without patching it
You couldn't patch ds games so they had to have it all included. This stops people fucking with the game.
I'd rather not have someone in a Christmas hat come pelt me with snowballs in March.
Ah cool, hopefully the rain holds out until dark then. Thank you.
it doesn't have to be raining at the time, it just has to have rained that day.
I have the same plan.
If you want an early vaulting pole, ask someone to make one for you. And Coelacanths are still in the game.
Wild World had the best atmosphere
>he's still using Flimsy tools
Surely you're not enough of a resourcelet to need to continue scrimping and saving each iron nugget, are you?
Its raining on my island and I have been reeling in 7 of these things during the last 30 minutes.
Building Nook's Cranny and making furniture for your 3 new neighbors is probably the most tedious part of the entire game. Just push through it and the next few days become a cakewalk.
